Heartbroken by the Lack of Compassion After Years of Loyalty…read more I was a loyal customer for sometime even back when the salon had the old yellow paint and worn décor. I'd drive over an hour and a half each way just to support their business. Sometimes I brought my 93-year-old grandmother, who is blind, along with her sitter. She would quietly rest while I got my hair done, and I often paid extra to have her hair washed and styled too, just to keep her comfortable. One visit, right after the remodel, I brought my grandmother and her sitter (who also got serviced) because I had a funeral to attend the next day. My grandmother, tired from the long drive, dozed off in the waiting area. The owner and other staff called my stylist out several times, saying it "wasn't a good look" to have her sleeping there and that they "didn't want her dropping any slob out of her mouth onto their new pillows." That was humiliating and deeply disappointing. I had always paid well, tipped generously, and brought them new clients. What hurt most is that the owner, a breast cancer survivor, of all people, should understand compassion and dignity, especially toward the elderly. After my daughters posted honest reviews, my stylist, clearly upset "accidentally" burned my ear with a curling iron. That was the last time I went back. I supported this salon, but the humility that once made it special vanished with the renovation. I'll never forget how they treated a 93-year-old woman who simply needed a moment to rest.
