This is a quick weave spot and by quick I mean bring your hair, they sew and you're out the door, no consultation or real "hair care" intentions. Like a fast food version of a hair salon. The shop itself is adorable and in a stellar location. All of the stylists are extremely friendly and the shop was very clean. My only qualm is they're just not necessarily knowledgeable about different hair textures and hair care underneath the bundles. Again to be fair the hair I brought in was trash (basic outre, natural curl 1 solution pak $140 for 6 bundles)... I just wish they would've advised me it wouldn't work i/o collecting a quick coin for a trash install ($170 w/ tip). After waiting almost 2hrs my assigned stylist felt comfortable enough to take lunch (which I did not object to) and multiple phone calls during my session (which irked me) but didn't see fit to speak up along the way of the install. I cautioned that I did not want more than 2 packs single wefted, she proceeded to put almost 4!!! My leave out was abysmal and nothing I could realistically maintain given I am natural. My hair is also very thin around the edges. I left the shop with fairly high hopes (Saturday) but by the next morning my scalp was on fire itching and the braids were way too tight. Fast forward another 24hrs (Monday) and I'm in the first open salon chair getting the weave uninstalled (9am). Clearly I'm 90% at fault so this review is more of a warning if you are not familiar with sew-ins and managing leave-out and have high customer service expectations plan to spend more money somewhere else. I knew I had been all the way played when they were packing their bags to close before I even swiped my credit card and didn't even bother suggesting a follow-up wash / re-tighten, to leave a review, take a pic ect. I think we all knew it was awful and just wanted to be polite. I feel suckered out of the $170. Lesson learned.

I have a stylist but she was booked and I needed to get my hair done before I hopped on the road for a quick trip. When I arrived, no one was in the lobby area or greeted me. So I walked into the main stylist room to say hello and give my name. She said someone would be with me soon. She (DeShonica) asked me what I was getting done and asked who referred me again. She said I would be getting a "complimentary" steam treatment b/c it was my 1st visit. Let me stop right here for a min... I spoke with DeShonica about a week prior by phone. I told her who referred me, I told her what I wanted to get done, I asked for the price, and she confirmed a time with me. I sent her a follow-up text to confirm too. OKAY back to the appointment day... This adorable shorter female was my shampoo girl (or so I thought), she was a chatty catty but very nice. She placed me under the steamer that dripped constantly b/c it wasn't adjusted to my height... whatever, I just put my hand there to avoid being drenched. I was under the steamer for a while, so I got out and was like can I please be rinsed. It took a while for me to be rinsed b/c chatty catty was doing someone else's hair. Again - all good no worries. I am rinsed out and asked by the shampoo girl if I had a picture of what my hair normally looks like, and if I knew what color perm rods that I use. *pause* YOU should know what perm rods to use based on my hair length. Why am I showing you what hairstyle I usually rock - just do my hair based on my request for a wash and rod set. I guess at the color rods that I use but I'm growing in my agitation. Shampoo girl proceeds to do my rod set while DeShonica is next to us doing someone else hair. The salon fills up from ladies to about 8 waiting on their hair to be done. I'm placed under the dryer, my cell dies, I arrived at 11:30 am and I ended up leaving at 4:30 pm. Here are my biggest issues and why despite her skills and popularity, I would advise going here: 1. Treat your referrals kindly. They have seen your work and clearly are hoping for a bomb experience. If someone is referred to a particular person - that person should be doing their hair. If I wanted any stylist (especially one whose work I've never seen) then I would go to a damn generic salon like Hair Cuttery)! 2. First impressions are everything as a new client. Although I have a person who is professional, quick, and manages her time well - this could have been my new stylist. Make a great impression to get that 1st timer to rave about you or come back. 3. COMMUNICATION - If I'm referred to you and you are booked with regulars communicate that OR formally introduce the stylist who will be taking over and preference their work or skillset. 4. If I'm getting a wash and style on short hair why is the cost of the service $65 (wash) and an additional $20 for a style? WTF! A damn wash and style should be one service. A add-on is a trim, cut, steam treatment, deep condition, etc. Who just gets their hair washed and dried but no style? Basically my "complimentary" steam treatment was included in the price. Nah son. I won't be back. I hate to write this but someone needs to be 100 in these reviews. If you have nothing to do in a day, then this salon is for you. Expect to be there forever and hope that the person you made your appointment with does your hair.
