The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

I ordered the beef hotpot and my friend ordered the steamed dumplings. My meal was good. They brought out the side veggies which consisted of radish, ginger, kimchi, broccoli and one other item(brain fart here). They were all good and pickled. The kimchi was spiced but I could eat it with the rice. The beef was really good and seasoned just right with that sweet tangy flavor. I will say the steamed dumplings weren't my favorite as it had no taste and I wasn't a fan of the sauce. My friend wasn't into them either but it's based on individual taste so you may think otherwise. We were seated and served pretty quickly. The restaurant seemed fairly clean and the food was reasonably priced. To me the beef pot was really for 2 people if you don't mind sharing one pot of rice.

Service was great too. An older sweet Korean female was helping us.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I decided to go here today for dinner. Parking was…read moreslightly difficult to find, being that it's a shared parking lot. In having to wait a few minutes, I did manage to find an available parking spot. For dinner I decided to have a nice and warm bowl of beef ramen. That beef ramen was great on this cool and cloudy day. I love the ambiance within this restaurant, because the service was very good and they were so welcoming today. I'm definitely returning here to try out their Banchan and Kimchi pancake. I saw that today, and it really good.

Kim's Korean BBQ offers some very delicious food, with a couple of highlights and minor quirks that…read moremake it stand out. We ordered the squid stir fry and pork ribs, and the flavors were great, but there were some differences in the dishes. Squid stir fry: This dish was incredible--definitely the best in Jacksonville. The squid was tender and perfectly cooked, not chewy at all. The stir fry had an amazing balance of spices, and there were no fillers like rice cakes or too many vegetables drowning out the squid's flavor. The dish was packed with flavor, and each bite was a combination of savory, spicy, and a slight sweetness that complemented the seafood perfectly. It was the standout dish of the meal and one I'll definitely be coming back for. Pork ribs: While the ribs were tender, they were too sweet for my liking, and the flavor felt a bit one-dimensional. The sauce was heavy on the sweetness, which made the ribs feel a little cloying after a while. They could benefit from a bit more balance with some acidity or spice. In terms of portions, Kim's Korean BBQ is generous. The rice comes in a half bowl, so you'll need to order more if you're craving extra, and the Bonchon (fried chicken) is only available with a full meal or as an additional charge, which is something to keep in mind. The prices are on the pricier side, especially when compared to other Korean places in town, but the taste and authenticity make it worth it. The owners are Korean and will speak to you in Korean if you're comfortable with the language. The staffing was a little overwhelmed, as the lady owner seemed to be doing most of the work, and at one point, you could hear her directing her husband at the register to assist with various tasks. This led to a bit of a longer wait for the food, but it was understandable given that they were a bit understaffed. One thing I really appreciated was the cleanliness of the place. Kim's is one of the cleaner Korean restaurants in the area, which is always a plus. Despite the staffing hiccups and the slightly sweet pork ribs, the overall experience was great. I'll definitely be coming back for that squid stir fry and to try more of their authentic dishes!

But you can't eat the wallpaper. I'm looking at this chicken and I'm confused. I thought we were doing something sophisticated, but they brought out those boneless nuggets you find in the back of the freezer at 2:00 AM. Then they hit it with a drizzle of ketchup like it's a consolation prize. This isn't Korean Fried Chicken; it's a school lunch with a passport. It's dishonest. Then you got the pork belly. I don't know if this pig was an athlete or if it's just been sitting back there since the grand opening, but it's got the texture of a pink eraser. I'm chewing and chewing, just waiting for a flavor that never shows up. My jaw is doing a full-body workout. I didn't come here for a survival mission, I came here for a snack. And please, watch yourself when you pull up. There is a pothole in the lot that looks like a portal to another dimension. An asteroid literally made a home in front of the building. If you hit that thing, your car is staying there forever. The service is elite and the chairs are nice, but the kitchen is confused. It's style over substance. Take a picture for the 'gram, say hi to the nice server, and then go get a burger somewhere else. Don't do this to your suspension or your stomach.
