Dude, this is how a burrito should taste. First things first, this is what our order was: - Me, Pastor Burrito - My wife, California Burrito - My son, Chori Pollo Burrito - My daughter, Steak Nachos Holy wow. So first, my burrito... I'm so used to burritos ultimately tasting the same no matter which one I choose, just different meats really. But this one, well, whatever that pork was marinated in just gave the whole burrito a unique flavor and made it taste unlike any burrito I've had before. If I had one complaint about mine? More pineapple. Each bite that I had with pineapple in it was a perfect sweet and savory contrast and I wanted more of that. The California Burrito was enjoyed by my wife and I got to try it as well - completely different flavor from my burrito, which is the way it should be. I'm ashamed to admit that I had yet to have a proper Cali burrito until today and fries belong in a burrito. My son enjoyed the Chori Pollo, though we're discovering more and more that he...just doesn't really like tortillas. That said, he loved the filling. Methinks next time, we go for the Black Bean Bowl, which is essentially the same thing, sans tortilla. Then my daughter... When those Steak Nachos came out, I thought to myself, "There's no way in hell she finishes these..." and this was true, because they were huge and she is small. But just barely true. Only a small amount came home with us and she finished it up as a snack later in the day. When we were eating, she said could almost cry because it was so good. If you look at one of my other reviews, this is apparently my daughter's indicator that something is REALLY GOOD to her. I tasted some too and she's not wrong, these were delicious - the steak, the cheese, the guac, it just all worked in tandem beautifully. I'm guessing this is a family-run business just based on the staff I saw and they just knocked it out of the park with each item we had. Can't wait to try some more the next time we're in Mooresville. Maybe street tacos? Birria tacos? Or even some of those amazing-sounding hot dogs (yes, bacon wrapped hot dogs at a Mexi-Cali joint!)? Whoever was at the front about 10 minutes ago (05-18-2026 at 4:30pm or so) lied when confronted about the pricing on their Doordash listing versus their in-restaurant pricing, telling me that Doordash charges them 30% to use the service. This doesn't make sense; Doordash charges a maximum of 6% for pickup orders, and we ordered for pickup. I initially questioned their pricing because they charge almost $6 on Doordash for a 3.5oz cup of guacamole, and iirc around $4.30 after tax in restaurant. It was over a dollar upcharge. When questioned he said that it was because of the pricing of the 'best,' avocados (I work at a grocery store; our current cost for one avocado is $0.60, so I find that incredibly unlikely). The man was stammering at the end of the interaction, which further solidified for me that he was being dishonest. All that to say, you shouldn't support a business who is dishonest about the way they conduct their business, especially when they do so in an economy where people are struggling generally; my recommendation is to give your money to a place that doesn't lie to their customers. read more

My hopes were pretty high for this place because I hear a lot of great things about it. Maybe tonight they were off but I can't say I will be going back. The burrito I received was pretty run of the mill, nothing special at all. In addition to that they got our order incorrect but it was too far to drive all the way back to straighten things out so we made due with what we had. Food is just OK nothing exciting not even close to great. The wait staff is extremely rude. While waiting on my food, I went to the restroom. The wait staff put my food on a random table not knowing where I was going to sit. After I sat down the server asked me to move tables rather than bringing the food to me. I was served chip's and salsa. However the salsa was served in this very small plastic container like you would get from McDonald's to put ketchup in from one of those pump stations. I asked for an extra salsa to put on my burrito and was told that would be an extra charge. So, I had to choose from using the salsa on my burrito or with the chips. I can't get down with this place and their management mainly. Food, well it's ok, sometimes slightly better than ok, and their salsa is the best part UNTIL you have to pay .50 each for the tiniest cup. Mainly the owner seems disinterested in the customers and today as my son screamed in anguish after he accidently dipped his chip in the wrong, very hot, salsa, I saw the owners posture and response as he sat on his bar stool on the phone but kept looking like it was a big put out and inconvenience that a three year was crying in pain!!! Perhaps a check in woulda changed my perspective but this is my third less than favorable experience over their money gouging and not so friendly staff but now I see that leadership bleeds down and if the top isn't in order, the shop isn't in order either. read more

Absolutely 5 stars - food and service was on point! Small establishment on the end of a strip mall, and a small dining hall. Service was good, staff was very friendly and customer focused. We all ordered so many different menu items which was nice so we could taste different flavors. All of the dishes were plentiful, flavorful and packed with great ingredients. Highly recommend. I spent 103 dollars on Uber cause I've heard great things about this place. They allowed someone to come in and take my order when I called to figure out what was taking so long they said someone had came and picked it up and that somebody else after them came and tried to pick it up. I called support this Uber so they were not very helpful but I finally got the order canceled. I was gonna re-order it and I called and asked if they could make sure that whoever comes in there shows them the right stuff to pick up the food she hung up on me was very disrespectful. read more

Get in the car and go get some grub. Amazing place for great tacos, service, and nice Tex-mex decor set up. My only qualm would be to add perhaps homemade horchata with a dairy free option but that's too much to ask lol. Overall, great place for grub. Street tacos are expected for the Carolinas. I'm a bit biased as I have been to Tijuana and southern Cali for street tacos. The steak is like ground beef almost. And the tortillas are very thick. A Facebook group I belong to recommended this place saying that it had California Style Tex Mex. I'm not sure if that's true, but the food here is fantastic! And the service is even better! It's tucked in an unassuming almost defunct strip mall in Mooresville, and when you pull into the parking lot just look where all of the cars are congregated...that's where you need to be. You order at the counter and then they'll bring your order to you. That's not always my favorite model for a restaurant, but when I'm here on a quick lunch break, I love the casualness of it and paying upfront so I can be in and out as fast as I want. The server at the front who takes the orders is the MOST awesome human. He's funny too! I asked him if I could have a fruit punch with my order and his answer was "of course you can, this is America." Love the big booths that flank the restaurant's walls, so comfy! I opted for a table in the middle today since it was the only thing open and clean. Still comfy! The restaurant has a fun vibe, too. Lots of cool posters and stuff hanging on the walls to stare out while you wait on your food. Ahhh, the food: YUMMY! I got fish tacos. They were so good! Battered and fried, they weren't diet food, but so worth it. They are served with a jalapeno crema, cabbage, and diced tomatoes. Simple and perfect. They are served with Chips and Salsa, and I opted to add on guacamole and queso. Which was the smartest thing I'd done that day. The guacamole was incredibly fresh and chunky with diced tomatoes. So very good! The salsa has a smoky taste from the chipotle. The queso was creamy and spicy, too. I could have just gotten that and been happy! I can't wait to take my Mexican food-loving kids back! Not as good as it used to be Don't know what happened but this place used to be excellent. they focused on simple Mexican Street Food and let the contrast in taste, and textures speak for themselves. Now it's attempt to pile on as much as you can of as many different ingredients. not all of which compliment each other. Stopped for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Nice place with festive atmosphere. You order at the counter and they bring your meal out to you. To control the flow, the hostess has been known to step away front the counter to allow the kitchen time to catch up. I ordered the Taco Loco which was adobo steak, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, cotija cheese and chipolte creama. Contrasting but not complementing flavors. Portion size is huge to the point that is is a sloppy proposition eating, particularly when you pick it up, the crema serves as a lubricant and everything want to slide off. This is a case where they needs to go back to what they used to do and do well. That is served traditional Mexican Street Dishes and let the native taste and textures speak for themselves. Went to Burrito Loco for the first time today. It was good. The steak nachos were good, very fresh. The steak was a little spicy for me, but I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff. My husband got the chicken quesadilla and the chicken wasn't too spicy so I'll probably just ask for chicken instead of steak next time. The guacamole was very good. The queso isn't the usual white queso you see at Mexican restaurants. I didn't like it quite as much, but it was good. The restaurant was pretty busy but not overly crowded. Service was friendly and fast. Nice atmosphere. Overall, I'd recommend this place. We'll be back again. read more

The flavors of the food and the restaurant decor are nicely put together. Had the campechano tacos and shrimp tacos. The campechano was well made, but I bit into a pork bone that was in one of my tacos. The habanero mango shrimp taco was more habanero and not much mango taste. The food is well executed , just a bit pricey for what you get. The restaurant can be a little cleaner to my liking, tables could use a scrub to eliminate the slight stickiness feel. I love Mexican food--especially authentic tacos--and constantly seek out places that are renowned for them. So, I was excited to hear that the owner of Prickly Pear had opened a new fast-casual Mexican place called Burrito Loco. Of course, I had to try the tacos! Burrito Loco is similar to Chipotle, Salsarita's and Qdoba in concept, but different in execution. At Burrito Loco, you order at the counter and take a seat. Your food is made fresh, and they will bring it to you when ready. My wait was less than five minutes. So, what did I get? I chose two orders of tacos, including two tacos in each, for just $5.50 (per order): 1) Loco - adobo steak, jack cheese, guacamole, pico, green onions, cotija cheese, and chipotle crema 2) Fish - tempura battered fish, cabbage, pico, and poblano tartar sauce Each order came with chips and salsa. I also got the salsa trio for $1.50, which has a few different salsas. I'm a huge fan of Prickly Pear's salsa and while I'm not sure any of these were the same recipe, all were quite good. Authentic tacos are served on corn tortillas, and that's how Burrito Loco served theirs. Their tacos were generously filled. While I usually go for carnitas (pork) tacos, I think the adobo steak tacos rival some of the best carnitas tacos I have had. (I actually chose the steak over the pork because they have cheese, while the pork tacos do not.) The steak was cut into small pieces and was very crispy. The cheese, guacamole, and crema added great flavor. What was really unique, though, was that they doubled up on the corn tortillas, and melted some of the cheese in between. Double yum! The fish tacos each came with a generous piece of tempura fish. I don't know what kind of fish it was - I can only tell you it was good. The tartar sauce was a nice addition and added to the flavor. There are other options on the menu, such as burritos (ranging from $5.50 to $6) and quesadillas (ranging from $6 to $7). I might break away from my taco habit to try them in the future, but then again, I might not. Other unique options are the chipotle burger and a mexican dog, both for just $5.50. The atmosphere is simple but clean and comfortable. Service is also attentive and friendly. They have a lot of booths and well-spaced tables, so you don't feel like you are siting on top of your neighbor. All in all, Burrito Loco serves fantastically delicious authentic tacos. And with prices so reasonable, I can easily become a regular! read more

I should have known better when they said they were out of Carnitas, but the cook said "no I can make it" First my order arrived to the table with onions in which I clearly stated I wanted none of, then the so called Carnitas was so dry that I had to wash it down with soda or I would have choked! When they corrected the order the pork was still beyond dry and definitely not marinated all day like Carnitas should be.
