What stood out most was the selection of cookware, most in really good condition. The displays were thoughtfully put together and added a nice touch. Some of the prices were a bit high, but I saw that they offer discounts on specific days. They also have self checkout , which surprised me, but staff was also nearby in case assistance was needed.

I continue to be impressed with 2nd Ave. thrift superstores as I've been to a few. They are…read moreconsistent in what you will experience. 1) scent: really have I experienced that thrift store smell whenever I go into a 2nd Ave. thrift store. This one is the same. So they get four stars for that. 2) selection: the store was well stocked, and I found a few things I was looking for and a few things I wasn't but realize I needed 3) size: I called is a superstore, but compared to the store tomorrow it's about half the size. It wasn't as small as some of the Goodwills but I don't know that I would call it a superstore. 4) prices: as 2nd Ave. always does. There are two colors that were 50% off so if you can find those you'll get some great deals. Otherwise the prices were decent. It seems as though many thrift stores have raised their prices, but I wouldn't say the prices were outrageous or unreasonable. 5) location: it was relatively easy to find, and had a sufficient amount of parking. 6) service: I appreciate the self check out that they offer. And the staff was responsive and helpful when I was looking for a couple of items in the store. Overall, this is absolutely worth a stop, and I will likely be back.

Perhaps it was one of those bad days when the hunt for bargain goods had gone awry but for one…read morereason or another, I've noticed quite a few flaws with this gilt event that I did not notice in the previous one. For those who don't know, gilt sells all of their online merchandise that does not sell on their website through sample sales through physical popup locations in the major cities. You have to purchase a ticket ($10 GASP) to enter the event in 3 hr time blocks that start from Friday night until Saturday. While this may sound atrocious, they do provide free drinks (alcoholic and soft) as well as snacks. For this event, I got tickets to the last time block b/c all other time blocks were sold out. For that reason, it's unfair for me to complain about the selection. That being said, there was an astronomical drop in the quantity of goods (almost 1/2 to a 1/3 of what was for sale the previous time). I cannot imagine that this event sold that much more to completely get rid of a section of the floor by the last time block (especially since people are shopping less in this area following the govt shutdown). While I found it to be pleasant surprise that the noise level was toned down (did they actually read some of the reviews???), the area was not bright enough for me to look through the selections and in some areas you would need night vision glasses to look at the prices and tags. Is it worth taking each item on a rack that interests you and walk 15-25 meters through a crowd and see them properly? Perhaps. Besides that issue, I've noticed that some of the items were used and returned. Some of the soles on the mens' shoes were completely worn. I'm surprised that gilt sells these types of items at 60% off. As always, this event will be a hit or a miss. Perhaps I would have forgiven all of their flaws if I found something spectacular.....either way this event is just like outlet shopping: you find a gold in the rough or nada.

Not enough items, not many people...........Where's my bag? Where's my dress? Where's my food?!?!?! lol. There was nothing I wanted to buy sadly... :( I really enjoyed the gilt warehouse sale last time. So, this time it was a huge disappointment. I don't know if I would want to come back again.

They occasionally have some great unique pieces, but that is becoming increasingly rare. It seems to have morphed more into a confusing assortment of newer Ikea-level furniture presented as vintage, gift soaps & candles and random clothing. But what really makes this place special are the people - the staff / owners here seem to actively dislike their customers lol! I lived around the corner for 6 years and used to drop in regularly. They revolve between completely ignoring you while laughing to each other, outright hostility, and aggressive indifference (ask a question - they shrug while walking away lol). To make it all just a little more uncomfortable, it seems like half of what they have on the floor is "unavailable". No signs, no explanation, just when you say you would like to buy it they say it's "unavailable" and walk away lol. I don't know who this place is supposed to appeal to, it seems like they are going for tourists, and maybe young people who just moved here and don't know any better. Hopefully this space will turn over into something that better serves the community.
