I started going to Layette a few months ago when I was looking for something special for my granddaughter. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with a children's boutique store, but that's kind of what happened. Every time I go in, I find something that feels just right. The clothes are fun and well made, and still feel like something kids can actually wear and enjoy. The styles have this lovely balance of being classic but still playful. My granddaughter loves the clothes I have bought for her from this adorable shop. And they're not clothes I find at other Dallas children's boutiques. The women who work there go out of their way to help me find the right sizes. And they are genuinely nice and make me feel welcome every time I come in. When I fell in love with an outfit that they didn't have it in the size I needed, they quickly suggested that they could order it for me. Within a week it arrived and they called to tell me it was at the shop. Love this kind of service! And it doesn't stop with the clothes. They carry so many precious toys that I don't find at most stores I go to. Today I bought the cutest stuffed mummy for my grandson for Halloween. And then I saw the most adorable Halloween bag that is being personalized for him. It's orange and white striped with little ghost and candy corn stitched in it. Just too cute!!! I started coming here with my wife when we were shopping for the grandkids. My wife is a boutique kind of person, mainly because she loves the service, unique selection, and value you get from the boutique experience. Layette side not disappoint! This is truly one of the best children's boutiques in the DFW area, and trust me we have been to most of them. The have one of a kind fashions for kids that are adorable. And they must be comfortable, because the kids in our lives love them! They staff has ALWAYS been helpful on EVERY visit, so I was honestly a bit surprised that other reviewers have said it was less than stellar, because stellar is the exact word I would use to describe them. This is just the greatest store- huge selection of really gorgeous special occasion clothes and cool timeless play options, plus gifts! I have no children myself, but many in my life so I rely on the sweet staff to help me choose gifts for everything from birthdays to christenings. The buyer clearly has exceptional taste. It was so odd, like we weren't allowed in with a baby or interrupted the clerk. It was not a good first impression and felt very un-welcoming so we left. read more

The clothes in this store are so cute but the customer service is terrible. I was in the store for 10 minutes without being greeted. I couldn't find the size I needed and was looking for a while on one shelf and not one of the three workers asked if I needed help. The three women were just having a conversation with eachother. These people know so much about baby clothes and are always ready to help you. Their clothes are the most classic in Dallas. I could just spend hours in this store with these fun employees (and I have). Even if you aren't into traditional clothing, they have play clothes and a giant selection of toys and books for all ages. Once you even go into the store, you will be part of their family. Love Layette. They are my go to for "welcome to the world" gifts for friends' babies. I love that they take care of monogramming, wrapping, and shipping for you. My wife just visited Layette. We live in Highland Park, so we are their target customers well as being older parents with 4 grown children in their late 20's to early 30's. She was returning a gift for our new grandson. She was not greeted upon entering this small shop and was then made to feel that she was not welcome. The woman tried several times to let her know that the size was indeed appropriate and that "she should keep it" and " just try it for a while". Now, how would she know that if my grandson was not there? I suggested to my wife that she never return, and make sure that our HP friends and neighbors know about her experience. And to the employee: just because the romper comes with "feet", doesn't mean she should not buy socks! I guess you didn't understand she wanted to use up all the $$ and never come back! I LOVE the boutique! It has unique, yet classic baby and toddler clothing and gifts. There are a couple of salespeople there that always help me to find something fabulous quickly. I also like how they let my small children come in and play even when we aren't really looking for anything in particular. They are also one of the few places to find Rachel Riley clothing. read more

They have the best clothes,especially for boys. It's hard to find unique cute clothes for boys and I think they are one of the better children's boutiques for that. They have also been very helpful in ordering sizes that are not in the store. read more
