    Skinny marg!

First time today. Probably the best Mexican we've had in NC!! We bombarded them after a school play was over. We got seated quickly. Had drinks quick. And food was quick. Everything was hot and so very tasty!! The wait staff are so nice and very accommodating!!! They handled the crowd like a boss!! Highly recommend!

This place was really great so much flavor. I was really impressed with the Nachos Rancheros. The plate was piled high with chicken and Mexican sausage covered in cheese sauce. The food came out super fast and the staff ensured we had everything we needed. Great place to relax and have a good meal with friends. So glad we have this place another try.

Maiden does not have a huge variety when it comes to restaurants, so I was excited to see this Mexican restaurant open up. We visited on a day when no one else was in the restaurant, so perhaps that was my first clue? The waiter who seated us was brusque, but ended up bringing us everything we needed in a timely manner. He wasn't the friendliest, and carried on a loud phone conversation for most of our visit, and while he was waiting on our table. The food was good. It wasn't great, but it was good. The salsa was fine, not the best I've had. The chips tasted as if they were cooked in old oil. The cheese dip was really good, thin and creamy. The chimichanga was just fine. The interior was surprisingly clean for such an old building. They've really done a great job with what they had to work with inside, even the bright paint colors work. We'll be back to see if this was an off visit since it was close to Christmas, but for now, this is a middle of the road experience.

Delicious, great service and very reasonable price! I got the steak chimichanga and liquid marijuana drink.... Both AMAZING and large portions. Green salsa was good and hot and red was very mild if you don't like heat. Will be back!

Not the best, but it'll do if you're stuck in Maiden. Crowded little dinning room , but they try real hard.

The…read moreentire building has character with really lovely decorations that speak to the culture. I think that there is only outdoor seating (covered and not covered), so while it is not the largest restaurant (even less parking but since it is downtown, you can find other parking nearby), it seems like it has enough tables (which were really big) for most days. In terms of the service... we were waiting for our "waitress" until we found out that there is no table service (other than someone initially asking you for your drinks/appetizers when you sit down) as you have to manually go up to the cashier (friendly), order using a QR code to access their menu, and pay from there. So we sat there for a while really confused. But once we were told to do that (and to be fair, we might have not heard the full instructions clearly when we first entered), the food came out in a timely manner. I do think that the service could have been better; for instance, our waters were never refilled and we were not really checked up on during our dine-in experience. It might have been an off day since a lot of reviews praise their service. We got a variety of food, including Chips & Guacamole and Churros to share while for myself, I got the Burrito California and Sope. The Chips & Guacamole were really good! The guacamole was seasoned well and the chips tasted very fresh. We were also given a side of salsa, which was a bit spicy. I will say that this place does not seem to offer complimentary chips and salsa like other spots. The Churros were delicious! Very sugary and warm; I liked how doughy the inside was when it first came out. As for my entrees... I got the Sope with Chicken. This was my first time having Sope and I expected it to have more flavor to it. It tasted a bit bland, although the chicken pieces did help elevate the taste. As for the Burrito California, it tasted decent. It was stuffed with rice and potentially needed more fries, but it also lacked some flavor. If I added meat, that might have helped with the taste. I will say that the green sauce at my table saved my entrees as it really added a nice kick to everything. While I wish there were more spices in my food, I kind of liked that it was not too salty (in comparison to similar spots). Overall, I would probably give Las Isabelas a 3.5/5 stars. It did not wow me, but I think it is a solid spot to hit up in the area. They have a vast menu, so I could see myself coming back in the future to try other items.

Now working and staying where we do, you know we're blessed with some of the best Mexican food on earth, but in Hickory, North Carolina?, and it was seafood too....whaaaaaaaaat?, nooooooo! way!! Yes Way!! Oh Lawd, El Vallartazo was EPIC!! We had a large order crab Nayarit, way too much for two people and a pescado guajillo & garlic red snapper, fried to perfection!! Again, way too much for two people... I need to mention the tostadas with ceviche along with the two salsas that are both served before the meal are absolutely amazing!! Now what impressed me the most was of course how fresh and delicious the food was but even more so it was the hospitality that made this evening so nice. From the time we walked in and sat down to the end of the meal when we were the only ones in the restaurant because they were actually closed at this point, but never made us feel rushed the entire experience was great!!

Got there around 1:30 pm and was a bit surprised. Based on the number in cars in the parking lot, I expected a less than full house. Not sure where they parked but restaurant had a very good lunch crowd. Walked in and was immediately seated and my server took my drink order. I just ordered my regular Unsweetened Tea with Lemon. Before I ordered, I asked if I could substitute beans for the rice. Funny thing being that while I was raised in the South, never acquitted a taste for rice. Was told I could which is what I expected so I went ahead and ordered. For my main, I ordered a Steak Quesadilla Fajitas along with the beans in question and Crema Salad. Did not have to wait long before it was brought to my table. Started with the customary Nacho Chips and Salsa. Nice bit of heat but not overpowering. Portions are generous and the food is excellent, Nice and hot right out of the over. The Steak Quesadilla Fajita was excellent thought a bit greasy. The beans were very good and not cooked to a mush and the Crema Salad was nice and fresh. I took a little of the Salsa along with a bit of my Salad added it on top of the Quesadillas. Made a nice compliment to each other. My server was excellent and did a great job. She was there whenever I needed her and out of sight when she was not. This restaurant in tucked into a little strip mall next to a Food Lion. Very clean and well organized and from what I could see, very well managed.
