I'll let some other reviewers talk about the women's clothes (other than this looks like a place for women, not girls.) What I noticed were items like battery powered candles, wind chimes, angel figurines, and some items that also had humorous sayings, particularly for cat lovers. The payment counter is centrally located in the shop and easy to see from the mall entrance. There were two women working during my visit and both were helping customers while I browsed. She could not have been more kind and warm; I'm so sad I didn't get her and the owners' names (but her daughter also owns the jewelry store across the street!!). Olive & Slate is a must-shop. Instantly the scent of one of their candles hits your senses and you're drawn in. They sell these awesome robot pieces made of metal and tin and are painted and out together by locals. They also sell flour towels with amazing quips on them (see pics below - they're only $7!!), and Mud Pie products that you canNOT love without. You gotta go visit. BRING YOUR MONEY! Buyer's remorse is NOT a factor here!

This house turned shop is located just a short distance north of downtown Columbus. It takes a bit…read moreof attention to approach since the neighborhood is filled with "one way" streets. Once you find it, there is street parking on Home Ave and a small lot on the property, both options free. You enter the shop on the northeast end of the building. There is a showroom of items that give you an instant feel of nicely arranged decor and furniture with the checkout counter in the back of this room. The rest of the business is arranged in an oval pattern of rooms that let you easily flow through the shop and finish back at the checkout. Along the way, I found a couple brands of candles gathered into displays, and lots of furniture; some painted, some still with original finish. I even found a hallway filled with dog treats! But mainly, there are lots of antique items that are in different condition dispersed among home decor accessories and furniture. If anything, the orderliness and open spacing feel almost empty compared to the majority of antique shops I have visited that are packed to overflowing. It made for a nice change of pace when antiquing. Because of the nice displays, it can be inspirational to shoppers for possible ways to display the items in their own homes. This spot reminds me of a living…read moreMagnolia Farms/Fixer Upper style urban country shop filled with silk succulents, fabulous woven pillows and rugs, basket containers, candles and tea towels. I personally fought the urge to go home with the magnolia silk wreath beside the front counter but my mom ended up buying a kitchen tea towel and oven mit. From the moment you see the front window display at Cozy Nest you'll know this isn't your average small town gift shop filled with trinkets, Cherished Teddies, Precious Moments and Wooden Willows angels (no offense to you collectors out there). Conveniently located a few doors down from lunch at the Montage Cafe and cappuccinos at The Coffee Pot and you couldn't ask for a better Saturday morning in Greenville. I was impressed with the prices given what the items are. My only complaint was that the shopkeeper seemed to have a friend in while we were there and never greeted or engaged with us which would seem like a great marketing opportunity for a newer business. We'll certainly be back and I imagine this scenario isn't always the case.

Finally got help when we said out loud "Maybe we can find someone who works here". No real help was offered. We asked about bedroom furniture and were told that they mostly work with designers. Oh, really? We looked at area rugs and window coverings, but again, no assistance was offered even though there was absolutely no one else in the store. So...maybe we don't look like we can afford their furnishings? Maybe we aren't their type of customer? We definitely felt like they had no time for us. We took our business across town, purchased everything we wanted at Distinctive Furnishings and even ordered some of the exact items we saw at Etc from Distinctive Furnishings at a lower price point. Beautiful store, but the customer service is sorely lacking. We won't sully their store with our presence again.
