I have been taking 303 taxi for years - they used to have very reasonable fees from the suburbs to O'Hare. But lately I noticed they really dropped their standards. My main issue is with drivers insisting you pay cash or being very pissed off if you can't. I travel for work a lot and use a corporate card. I can't pay cash because I have to expense it. They up the rate if I insist on paying credit even though the rate is supposed to be flat. And then the credit card device asks for 20 percent tip as the lowest option. which is on top of the higher rate the driver already charges. I feel this is price gauge and will start looking for other options for work travel. I don't need to be lectured for using credit. Get with the times, 303! read more

I took 303 Taxi twice ... once on the way to O'Hare (lovely ride) BUT the driver who picked me up from O'Hare and drove me home was a complete nightmare!! His top speed down Interstate 294 was 91 miles an hour!!!! He was swerving in and out of traffic and beeping his horn for people to move out of the way. I was horrified and really scared by the whole drive home! As soon as I got home, I called and complained about the driver to a manager and he apologized profusely and told me to call their "Quality Control" department the next day, which I did. But THIS person in Quality Control told me they reviewed the camera of the ride (I can't BELIEVE the driver would drive like that, knowing that the company keeps cameras in the car!!!) and the quality person said yes, the driver was definitely driving erratically (and I'm glad my story was accurate)! And the quality person said they had notified the driver and he was terribly apologetic about the driving, and he was sorry. So I asked what they were going to do to the driver. She said "we are sending him to a class for aggressive driving, but he would remain a driver in their company!!" The quality person said if I ever asked for another taxi, that this horrible driver was blocked and would NOT be sent to drive me again ... well that's just great! Now he can drive the "death taxi" for someone else??? I will NEVER use this service again!!! This quality control person did NOT seem sympathetic or reasonable ... to continue to let this taxi driver drive OTHER patrons is horrible!! read more

What has happened to this company? We used to take them for every trip to and from the airport. Called them to arrange a pickup from our house to airport on our way to a wedding. Since I had not talked to a real person I called that night to confirm and voice prompt told me I was confirmed for 6 a.m. No Taxi showed up the next day and when I called the voice prompt told me no drivers were available! What! You just canceled me and didn't let me know? Ended up having to spend over $100 to get an Uber at the last minute. And the driver had to drive like a maniac to get us to the airport. We just made our flight. Will never use them again. They cannot be trusted. read more

Picked up from O'hare airport and the car reeked of cigar and cigarettes. It was 75 degrees out and the driver had the inside temp at 85. He was upset that I asked it to be turned down to 73, which he would only turn it too 75. Having an attitude didn't help matters. Never again! read more

We had taken taxi to O'hare Airport, booked in advance for 6AM. Got SMS at 5AM, taxi was at door 5:50, reached on time. Nice courteous driver and smooth ride. Like others, I made a reservation for a pick up and ride to the airport. It took 2 calls to make the reservation because the dispatcher could not locate my large hotel, even with the exact address. 30 mins before the scheduled pickup, they let me know the dispatcher was working on getting me a driver. The pickup time came and went. No call, no taxi. When I called back 9 mins after the pickup time, they told me they were still looking for a driver. I canceled. I will be very rushed for my flight now. I wish I had been told they did not have a driver or could not accept the reservation. read more

As a taxi driver do not be turning on your Driver Side LED Post-Mount Spotlight on a driver! Those light fixtures are for squad cars who enforce the law. Not a taxi driver who clearly likes to drive on the right shoulder lane! As to the over all look of it the driver should really be fired for using the light which is a ticket for distracting the driver. I booked a taxi the day before my flight. The booking was easy, the dispatcher was really polite and answered my questions including the price. Pros: the taxi was on time, actually 15 minutes early. I got to Midway Airport with plenty of time to check in, grab a bite to eat, and wait for boarding. The driver was motivated to get me to the airport as quickly as possible. Cons: He sat in the cab and didn't come out when he arrived and dropped me off. He talked on his phone and looked at it while whizzing along. He was silent which may be a "pro" for others. And lastly he added $2 to the quoted amount. I was quoted $22 from home to airport and his base rate was $24. I added a $3 tip but really shouldn't have since he added the $2. I'll use this service again, but I'll verify the cost ahead of time. Or else there's always Uber. read more

After nearly 20 years of relying on steady service to and from Chicago airports by 303, I can no longer recommend this company. 303 is no longer dependable. Twice in the last four months, once at Midway and today at O'Hare, they've been unable to pick me up. They simply didn't have cabs available. I realize this is probably due in part to Covid and its impact on driver availability. But after 21 months of the pandemic, they should have fixed their issues by now. The Midway issue was the worst. It was 9 pm when I landed and neither 303 nor any other cab company could come. I ended up getting all the way back to Highland Park from Midway by L and Metra. Not acceptable. I received a call 9 minutes before the scheduled pickup from 303 Taxi, letting me know they had no vehicles available. I expressed my frustration on the phone, asking why they would call less than 10 minutes before the pickup, and they just apologized and said they try to call people "as quick as possible". A group of us were visiting Chicago for a wedding and needed a taxi to get to the wedding reception which was ~35mi West in the town of Wheaton. I called one highly-recommended service (O'Hare Taxi) who didn't have a van available when we needed it, so he recommended I called 303 Taxi. I called their dispatch (Eddie) who specifically quoted "$68-74" for the a van and 6 riders, which sounded fine. The taxi driver arrived on time, was courteous, and everything was going fine until half-way through the ride he says "we are leaving the city limits and going into the suburbs, so the price is now 50% more for every mile hereafter". We were told NOTHING about this extra fee when I spoke to dispatch, but since none of us were taxi experts and arguing/leaving the cab wasn't an option due to the pouring rain and time constraints), we just agreed to pay the extra fee. I later called the company (spoke to a different person) who stated that it is their policy to charge 50% extra for miles driven in the suburbs, and it was the previous dispatch's fault for giving an inaccurate quote and not telling me about that. So if you ever think about using this cab service and price is an issue BEWARE! Double/triple check the quote on the phone, and confirm with the cabbie what you can/will pay for the ride before you get in and start the ride. Oddly enough on our return trip with Naperville Taxi (taking almost the exact same route to get us back downtown) it cost about $66 WITHOUT any extra 50% fee. So so definitely call around as there seems to be a lot of variation in the cost of the same cab ride. read more

Here is the good: 1. Their use of technology is good with texts confirming booked taxis. Not as innovative as Uber, but still good. Here is the bad: 1. My driver was more than a couple of minutes late. 2. The cab was smelly. 3. My driver immediately took a tone with me, even though I was waiting outside and hadn't said anything to her yet. ("Are you sure you have everything?!?") 4. After driving a short time, my driver told me that cash was preferred but that she didn't have any change, so she would stop if I wanted to get different bills. The entire experience was awkward and confirmed for me that Uber is the way to go in the suburbs of Chicago. read more

I don't know why I continued to hail this cab company, but the service is dirt poor. Called a cab from the baggage claim of ORD, and 6E literally took over 40 minutes to arrive. Multiple dispatchers I called (when 20 and over 30 minutes had passed) said there was bad traffic, and it wasn't the cab company's fault, but why did we see multiple other cabs circling around the road more than once? Traffic didn't seem to hold them up... The debacle included a personal phone call from the cabbie saying he was arriving soon, but it was almost 20 minutes before he actually arrived. At that point, we informed the cabbie 2-3x (because he had asked to clarify) where we were going, and he drove us to Devon instead of Dempster. Wth. When we GPSed the quickest way to get back on route, he confused left with right and seemed to have night vision issues (case in point: practically turning into the exit lane of a neighborhood complex vs. the entry side of the partition), leading to us getting honked at. It was a painful hour of my life, and I've given 303 way too many chances at this point to allow them to continue redeeming themselves. read more

Just like everyone else on here had the same experience. Called three days prior for a 5:45 AM pick up to have a medical procedure done at the hospital. I was not supposed to drive after this procedure so I had a pick up already scheduled with a friend. 5:45 AM rolls around 5:50 AM, 5:55 AM I finally called 303 and of course like everyone else they have no one in my area. Absolutely ridiculous how this company stays in business I have no idea. When I talked to management she did apologize, but too little too late. Reliable, punctual, fast taxi service. I stayed at a hotel in Franklin Park last week and used 303 Taxi, at least 6 times during 3 days. The drivers all arrived within 15 minutes and service was courteous. They drove with a sense of urgency, and apologized for any delays in traffic. Their rates were also very reasonable. Additional reasons why I like 303 Taxi: -Automated response. When you call, a computer records your pick-up and drop-off location, then remembers it for your future requests. -Drivers are tech-savvy. Most use a smartphone app or in-cab console to process your debit/credit payments, and offer to send your receipt via text-message or email. Great for when you don't have cash (you can also add a tip electronically). -Great customer service. Drivers are friendly and accommodating. One driver even waited an hour for me, without my knowing! I had mentioned that I was only going to take 30 minutes to print copies at Fedex, then I would call again to request another pick-up. I ended up taking much longer than expected, and when I called 303 Taxi, there he was -- waiting for me, the whole time! I apologized profusely but he was so chill about it, saying "No problem." I gave him an extra nice tip, for his super-human patience (cash is king!). FYI, rates are higher for pick-up/drop-off at O'Hare airport (with all taxi services, apparently). I dunno why other Yelp users have posted less-than-thrilling reviews. My review is genuine and I hope you will give them a chance. I have 303 Taxi on my phone's speed-dial, and will definitely use their services again in the future. read more

CAB 9005 Sunday, March 5th, 6:00AM Horrible ride! Horrible driver! I requested a pick up at O'Hare Airport Sunday, March 5th, 6:15AM at Door 1 E. I had to call the company and or the driver a total of 5 times and waited 18 minutes to be picked up. He went to the incorrect door 1 G and picked up a passenger. I saw the cab number as he sped by me with the wrong passenger. I called him and was informed he would be right back. 10 minutes later he returned to 1G and dropped her off. Then he stood at the cab waiting for me to walk down to him. I was at 1 E. I asked him way the incorrect door and was shown the computer said 1 G. The car was marked with the 303 log and his number. He had no taxi medallion and no identification showing who he was and no meter. Just his phone on the dash board and a computer on a mount next to him. I asked why he did not pick me up at the correct door and was informed he went where the computer told him. He never verified who I was or where we were going. He exited the airport at 55 mph and merged on the tollway at 81 mph and stayed at that speed the entire time. I informed him he was going into a gated community and to tell the guard he was dropping off a resident. When we got to the guard house he just gave my address and sped away when the gate was lifted. I asked how much I owed and then he put on the screen that was facing me for the back seat. I informed him I was paying by credit card and he brought up the screen for a tip. I said I was not giving him a tip. He finished processing my card and then took the luggage out of the back and placed it on the street. I informed him the speed limit was 20 mph and to make a left turn out of the driveway. He was gone very fast. What an experience. I really want a refund. read more

The day of pick-up (4am scheduled), I was outside by my door at 3:50am. I waited until 4:10am to call and ask where my cab was. Dispatch said cab was 5 min away. I waited another 20min and I called again. I told them if the cab wasn't here in 10 min I would just call another cab. 4:45am and I called another company. Everyone was busy this morning. I called them back and asked where my cab was, I had my confirmation #, even logs of when I called to reserve my ride. Finally this guy screeches up to my door at 5:15am...Tells me to "get in, I'm late cause I was taking a nap in the cab...." I jump in with no other option. He takes off in the wrong direction and asks me which way he should go...seriously?! I tell him. He says "oh you have tattoos you must like rock music". I tell him "... I'd like it quite". loud music proceeds anyway. He asks when my flight is. "Its at 9am." "oh well you have plenty of time, its not a problem I was late!" I put on my headphones to calm down... We get to the airport and he turns to me and says "well my card machine doesn't work, you have cash?" "Yes, but not much" "well...uummm.... there must be an ATM somewhere we can drive too..How much do you owe me anyway?" At this point I couldn't take it. I handed him $40 which is more than I should have given him anyway, and said "Here, this is the most ridiculous ride ever, I need to leave." If I would've stayed longer I would have yelled at him. I can't believe my experience! 1 hour late due to driver napping in cab, asked me for directions, card machine didn't work (he wanted to drive me to an ATM!!!!!!!!!), and then didn't know what to charge anyway... I've only used them a few times; punctual, haven't had any problems, and rates are comparable to Uber. My family (who live in Chicago) recommend 303 over other cab companies. The negative reviews are concerning, but I imagine there's people (like my family) who haven't had problems but haven't left a review The last time, I booked a ride online for the following day; didn't get confirmation until 1 hour before, which felt a little last-minute, but maybe that's how they all do it. I'll admit this is weird, but for my ride I initially didn't book with 303 Taxi. I actually booked GoAirportExpress, and they dispatched a driver from this company. How strange is that? I can't say anything bad about 303 Taxi. The cab was clean and didn't smell. They driver was totally prompt, friendly, and got us to our destination in a timely fashion. I have no clue what his name is, but he is a large man who enjoys horse racing and fishing. We convinced him to try to take a trip to New Jersey! I really hope he got paid, too, because we were prepaid with GoAirportExpress. read more

303 Cab doesn't even rate a 1 star. We had a confirmation for a pickup early on Oct. 13th, reservations made several days before the 13th. On the morning of the 13th, 303 didn't show up and I called to see where they were with our confirmation# and was told they were "working on it" and then dispatch told me a confirmation # doesn't mean they guarantee a ride. I think maybe 303 needs to look up the definition of confirmation. We ended up driving and parking at OHare which cost us $242.00 because we couldn't get a cab at last minute early in the morning. I am considering filing Small Claims. NEVER will we use 303 again and will write reviews on all local towns facebook pages. read more

Do not use 303 Taxi. My daughter left a bag in the front seat of one of their taxis on 1/6/18. I called within hours and have received nothing but a runaround for a week. We paid with an airline voucher so they would have been able to track down the driver, if not by the destination drop off address. I've left 4 messages for the lost and found department but they haven't returned my calls. Sad they want to steal from a teenage girl. read more

I haven't had to use a taxi in a while, now I understand why companies like Uber and others are successful. Requested a taxi online the night before. Ask the taxi to text me 10 minutes before arrival. Well that didn't happen. The driver called when he arrived at my door. I told him that I would be right out in 10 minutes since he didn't text as requested. Well, 7 minutes later, I went out and the taxi was gone!! No call, text, just left. Really!! How unprofessional. I called the company and they said he was already out of the area,. Really, in 7 minutes. Why have a reservation if they don't stand by it?? Unless you know the driver personally, I wouldn't recommend, and even then take caution and have a plan B. read more

Don't use this service. I called them last year on behalf of my daughter, who was flying out to Colorado to visit a college campus. I paid via the app. When the driver showed up, he asked about payment and I told him I had already prepaid in the app. He also harangued my daughter for a tip all the way to the airport (I had already given her cash in advance for this, which she gave him when they arrived). Later that day, I discovered I had been charged two fares for a one-way trip because the driver was an asshat and didn't believe I had prepaid. I tried to call customer service several times to remove one of the charges but got a "voicemail full" message every time. There was no other way to reach them. They royally suck. Don't use them. Edited to add: I've been reading other negative reviews and am not surprised. Maybe someone should report them to the state attorney general's office for their business practices. read more

The drivers refused to honor a senior citizen voucher subsidized by the township. They demanded cash, plus a tip that would be equivalent to the regular non-discounted fare. (I carry very little cash.) They were rude and uncooperative. One insisted that what I had was not a voucher. "If it's not a voucher, then what is it?" I asked. In an intimidating voice, he boomed, "IS A COUPON!" He was a big guy and he basically scared me out of taking 303 taxi again. Which is probably what he wanted. read more

On Tuesday, 22Jan19, I called this taxi company to reserve a pick-up for the next day on Wednesday, 23Jan19 at 5:30am. At 5:28am on pick-up day, I called the company, and the automated prompt gave me the cab number and connected my call to Driver 8622 who said he was twelve minutes away. My end point was the train station to catch a scheduled BNSF train ride. I told him to cancel the reservation because I will miss the train due to his unexcused tardiness.
