When questioned he said that it was because of the pricing of the 'best,' avocados (I work at a grocery store; our current cost for one avocado is $0.60, so I find that incredibly unlikely). The man was stammering at the end of the interaction, which further solidified for me that he was being dishonest. All that to say, you shouldn't support a business who is dishonest about the way they conduct their business, especially when they do so in an economy where people are struggling generally; my recommendation is to give your money to a place that doesn't lie to their customers.
