So a "real time" review as I am sitting at the bar awaiting a replacement order…read more It is hard to describe the burger I was served. It was way over cooked but that was not a full description. In addition to being charred beyond well done it was also very dense.... Definitely not a coarse grind. The combination was a patty that was inedible. Ate less than 1/4. Why not a worse rating? The female barkeep was so attentive and on top of it that it was still a decent meal. Happily replaced it with a 1/2 dozen wings which were very good.

This one takes the cake & costs the Hilltop any repeat business from us. The pictures are SUPPOSED to be of the 8oz Haddock Dinner for $18.99 & the French onion soup for $4.99. The fork in the picture is for reference only as the food was completely inedible. Sadly, we ordered it all to-go & didn't realize it was all terrible until home (over 1/2 hr away). The haddock dinner was burnt, not 8oz OR haddock & it was missing the lemon butter/bread crumb topping as described on the menu but had an abundance of paprika. I believe they switched the haddock dinner order with another paprika haddock dish on the menu - but conveniently forgot to lower the price. The French onion soup was a cup of broth. No croutons or Swiss cheese in it or on the side, as described on the menu. Sadly, this was take-out & we never looked until we got home (over 1/2 hour away). All over-priced as all inedible. Totally feel cheated. Email with pictures sent to management - received absolutely no response.

The beer selection and interior design were more impressive than the food…read more Both beers we ordered were poured well and had good citrus and hoppy notes. No complaints there. Besides the staple menu, there was a rotating menu featuring a soup, mussel dish, flatbread, burger, and pasta. The food took some time to come out, and everything was rather bland across the board. The interior was decorated nicely for the holidays though. *Hummus Platter: a huge shareable for $10. The crispy naan resembled the Costco version but fried. The naan itself worked well as a base for the hummus, although the hummus was neither smooth nor flavorful. There was no fragrance from the chickpeas, and it tasted rather unseasoned. The selection of peppers, carrots, and cucumbers was decent. *Garlic Butter Mussels: their monthly mussel dish. The mussels were cooked well and coated in a one dimensional sauce. The sweet wine was cooked down with lots of garlic, while the butter was subtle. I wished there had been a bit more toasted baguette to balance the one pound of seafood. Note there is a 3% credit card surcharge. I could not find this listed on their menu and but I saw the charge on my receipt. I enjoyed the few beers I had, and the food was acceptable for a bar. With some improvement to the flavors, this could be a worthwhile visit for a bite and a drink.

Decent selection of beers, depending on your palate, and loved the pretzels. Its amazing, today the creativity and passion for reutilization of old buildings. After chatting with the bartender, discovered that the brewery was a converted former car wash, that's been open for almost 6 years. My beer selection was a lighter lager with a peach flavor, sorry, forgot the name. One never knows, the hidden jem local towns have when visiting an area.
