We were looking for a garage "touch up" + front yard update. I found 3 - 4 contractors and WTG…read morebuilders was one of the most responsive contractors with a competitive bid for the work we wanted. Project manager Josef was excellent in bringing in his partners (designers, foreman, etc.) to ensure from the design to finish we were collaborating and satisfied with the end result. For the garage, we had it drywalled (no insulation), installation of a attic ladder (bought from Home Depot) to make use of a pre-built storage area, updated garage door and exterior lighting. Front yard included adding extra pavement to be able to park two cars on the driveway (we have the pre WW II one car driveway) but looks like a part of the front yard design, installation of artificial grass (YAY), redo of the front porch to include redoing the porch ceiling with a bare wood look, and installation of a pathway to the front steps. We had 3 home improvement projects in the last couple of years (including this project) and WTG Builders was the best in terms of responsiveness, communication, and setting expectations. Perhaps I'm more wiser too about projects but I appreciated Project Manager Josef's communication and updates and the various trade teams were fantastic. I also took into consideration their work in the local Long Beach/Lakewood area which I think is important. I would use them again and recommend them for similar projects!

When we hit a few snags along the way as any project does, he pivoted quickly in the best most efficient manner, and gave detailed explanations why things would or wouldn't work. The crews were all complete professionals. Hardworking, efficient and friendly. They did great work and weren't shy about asking questions if they needed clarification. They cleaned up after themselves and left everything in great condition. I would be very happy to recommend hire Pearl Remodeling and Avi for any and all future remodeling needs!

I set up an appointment with somebody who answered the phone to make an appointment and get a quote…read moreabout getting an ADU built behind my home. Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. As my grandma always said, you'll catch more flies with honey than hot sauce!

Other contractors have tried to get business bypassing permits and cutting corners, BFR does not, they did it by the book which was appreciated. They paid attention to the details and made sure everything was done right. Any questions or concerns were addressed immediately and we are very happy with end result. Gary is not just a great handyman/contractor, he has truly been a godsend for me…read more I was in the process of renting out a house and had a decent list of tasks that I still needed to get done quickly, and of course as things go, more issues started to pop-up. Gary was able to fix everything not only in a timely, competent manner, but he and his painter Salvador went above and beyond to make everything look even better than I expected, at a great rate. I had Gary and Salvador help me install doorstops, replace doorknobs, fix incorrectly installed door latches, replace sinks and faucets and drains, and paint various shelves and cabinets around the house. It has been the greatest pleasure working with them both, and everyone that has seen their work (prospective tenants, property managers) have commented on how high-quality their work is. In fact, I believe that I was able to quickly rent out my house due to the work that they did. They saved me a ton of headache having to fix everything individually with different trades. I also started having Gary help me with tasks in my own house, which has continued to be a great experience. You can take a look at their paint job in my photos - they really did an amazing job. Gary from Quick Care Home Repair is beyond competent, efficient, friendly, pleasant to work with, and honest with the utmost integrity. He is incredibly talented... We honestly feel lucky we got to experience how he does business. He has set the bar so high that it's going to be hard to work with anyone else now. What made him different? Clear, consistent communication: Every evening, he gave us a recap of what was done that day and what to expect the following day and for the rest of the week. Updates during the day: He kept us in the loop while he was working (for example, letting us know when he was heading to Home Depot and when he expected to be back to finish a task). He's also just a genuinely kind and honest person. We had originally requested something very specific in our bathroom, and the tile crew made a small mistake. Gary caught it, called us that night to explain, and told us he would have his team redo it so it matched what we agreed on in our initial meeting....without us even asking. That level of integrity and pride in his work is rare. He remodeled our bathroom and bedroom, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Gary is now our go-to for anything construction-related.
