Well that same day I had another company come out and quote me and I was quoted 6k! I was like oh wow, maybe I can't afford to cover these doors. So Budget Blinds called me the next day, and I said hey, I don't think I can afford blinds. She had me explain what I was looking for and she said, "I'm pretty sure we can beat that." So I was like cool, come on out. They sent Ryan out, who I believe is also the owner, and he was very nice, patient, not salesmenny and understood what I was wanting and pointed me to the exact blinds I picked out earlier with the other group. His quote came in at $2900. Wow! So I was a little nervous there had to be a catch or that install would be terrible. 4 weeks later, the installer comes. I can't remember his name, but he was the nicest kid, and he did an amazing job, asked me to take a look in the middle of the project to make sure I was happy. It was just a really great install. I am extremely pleased with the quality and look of the blinds, and I will use them again when I need more windows covered! P.S. They all love dogs! And my dogs loved them which is a great sign to me!

The process was seamless: I contacted Debbie, we agreed on a time that suited us both, she measured and made recommendations based on my needs. The installer came at the exact time that he indicated he would arrive and let me know the steps and approximate time he would be at my house and gave me a tutorial on how to use the blinds. I always go back to Debbie because I can always expect this level of service. I never feel pressured to fulfill all the quotes that she provides. In fact, I have put several project on hold and returned to them years later, and Debbie has been equally accommodating! One call and a text with a picture of the broken bracket later, and Mark and Nate (the father and son team and store owners) were scheduled to come out the same day to make the repair in my home. They were flexible in scheduling the appointment, replaced all of the original brackets and added an extra to ensure stability, finished the repair in under 20 minutes with absolutely no mess, and charged me $100 total for the new brackets, the installation and labor, and the travel to and from my home. We spent nearly $20,000 with this company in 2022 on window treatments for our new townhome,…read moreincluding motorized Hunter Douglas blinds. One of those blinds failed in the very first summer we owned it. Since then, the company has been out to "repair" the same blind at least ten times. At one point, they shipped it back to Hunter Douglas, leaving us without a window treatment for two of the three months we actually live in the townhome each year. Despite the repeated failures, they have refused to replace the defective blind. Instead, they continue to send technicians out for the same problem, and after year 1 they charge us a service fee every single time. We have pleaded with them to stand behind their product and provide a replacement, but they clearly care more about billing for service calls than actually solving the issue. Their service approach can only be described as "we don't care about our customers." If you are considering using this company, my advice is simple: stay away.

Upon moving in, I had window shutters installed in my bedroom. Nine years later, I really needed…read morenew windows. One unnamed company wanted to charge $200 more than Ewald . This price included $100 to go above three elevator floors. My question was, if you put all your material in the elevator, what's the difference if you go to the second floor or the eighth floor? The more difficult part is getting whatever you need into the elevator. The stipulation was that anything above the third floor was an additional $100, which I refused to pay. Hornak Exteriors recommended Ewald Interiors and all I had to do was take a picture of my window and forward it to them for a quote, which was so convenient. No nonsense about what floor you're on. The person sent to do the job was great, his name is Josh. Josh uninstalled the shutters and after the window installation, he reinstalled the shutters. He was always on time, worked in a timely and clean manner and the shutters look great. Anything needed or any questions, Levi responded immediately. Everyone there was great. Thanks to Ewald for keeping it simple with no bogus charges and really great work!

We had wanted our dining room, living room, and two-story stairwell painted to match the rest of…read moreour lower level. This project included painting some slatted sliding doors, which house our furnace and hot water heater. We also wanted to get 4-inch plantation shutters installed on all of our downstairs windows and in our master bedroom. We also had a few miscellaneous things that the owner said they could help with, including fixing some molding that our previous floor/door installers had left off/too short. The work was scheduled quickly. The painters were so friendly and nice. My elderly dog got sick and they called me at work and let him outside to go potty. The were pretty good with what they painted, but I soon noticed after they left that there was paint splattered on random things--fine sprays of paint on the side of a cabinet, drips on my winter coat hanging in the laundry room, the floors, hardware of the slatted doors, drips between the slats, etc. The molding they had made to fix a previous contractor's boo-boo not only looked awkward, it also wasn't painted. I wish I had said it looked bad at the time he'd shown me before install, but I wasn't really sure how it was going to look after he'd put it in. I'm fairly sure the owner said they'd fix the other door with the same molding issue, but because it wasn't specified on their invoice, I didn't bother to say anything because after all, I wasn't happy with the other one. The shutter installer came a few weeks after the painters once the product arrived. He told me he realized only had received product for one window and the other product needed to be tracked down. Within a few days, it was found and we scheduled another installation date. He came and installed the rest. My husband was home and working and didn't realize that the dining room was missing the split at the 42" mark so we let in light without losing privacy. They came back out again to quickly adjust the shutters. Ewald Interiors came recommended on Facebook to us. Pricing was reasonable based on other quotes we'd received. The house looks better. I love my shutters. I've cleaned up the paint I can. I continue to hate the molding. Would anyone else really notice? Probably not. Would I use Ewald Interiors again? Also, probably not.
