The first 5 rehabs I looked at in Phoenix and Scottsdale you can not compare to how wonderful this rehab is. This has beautiful private rooms with an en-suite bath AND a private shower. It's hard for me to believe that the Phoenix and Scottsdale rehabs you had to share a room, many were small rooms and some of the rehabs were very shabby. He will be seen by a nurse practitioner or doctor everyday. He will have PT/OT 5x a day. And the nurses have been amazing. What I notice most is, when you push for the call button you don't wait long for someone to come to help. The ratio is 9 to 1 for the nurses. Every single person has the care you would want and expect for your loved one. I drive 20 minutes to get here and I am happy to do so for the outstanding care he needs and is getting.

The case worker wasn't horrible but wasn't the best in my opinion. Everything felt so rushed and for me, there wasn't a clear understanding of several things. Do yourselves a favor and research your insurance and your coverage.

One more piece of advice: stay away from Banner Rehab Hospital. It is best described as a prison, Zero being with any other people, you eat in your room alone, company is in your room, pets are in your room only.; enough said.

They would work with me to accommodate my schedule which I appreciated. My regular tech was Natalie, who was just a doll and very professional. I also engaged with Jess and Lynn who were also great. I always felt welcomed and cared for at this office. They reached out to me when I uncharacteristically missed an appointment without letting them know just to make sure I was ok. TMS is a time commitment for sure, but worth the sacrifice. Natalie and the other techs, certainly made my experience a really good one and I am thankful for that.

They have an impressive gym for those doing physical therapy. We REALLY loved Virginia, Gilbert, Kovita, and Troy. All were so patient and caring. My dad was doing physical therapy for about 2 weeks and I did see a lot of improvement in his upper mobility. Cons: Cant' really pin-point what I disliked about this place but I did feel like the administrative staff wasn't as pleasant. Make sure you are checking on your loved one and that people are doing what they are suppose to be doing. On two occasions when my dad needed help to use the restroom, a person came and said they would return since they needed secondary help. They never came back. My mother informed me of the issue and I texted an administrator. My mother stated that after that people seemed more aware and friendlier. Deann is somewhat friendly but not a good listener. My dad was instructed to cross his legs when being in the wheelchair and he's telling her to please wait for him to cross them and she just continued pushing the wheelchair.... she was too in a hurry. It was genuinely frustrating to watch, as if she was simply ignoring him. For those that get upset about the discharge process, I can't blame you although discharges have nothing to do with the facility itself. That is entirely insurance. Sadly, I feel like there should still be a better and more empathetic way to guide people on what their options are. Thankfully, we had a Plan B for my dad and he was able to return to the facility he was at prior. I just feel like the bedside manner for some employees there is lackluster.

What makes this even worse is the apparent failure of management. There is a clear lack of accountability and organization. Concerns brought forward are brushed aside or met with empty assurances, and no meaningful changes ever seem to follow. It feels like leadership is either unaware of what's happening on the floor or simply unwilling to address it. An elderly care facility should be a place of safety, compassion, and support. Instead, this environment feels cold, chaotic, and, at times, neglectful to the point of being dangerous. Families trust places like this with the care of their loved ones, and that trust is being deeply violated here. I would strongly urge anyone considering this facility to think twice and thoroughly explore other options. No one deserves to spend their final years in a place where their basic needs, and humanity, are treated as an afterthought.
