Use to really like this store. When they first opened, I brought in 6 long boxes of comics. Got some real good money and trade for them. Lately, they don't take crap! They offer squat! And their not as cool as they use to be. I took six boxes in a few months ago. GOOD Comics. (I've been a collector for at least 50 years) They said I could only bring in 24 comics at a time. This is primarily a used book store, although it carries a wide variety of goods. These include music (CD and vinyl), DVDs, game cartridges, board and card games, a large comics section, a large manga (graphic novel) section, and all kinds of trinkets and knick-knacks such as coffee mugs and T-shirts. They carry books in all areas, including a large children's section. They have a large desk near the entrance for selling your used items. I haven't sold anything here and I don't know how they compare to other stores. Their book stock is a hodge-podge and consists mostly of the opposite of best-sellers. They have a fair number of new-looking books that I assume are remaindered copies. They do have some new books in displays near the entrance. The lighting on the second floor is not good--the overhead lights are not aligned with the bookshelves, so the titles are sometimes in shadow and hard to read. read more

Avoid avoid avoid. Attempted to declutter my gameroom on two different occasions at this place. Upon my first visit, I was told I was too late and they stopped accepting trade ins 1 hour prior to closing. Totally my fault, I could have avoided this negative experience by simply calling beforehand prior to the 50 minute drive. Previous to my next visit, I called in advance to ensure they were taking trade ins. I was told they were and they provided helpful information regarding what they take and how much bulk they allow. Immediately after my call I made the drive out yet again. Upon entering they tried to enter me into the system and realized their "system was down". They shuffled between employees at the counter clicking through programs then disappeared to the back only to resurface and stated "it's a nationwide outage, no one can take trade ins". They then recommended I walk around the store for a while but admitted it could be down for an hour or longer. How dumb would I have to be to not only drive an hour, but to also walk around aimlessly for an hour in hopes that their system would come back on, only to inevitably find out they want to offer me 10 cents per Nintendo Switch game. If you're considering using this location to offload goods, you may want to consider other means such as garage sales, ebay, facebook marketplace or donating to goodwill. Love this place so much. Found it a few years ago as it is close to work. Avoid it at all costs during lunch hour, it's hard to tear yourself away. This location is one of the best ones too, clean, thoughtful, organized, and comfortable. The Littleton one is ok, but warehouse and cold feeling. Make a trip up to this one if you can. read more

So I have gone here for years - I love the idea of used books - buying and selling - but after the rudeness recently encountered- I will donated to a shelter, goodwill or anything else. They apparently are only accepting one crate per car of people per day. Totally okay if it 1.) was posted on the website, 2.) posted it on the door, or 3.) someone would have said something when we rolled out a dolly BUT none of that happened. Instead I limped (yes I am injured) in after my friend unloaded over 10 huge bags and boxes of mostly cookbooks and grabbed a cart. Then my friend and I stood for over 10 minutes with all the books to be told we should pick our best and fill a crate and take the rest back home because it's one crate per household per day. I said well we can at least do two crates because we don't live together ( they check ID so no point in lying). Then I was asked if we drove together and answered yes - then it was per car not household. I could have and would have been okay except for the allowing us to unload, wait and change the rules - such a disappointment. FYI the books went to goodwill and I won't return except to maybe use the credit I still have - and then I will donate those books. read more

I went into look at funkos with my son to add to our collections. It was my first time in the store because my sister was telling me about how great it was. My son had to go to the bathroom so I kindly asked the girls at the front desk if they had a bathroom we could use. After she told me where to go I heard her to her coworker say "of course we have a bathroom what the f***" Then when I got to the bathroom another employee rolled his eyes because I asked if it was okay to take my son in really quick so he didn't have an accident. And then finally when I was going to pay for our items the same girl that made the remark about the bathroom proceeded to check every bill I paid with. If your black or any person of color I would not go to this location unless you want to feel uncomfortable and like a burden the entire time. read more

Great place for nerd and geek gifts, especially media, book, and music lovers. Excellent selection of new and used vinyl, used video games, graphic novels and comics, and especially books of all sorts. I use the buyback here often and am pleased with the service, although sometimes I wish they kicked back a little more and took more. I definitely recommend 2NC to others. It's best to go in with a wanderers eye versus looking for something specific. More often you won't find the particular item you are after, but if you have the time to burn and don't let yourself get too overwhelmed you'll definitely find some things for yourself and for gifts for others. read more

I really used to love this place. They have great deals on movies and books. I was browsing today and witnessed something that made my blood boil. Someone called in asking if a movie was in stock. They we're on speakerphone so I heard the exchange. They said they would check and then proceeded to come up with some lie as to why they were out so they wouldn't actually have to check. When they told the guy on the phone he thanked them and they hung up and laughed about how stupid he was, and how stupid he would be to believe them. Very disappointing. I've heard about this place a few times since moving to the area about a year ago, and as an avid thrift store and secondhand store buff it was only natural I made my way here eventually. That being said, it would be incredibly hard for me to not express how immensely disappointed I am in this business. The selection of items seems to be pretty great! Tons of items and consoles, video games, funko pop figures, etc. The thing that was frustrating about it was that this place is marketed as a "used" retailer... but virtually NONE of the items were priced in a manner reflecting their used nature. It would almost be more apt to call this place a "collectors" location, because everything in this store is priced according to that. GameCube games for $60, full price retail games, full price consoles, etc. Virtually nothing about this place would be any better than a GameStop or even a Target/BestBuy- and I struggle to see what serves as enticement for people to come here for their needs when they can likely find a more conveniently located retail store for the same cost IF NOT LESS. Genuinely just such a bummer, but I hope their used book inventory makes up for the shortcomings of the other areas of the store. read more

I have stopped by this place three times. The main problem with being a retro type store is that the stuff they are selling is a bit overpriced, and the selection of rarer stuff is very limited. I have not sold anything here, so no experience if they pay fair prices for stuff. They have used/vintage books, video games, movies, vinyl, and comics as well as new stuff in each of these categories. The problem is just that the prices a pretty high for used compared to similar retro stores I have been to, and the selection is limited. I've been a patron of this store for years. I've bought movies and comics, and sold dvds. The store credit they give is higher than the cash value, so of course I chose the store credit and use that. Their selection is pretty good, and though they don't always have what I came in for, I often find something else worth buying. Recently, I had pretty horrible customer experience. I came in with receipt showing $7 store credit, though they say the credit is tied to your driver's license account. I went to pay for ~$30 worth of merchandise, and the cashier couldn't find the credit listed under my account. The manager is called over, and despite having the receipt in her hand, still won't process an override to just give me the store credit. I didn't make a stink about it because I shouldn't have to be a jerk in order to get decent bare minimum customer service. I know most businesses are hurting because of Covid, but it was $7, and store credit has no expiration date. It was her attitude that annoyed me more than anything else. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I don't know if I'm interested in going back after that. read more

I love this place. The first time I found it was entirely by accident one night while my husband and I were just walking around. They were about to close, so we weren't able to stay long. Since then we've been back a few times and I absolutely love their prices and the selection they have. Can I just say how awesome it is that they have a whole lot of The Baby-Sitters Club books? This place is wonderful. I can find any book for way less than I would pay at borders or barnes and nobles. Everything is used but in good condition. I don't buy new books or movies anymore. I'm closer to the 2nd & Charles on Parker, but I drove up to this one out of curiosity. I'm more of a book and CD buyer, so my review targets their book and CD sections. Selection is pretty good, though some items can be inexplicably pricey. Their inventory is in pretty good condition, considering they only accept stuff that is relatively clean. I've only sold stuff once, but they did refuse one DVD box set because there was a scratch on one of the discs, so you know that they take interest in stocking good quality stuff. This location is probably too far to return to for me, but I did manage to find a couple of nostalgic childhood books in pristine condition. I do wish that they would separate the used stuff from the new inventory. I also would prefer if the used recent fiction they sold was not priced so high; I found a paperback that came out about two years ago priced at a dollar under the listed MSRP. Yes, the book was in like-new condition, but who's gonna buy a used book for almost MSRP when you can probably get a new copy cheaper elsewhere? read more

Horrific experience. We called yesterday to see if they would be interested taking a older game system for in store credit. They said they would and even gave us an estimate on what they would offer. We went in today and even as the store was slow, we were totally ignored by three staff members. Once we finally found some one to help, they said they would not take it. No big deal if they had just told us that when we called. However, very frustrating that we packed everything up, took it over, and had to beg for some one to send us away. read more

Amazing old school game selection, I love this place! I could spend hours in there just walking around and looking. From the outside you might think that this is some furniture store or something, but on the inside it's a second-hand mecca! They have everything you could ever want that runs on batteries... well, actually they have so much more than that! I traded in some old books and games and got way less than I think it was worth. If I were you I wouldn't try and trade in my games here, I'd check somewhere like GameStop first. The guy behind the register was rude when I went to get the cash for the stuff I traded in. He was suspicious that I didn't have a Colorado ID (I'm from Texas) and said I didn't look like the picture on it. Definitely wouldn't come here to trade anything in again. This is my preferred 2nd & Charles location. Not only is it expanded to a second floor, but the staff are a lot friendlier here too. The location is cut, clean and very fun to browse through. The prices are very reasonable and very secondhand. I would consider looking for a gift here that's witty, humorous, age appropriate and very dandy to explore. This store has lots of items that start from minimum pricing ($2.00-beyond) and i do enjoy the organized aisles. I could find a section that only specializes in that genre, character, age, theme etc., whatever the case is, I do very much enjoy it. The restrooms are located on the second floor, so be aware. The restrooms are tidy and very well maintained. I do appreciate the charitable cause 2nd & Charles offers to its consumers. This is very unique compared to a very pricey Barnes & Nobles, to a very tacky Arc Thrift Store and Goodwill. The outside bins offers free goodies to some discounted movies and cds. this store also offers guitars, records, karaoke machines, how cool is that? read more

But what makes this place awesome is all of the collectible stuff in there ranging from Star Wars to Pokémon to GoT.... everything! Huge store with a good amount of items. They have a large selection of books, movies, and music, but do not expect to get a great deal. A lot of their stuff is used and is definitely below retail, but not as cheap as you would expect for used items. The only drawback for me as a comic book collector is that they do not put out new release comics until Wednesday night or Thursday morning. It is a good place to find variants at cover price, but you have to guess as to when hey will receive their shipments. Also, there back issues are not organized in the least, but that being said, I have found a good amount of under priced comics scattered though the back issues, but you have to be willing to look for a while. read more

Just to be clear, the 'one-star rating' is not for the store itself. It represents the very poor customer service I received via phone, courtesy of an associate named Scott. 2nd & Charles offers bargains galore, is always clean and my go to spot for both buying and selling anything/everything from books, games, accessories, you name it. I also truly appreciate the help I've received with locating particular last minute books I'm in need of ; even having them held at the front desk for me to conveniently pick up and purchase - until now. Scott was happy to report that they did, indeed, have three copies of the book I needed but when I asked if it'd be possible to have one of them held for me his entire aura did a 180. Mind you, I was not looking at him but it translated loudly nonetheless. "Um, (awkward pause), I'm going to have to run upstairs if you want me to do that." he said hesitatingly as if expecting me to say, "Oh never mind, I really won't appreciate that kind of customer service anyway." When I didn't he huffily put me on hold for the entirety of, oh, say three minutes only to come back apologizing lamely that "I'm so sorry, I don't know why but I actually don't have any copies available." ?? Hm, I dare say strange. Maybe a glitch in the system? Not. I chalk it up to him not having wanted to climb the stairs to suss out the copy and, instead, pretended to put me on hold while banking on his sad excuse to save him from delivering decent customer service. And then, upon inquiring about the Aurora store Scott, sounding like he couldn't be bothered any longer, instructed, "You'll have to call over there yourself." rather than trying to redeem his earlier 'glitch' by offering to call himself for me. Yep, that would've been classy - and even if that store didn't have it in stock either it would've been the effort I'd remember instead of this experience. This place is awesome! I went there this weekend to look for vintage copies of "Alice in Wonderland" and several other books. Not only did they have a wide selection, but the prices were AMAZING. They have everything you'd ever want, CDs, DVDs, video games, books, bag, clothing, and knick knacks. And all of them are are GREAT price. The CDs were usually under $5, book under $10, and DVDs from $3-$10. They have a great selection of hard to find and out of print books, because their inventory is second-hand. This business occupies the same that Borders used to have. The building is comfortable, with handicap access, and plenty of light and space. The staff is very helpful, and I get the sense that they actually have read the books I'm looking for. Lots of cool pop culture items including posters and t-shirts. You can also get small electronics and used musical instruments. I'm really glad I stumbled upon this place. I got everything I was looking for, and more! 17 books for $50, you can't beat that with a stick! VERDICT: The best 2nd hand book, without the 2nd hand attitude. No need to content with cranky old men, or too cool hipsters. Get everything you need at less than half price! read more

I have been at this location to buy and sell. They give you a reasonable amount for store credit if you give them items. They won't offer you a lot cash value but trade in yes. You can go here once a week and find different things. I like looking through their albums and comic books. They always have a nice selection and the quality seems good. I've gotten some very old albums and comics in near mint condition. However, 2 times in a row now when I go there on Wednesdays to get the new comic books... they never have them out and ready for the day. read more

My daughter, 14yo, is a huge fan of this new store....i guess not that new but new to us in the past few months. She did a pre order of Mario for the WiiU and Legend of Zelda for 3DS...unfortunately the companies suppliers building was destroyed in last weeks tornadoes so no orders arrived. My daughter was heartbroken. But the store Managers were so nice and said they feel horrible. We did find the WiiU release at another "super store" and will pick it up today, but we will wait for the 3DS game to hopefully arrive next week ( hopefully prior to Thanksgiving). This store is great for all ages who are into gaming as well as other books and toys...Just feel bad for all those people that pre-ordered a game and can't get it today. But again, kudos to the staff and managers who have to deal with the bad news to customers....We will still continue to buy ( support) this store! UPDATE: the store was able to purchase the 2 games we had on pre order and have them tonight so we could pick them up. Talk about awesome customer service. You don't see other businesses going out of their way to satisfy the customer. We were so impressed we bought another game from them! read more
