I made an appt for an MRI, and I was told there was an additional for sedation since I am claustrophobic. My driver didnt show up, so I couldnt have the sedation. I made it through the MRI without sedation, but expected an adjustment to my bill. I was told after the the MRI the sedation was free, so I wasnt charged an extra fee for it. The $600 I owed didnt include the cost for sedation. Hmmmm, I questioned if that is true, because the lady that called me the day before wanted to be sure I had a driver because of the sedation. She wanted to be sure I understood there would be an extra charge. So my question is, was anyone been charged an extra charge for sedation if claustrophobic during an MRI? If so, how much was it? THANKS for your help! New patient just trying to be sure Im not being ripped off!

NO REALLY, IT'S COMPLICATED AF In other words if you could be fixed by any other doctor in the US you would have been, by now. Now, you need someone smarter than Dr. House only real. Don't be that person. Get the help you need. Yeah, she is that good. Other doctor's kind of treat her as a mythical creature when she had me in the hospital. I found that kind of funny. This place stinks in so many ways. Of course, pretty much the case at any hospital. The healthcare…read morein U.S.A. has failed patients.. I gave 2 stars because of some outstanding doctors and nurses. They really cared, attentive and worked hard trying to keep my brother alive. I can list those people because they were so memorable and kind. These were all during his many, many hospital stays. I feel like that if you don't get these people, you might be lucky to stay alive. The lack of help, lack of staff (some fell asleep while we were in our floor room), excruciating long wait in ER, lack of doctors or nurses coming in ER room. HOURS and HOURS and HOURS waiting in an ER hallway with NO ONE helping. Even when he was in dire straights, including throwing up blood, they were slow (not to a room and seen by nurse and doctor to control theowing up) it was after they got him "stable" which he was not. The incredibly slow process of getting a room. They assign one BUT hours and hours of wait time. With the excuse they need to clean it. Again, is this a lack of staffing or just in no hurry for patients. We think their moto should be: UTSW we strive to just do a hurry up and wait and wait and wait to help you. I will never go there. Surely there is a better solution than this kind of care. Don't be fooled by their "#1 hospital in Texas". It is ONLY in research. I wish their research was better in our situation. There really are some fantastic staff and doctors we have been very blessed in that way. Especially, some of his doctors that have been caring, attentive, educational, saved his life more than once in the past 4 years. Dr. Goldschmidt, Dr. Sawas, Dr. Kim, Dr. Mufti, Dr. Chittajallu, Dr. Bradley, etc. I know I am missing some of these fantastic doctors and nurses. I am very sorry to miss your names. These listed were his hospital stays. THE VERY sad thing is they probably don't read these reviews and do more to address these very serious issues. I have worked with the complaint department to help but it has been mostly a miss. There were a couple of people who did great. It's frustrating to see your loved one suffering for hours and hours and hours with limited assistance. I have shed many a tear during these years.

Dr. Desaloms already has my MRIs up on a giant screen ready to review my issues. This office clearly invests in top-notch technology, and it shows. Was I fired because I hurt Sorin's ego, or was it because my sister wrote a bad review of HER experience? I have been a patient of NTINH for over a decade, and in the approximately 50-80 appointments, I was late by 5 minutes one time, and missed 1 appointment due to Apple's "wonderful" update that turns off the alarm sound if you move your phone. I paid the no-show fee without complaint as it was my fault. Second, I received a "certified mail/registered return receipt" that was absolutely not sent by either, I received it by plain, regular first class mail. Lying seems to be second nature to NTINH. I recently started Botox to treat my migraines. It has been, administratively, a nightmare. There was no pamphlet to explain what to expect or how it works. No one ever provided me with the paper aftercare instructions; I had to pick them up myself at the 6-week follow-up. Each time I scheduled an appointment, I was called before my appointment and told that I needed to move my appointment as Paige wasn't available on those days. Both times, the length of time between the call and my new appointment was too short for me to request an update to my time off, and I then had to involve my manager, making everything twice as complicated. Physically, my second Botox appointment was with Sorin (who was very condescending), and it was so much more painful than Ms Wolfe. The front desk staff, particularly in the Plano location, seem not to have evolved beyond high school mean girls. Elaine Timm is one of the meanest doctors I have ever dealt with. That sounds juvenile but holy God was she awful. Every time I went I dreaded going, and ended up with a stress migraine/headache. She withheld useful pain management information for over a year for some unknown reason. The only useful thing she did was suggest Ajovy/Aimovig, otherwise I stayed at status quo for the entire time I was with her. Frankly, the one star is because I have to and because Dr El-Hag was quite kind.
