I hope I'm writing this review for the right business!  Budget Blinds are a franchise so I can't be…read morequite sure.  We worked with John and Marla and maybe it was just luck but I'm grateful we found them. After getting a quote from The Shade Store, I wasn't quite sold.  Their initial quote for our shades seemed extremely overpriced for what we wanted and the lack of customer service was a huge turnoff.  After they came and made the measurements, I didn't hear back from them for over a week, even after I called. My husband and I bought a beautiful new home with tons of windows.  Luckily, most of the windows face our courtyard and not the front nor back of the house, which allow us incredible amounts of light but with much desired privacy.  We can walk around butt naked in the middle of the day without scaring people.  After moving from downtown LA, living in a loft, the light was a welcome change.  Even tho we want to keep our home light and airy, we still need to block the sunlight at times in the bedrooms and media room.  We didn't want anything ornate nor technical.  I wanted the shades to look seamless with the white walls.  Almost unnoticeable.  The Shade Store kept pushing us for valances which I hate.  They remind me of grandma's house.  I also only wanted blackouts in the guest room and media room.  I wanted to keep our office and master bedroom open and full of light.  What I'm trying to say is, what I desired wasn't about the cost but more about what I wanted.  And what I want is simplicity.  Marla and John from Budget Blinds actually listened to and came through with what we wanted.  Not only did they come under 1000 bucks less (actually more than that) than Shade Store, the shades we chose are of much higher quality.  After the installation, I can not be happier.  Also, as I'm sure everyone has noticed during these crazy covid times,  any purchase take forever to get.  Weeks, if not months.  Our timeline was about 3 to 4 weeks for delivery and installation and here we are 2 weeks later, DONE!John and Marla are just lovely people to work with.  Kind and honest.  They truly want their clients to be happy and satisfied, and we most certainly are. Ok... just found out that Marla and John are the new owners of this location so you should take that into consideration when reading older reviews.

I've had to follow-up with them once (when I was painting a room and wanting instructions for pulling the blind down), and received a quick response. A year in and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Worst experience with this company! Had a backyard blind installed a couple of years ago. The blind…read morecame off the rail. Reached out to the company and was assured it was still under warranty and they'll have someone come out to fix it however, they require a $250 service charge via check which I issued when they arrived. They came and said some parts were needed and they'll come back to fix it. They came back and said it wasn't repairable. Called the office to ask what next and was told the damage was caused by wind therefore, is not covered by warranty. I asked how they knew it was a wind damage as this seems like an assumption and excuse to not fix the damage. The lady I spoke to, can't remember her name. Maybe Jennifer chuckled and said " well I don't know what else could have caused this damage. You're not supposed to have the blinds down because it can't withstand wind more than 25mph". Excuse me??? First of all, we weren't told this. We were told this was a weather resistant blind and how on earth am I supposed to have blinds and expected to keep it up at all times? What is the purpose of the blinds then??? I told her we only keep it down at night and she said, "well, that's when you get the most wind". When else am I supposed to keep the blinds down? During the day when we're sitting in the patio? Or keep it up when it's raining and storming??? These are the times we need the blinds to protect our outdoor furniture and electronics! She did not seem to care at all and said all she could do was give me a quote for a brand new install! Haven't heard back from them since then and they never refunded my $250 either! Very terrible and deceptive company. I'll stay FAR AWAY!!!!

THIS COMPANY DOES NOT WARRANTY THEIR PRODUCT! I have used Classic Home Dallas for my entire house…read moreand never had a problem until I have needed to get a repair for something under warranty. I have both shutters and electronic blinds - all from Classic Homes Dallas. One of my electronic blinds stopped working back in August. I was still within my warranty period so reached out to the company to get my shade repaired. I have been mostly speaking with Jennifer. Over the past 3 months, I have heard every excuse to why my repair is taking so long, ie: we changed our systems, cannot find your original order, the company we used for these shades went out of business, the staff in our office quit (yet again - I think like twice now), we cannot find a motor, we are looking for a separate remote, and the latest, we found a motor and cannot seem to locate the hardware! Every excuse made it seem like it was MY FAULT! And when I asked to speak with the owner, Rick, well, he seems to be on vacation quite often. It took less time to get these ordered and installed the first time than to get 1 simple motor replaced. At this point (after 3 months), a new motor should have been ordered and installed - that would have been the right thing to do since it is under warranty. Not offer to give me a pieced together model that may not hold up! Needless to say, my patience has worn out and on top of it, I have a shade that has been hanging down for 3 months - unable to roll up or roll down!! Not great when it is the back of your house in the hot summer when the sun is going down! Every week that I have spoken with Jennifer, there is a new excuse! And at the end of it all, I still have a broken shade that is under warranty. I am just starting the review/complaint process here and will be making a more formal complaint against this company since I am losing all hope that anything will be done. Just thought I would share my experience for those that are shopping for shades! Product looks great, but you better hope something does not go wrong! Still hopeful that Classic Homes Dallas will do the right thing, but since I am at the 3-month mark, I might just be fooling myself and not dealing with reality!

However, in the den we have a wall full of windows that just happens to allow the sun to blind us as it sets in the evening. The windows are tinted but we decided we really needed something more than that. In addition we needed something basic for a glass door with transom in our laundry room as it was really letting in a lot of heat from the sun. I was able to schedule an appointment for just a few days out and Pam offered great options and exhibited much patience as I waffled back and forth while selecting color/style etc. We ended up going with power solar shades that we could raise and lower with a remote (it IS the den after all, can't be bothered to get up off the couch to lower and raise shades during our favorite TV show, right??) and a simple pull blind for the laundry door. As with all shades, it took a few weeks for them to come in and once they did I received a text with an available time to install them the next day (which worked out and was great). The installer was friendly, worked efficiently and cleaned up leaving no mess. There was a size issue with the transom and before mentioning it to me he'd already notified the office and arranged for a new, proper sized one to be ordered. They've been easy to work with, follow through and are timely. Recommended!
