I figured that would keep me busy until I could get back to this area. After I purchased the books I got back to my home here and realized that I have already read 12 of the books I just got. I am hoping that they will let me do a close to even exchange for ones I haven't read. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will and this bookstore will be a 6 star shop in my book. lol! I love that it's locally owned by a female entrepreneur, I love the mission, and I especially love the demeanor of the shop owner. All that being said, I can see how with one person only managing the store, there might be a little bit of a wait because the business owner does her best to give everyone the time and attention that they want and need. Or if the one person in the shop doesn't hear the alarm go off when someone enters and then said person makes zero noise, that person may not get any attention. Well-organized, vibrant, easy to navigate BIG selection of things from nostalgic toys, games, books, collectibles... you name it....Ghostbusters, Mario, Star Wars, Hot Wheels, My Little Pony, Funko, etc. I'm not well-versed in the super nerdy things but my friend is and he goes nuts in here. The owner is really nice and is very knowledgeable about the products (which are more than reasonably priced). The owner is so knowledgeable in fact, that he takes part in the local Ventura Theater Toy Con twice a year (I believe he's the main guy behind it) which is SO SO much fun and I scored lots of unique things there last year. If you have not been, it is a must and happening this Saturday, June 22nd at 10am! That's what I lived for. Salzer's always was THE place and it still is. They are the only one to survive. Every other record store is long gone. A distant memory. You don't last as long as they have unless you're doing something right. They do it right. Top to bottom. Any time family or friends would come to town, they always wanted to go to Salazar's. I've spent countless hours flipping through all their albums. If you had the time, you could find some gems. Always more than helpful. Knowledge that's unmatched. I still love going in that store and every time I do.....it brings back memories of another lifetime.
