We decided to give this place a try because they advertise with the Charlotte Checkers AHL team. First impression would lead you to believe there is not very many seats, however there was plenty of seats! The decor is lovely. If you like hot sauce, every table has plenty of options! First time here and parking is very minimal, not too many on their property. They do have parking towards the side and back but it's gravel. It's a nice mom and pop place. They seem very nice and family oriented. The food was delicious. Nothing to complain about. Taco is pretty authentic and you can't go wrong with their prices. Beats any other Mexican restaurant around. The service was good. Ambiance is like a chill family spot. First time coming here. Have always seen billboards on highway about it, so I figured I'd give it a try. It is a quirky little place just off the back roads highway. Small restaurant with plenty of color. There's plenty of outdoor seating as there is a large deck that runs the length of the restaurant. The inside is not too bad either with plenty of booth seating. We got started with the complementary chips and salsa, which were very good. We also added the small queso dip, which was some of the best I've had at a restaurant. For dinner I ordered the Costillas chimichanga (slow cooked pulled ribs) and my wife had the costillas flautas. Mine was okay except for the several bone and tough gristle pieces from the shredded rib meat, which turned me off from eating much more. Also note the chimichanga was not fried fresh when ordered as it was just warmed up and had a soggy fried shell exterior. The flautas were ok, as they were fried fresh and crispy, but frier oil was old as the oil on the exterior tasted burnt. My in-laws ordered the quesadillas one ground hamburger meat and the other carne Asada meat. The quesadilla with carne Asada meat, I am told was good with no issues, but the quesadilla with ground beef was soggy and wouldn't hold together also dripping grease. We did have a churro for dessert which seemed to be fresh and tasted very good. No issues there. The quality of food here seems to be very sporadic as some dishes are very good and others are lack luster. The service from the wait staff seems to be very good and attentive. Undecided on whether I'll be back here though. read more

The spot was really cute, but the food just wasn't very good. I got a pastor taco which was okay but not great, the rice was very bad, the cheese quesadilla was okay, but it had yellow cheese that didn't melt the way the correct cheese would've. Lastly the churros were burnt and so so hard we couldn't eat them. Maybe it was a bad day, but def not a place I feel the need to return to. read more

Wanted to give this place a try since it's right off the main road in Troutman. The outdoor seating looked nice, but the weather invited us indoors. It has a homely ambiance when you walk in; the staff are polite, despite being busy. They were off to a good start, but we were seated in the rear section of the restaurant and were promptly forgotten about; in fairness, they did get quite busy between the two people we did see working, so I wasn't too bothered for it. It pains me to say this because the place is really cute and everyone was super nice, and I WANT to love a local place, but.... I would not go here again. Ever. They never brought me my drink after reminding them 3 or 4 times. We didn't get a single refill the whole time. My husband didn't get his meal and they didn't even notice. After we told them, it took probably 20 mins for them to get back with us and then they made it wrong! Like way wrong! We had to take it to go, and when we got home it wasn't even close to what he'd ordered lol. My parent's food was bad as well. My carnitas sopes were pretty good. Authentic family run Mexican restaurant off the main road in Troutman. Worth the slight detour from I77. I had one of the house specialties called Choripollo: Grilled chicken, chorizo, onion, green and red peppers topped with cheese dip. Served with rice, beans, salad and tortillas Chicken was cooked perfectly and it was very tasty. My companions got the burritos, which are quite large and come covered in cheese sauce. One had shredded chicken and the other had the pulled rib meat. They were both happy with them and ended up taking half home for another meal. This is located on the south side of Troutman on the way to Mooresville. It's brightly colored and happy outside with a huge deck, you can't miss it. (Unfortunately the parking lot is on the smaller side.) The workers here are super cheerful and quite helpful. They have a lot of regulars here. We noticed a few tables didn't even order, their food was just brought out! They have a great breakfast menu here. We had the Huevos con chorizo (scrambled eggs w/Mexican sausage) that came with tortillas, beans and rice. It was delicious, filling and very affordable. We haven't run across many Mexican restaurants that serve breakfast and we were excited when we saw the menu. It's a bit out of our way but we are planning on going back soon. Burritos and Ribs is beyond great! We eat there a couple of times of week and have always had great food. I get the Quesadillas and Super ACP while my husband gets the Taco Salad with beef. They are all consistently delicious. The service is very good. Miguel, Ana and their family greet each customer with a smile and make you feel they are glad you are there. This is a great meeting place for friends. My church circle meets there on occasion and being from Troutman, we frequently run into friends. I wish I could use more than 5 stars. read more

Heard great things about this spot and decided to finally drive up to Troutman for dinner. The weather was perfect for outside seating. The food was excellent and the menu had many options. Will definitely be back to try the many other dishes. We had a burrito and the ACP. Both were delicious with large portions to take some home for another meal. The salsa was also good. The parking lot is small for the size of the place and there were a lot of to-go orders when we were there with people just parking their cars in the middle to run in. There have been at least three and probably four different restaurants in this location over the years. Last one was Peruvian and closed and a Mexican Restaurant has opened in it's place. Name is Burritos N Ribs but never did see any Ribs on the Menu. I know it's been at least six months since it opened but just now got a chance to give it a try. It's on US Hwy 21/NC Hwy 115 about one mile south of downtown Troutman off of Exit 42 on I-77 Walked and was immediately seated. Server was out with menus and they do have an extensive offering of various type of Mexican Cuisine. After much debate, I ordered the Three Carnitas Taco Plate. Chips and Salsa in a plastic cup came our first. Chips where nice and hot and fresh but the Salsa needs work Very watery and little heat The pork was a bit dry but still tasty. Served with lime, onion, radishes and grilled poblano pepper for garnish. The Salsa Verde was like the regular Salsa, thin and watery and little heat and also in a plastic cup. Food was very good except the pork was a bit dry and the two Salsa's definitely need work but other with good.
