We loved browsing there as well. The service was fantastic and the employees offered us water multiple times throughout our visit, which was so needed in this heat! The items were on the higher side of the middle price range, not too pricey, but definitely enough to not buy everything you see! I prefer this type of mindful shopping. I loved it!

She was an older white woman with short hair. When my sister and I walked in, she didn't greet us. Instead, she looked us up and down and walked away. We immediately felt disrespected, but we decided to continue browsing and see what the store had to offer. After a while, one of the other employees did eventually ask how I was doing, which I appreciated. However, the initial interaction really left a lasting impression. I had heard other women of color share similar experiences at this store, which was actually one of the reasons it took me so long to shop here in the first place. Unfortunately, my experience seemed to confirm the concerns I had heard from others. It's disappointing because the store itself is beautiful and has such a great selection, but the way we were treated made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

I wasn't expecting to fall in love with a children's boutique store, but that's kind of what happened. Every time I go in, I find something that feels just right. The clothes are fun and well made, and still feel like something kids can actually wear and enjoy. The styles have this lovely balance of being classic but still playful. My granddaughter loves the clothes I have bought for her from this adorable shop. And they're not clothes I find at other Dallas children's boutiques. The women who work there go out of their way to help me find the right sizes. And they are genuinely nice and make me feel welcome every time I come in. When I fell in love with an outfit that they didn't have it in the size I needed, they quickly suggested that they could order it for me. Within a week it arrived and they called to tell me it was at the shop. Love this kind of service! And it doesn't stop with the clothes. They carry so many precious toys that I don't find at most stores I go to. Today I bought the cutest stuffed mummy for my grandson for Halloween. And then I saw the most adorable Halloween bag that is being personalized for him. It's orange and white striped with little ghost and candy corn stitched in it. Just too cute!!! If you're looking for baby or children's clothes that are fun, fashionable, and unique - you must stop by Layette! You will not be disappointed.

Anyone who knows me knows that I frequently lament (complain, gripe, bi$%h) to anyone who will listen about the dearth of cute boys clothes available in kids stores. The girls section is always full of glitter and tutus while the boys section is tucked in a corner with a few ugly blue shirts and onesies. But not at Janie & Jack. The store devotes equal square footage to boys and girls selections with a boys area full of some of the most adorable outfits that I've ever seen. I was seriously about to purchase everything they had in my child's size but after my sanity returned, I walked out of the store with a nice ensemble for my baby to wear to church. A must visit for all mommies with boys.

I went home and looked at items online and realized that the prices were actually lower in the store as they were marked down for the end of the season. So the next day I went back up to the store and the items I was looking at were no longer on the floor and I was like dang those were so gorgeous they all sold out. But then I asked the kind lady about those items and she said that they had taken them off the floor and were packing them up to be shipped off but if I wanted to see any of them she would very happily go back and grab them for me. And she did I waffled over what sizes to get and ended up buying multiple ones. Some of the sizes they didn't have in the store but she kindly ordered them off the Internet for me and had them shipped to my home for free. I'm so happy with my purchase. The quality of these clothes is top of the line and the design is exquisite. One thing I noticed feeling all the materials of the clothes is that they are all nice quality materials, beautiful looking AND comfortable. I'm so against other brands that make dressy baby clothes out of cheap materials that are uncomfortable and scratchy. That was not the case in the store all made from fine comfy materials. I only bought clothes from the girls section but I was so amazed at all the beautiful boy closed. Next time I have a boy to buy for I will hit up the shop.
