I have provided my insurance information 4 times and the one visit still has not been processed through my insurance. Not to mention the hold times on the phone for billing is sometimes over an hour. Date of service 9/20 almost two months ago. This better not hit my credit. I did find a place that was more flexible to a person with a job.

What really got me irritated was I got permission from the office manager to run to my car to get a phone number for my treatment case manager. When I walked back in, I was greeted at the door by one of the MEdical assistants rudely stating "since you left you need to leave another urine sample or you can't see the doctor". I had JUST left one 5 mins prior and was gone for maybe 30-45 seconds. THEN I asked, after two hours of waiting to see the provider, when I would be seen and was given a snoopy comment by another medical assistant and had the door closed on my face. The doctor is nice but if there were other Medication Assisted therapy providers in the area I would take my business elsewhere.

Most problematic for me is the core principle of this place. As I (don't) understand it: we are responsible for our physical pain. We have pain because we think we have pain; It's imaginary, we've chosen it. I asked about a close friend dying of cancer: he only imagines he is in pain? Answer: he probably did have some real pain but not as much as he thought. That's when I gave up.

Illegally. Never got EMDR. Was told not to hug or text clients. Missed appointments due to mistakes in transportation. Almost no free time. And the entire program is based on AA. It is mandated if you live in their housing, not optional.

I had previously had appointments with 7 other psychiatrists who only took 15-30 min to talk with me, and I feel like they didn't actually care, and weren't putting in enough time to get my correct diagnosis. However, Tisha sat down with me for an hour (or more) and really took the time to listen to me, and ask thorough questions. She also took the time to explain (in basic language) what was happening in my brain (and didn't just refer me to online sources like so many others do). She's also not just trying to push pharmaceuticals, and she carefully lays out options and gives patients some autonomy in their own care. Tisha was very clear from the beginning that pharmaceuticals are great, but to really improve, I can't just pop a magic pill. I'd have to make some other lifestyle changes (which she also laid out clearly). I've never met a more THOUGHTFUL and CARING doctor ever. I truly believe she is the gold standard of psychiatric care.
