Owned and managed by Juan and Marcela Calderon, both originally from the city of Armenia in the zona cafetera region of Colombia, where the country's coffee growing industry is based, the small storefront doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk in, you are assaulted by the odors of freshly roasting coffee from the company's huge Diedrich IR-12 machine which can process 26 pound batches at a time.
The roaster is entirely computer-controlled, so it can consistently set roast profiles for every type of coffee that 360F imports. The Calderons prefer medium-roast (as do I) for the coffees they sell, which provide the best balance of roast flavor, acidity (brightness), and the regional bean's flavor characteristics.
In addition to The Little Coffee Shoppe, 360F works with several other boutique coffee shops and retail purveyors to provide them with custom blends for each store, including Doral's Luka, Miami's Imperial Moto, and Molina's Select. But as Coral Springs residents, you can buy from 360F directly and realize some exceptional savings on these very high-quality coffees.
Coffees are roasted at the store daily, so it is always fresh. The green varieties that the Calderons have on hand vary due to supply, but they include Antioquia Colombia, Colombia Supremo, Colombia Decaf, Colombia Salento, Honduras, Guatemala Antigua, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Sumatra Wet, and Brazil. They've also formulated two blends for coffee shops, their Brazil/Guatemala Springs blend and Ritual, which blends Colombia and Brazil.
Most of their coffees are $15 per 12oz bag, which is highly competitive with retail coffee shops - but you can save a lot more when buying 5 pound bags ($55-$60), which brings it to about $11-$12 per pound. read more
