I preferred the roofing material brand and available color options. He even climbed up to the roof and placed the sample shingles down so that I was better able to see how it would actually look. He made sure the scheduling of different crews went smoothly and he came by every day to check on the progress which included the old gutter and roof removal, new roof and gutter installation, and even the power-washing and staining of my privacy fence. During the process of taking the shingles off, Bauer immediately found our issue with rotten boards and open gaps left uncorrected by the last roofing company less than 8 years ago. They discussed the situation with us and showed us pictures of what was causing the leaks and immediately went to replacing the boards and fixing the gaps. After the roof was replaced, they quickly cleaned up the yard and made sure that we had no nails or debris. We have a pool and they even made sure that no flying debris landed in the pool. I really appreciated their policy of waiting for enough dry weather to actually finish... (especially when watching the exposed wood-composite of two of my neighbors get rained upon because their contractor was apparently more interested in schedules than the home they were working on). Sometimes James was difficult to get on the phone but he always, without fail, communicated via email, text or callback within 2-12 hours, sometimes quicker. The crew showed up timely, did great work, cleaned up daily and they were done on schedule. They were all very friendly and courteous and respectful of us and our property. This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a contractor. We were never given a written breakdown, no follow-up invoices, and after discussing what happened, they threatened us with a lien on our home. The owner, Ryan, has shown zero professionalism or ethics throughout the process. He talks smooth at the beginning to earn your trust, but completely changes tone when you push back or ask questions.
