I loveee The Book Stop. It is FULL of so many different kinds of books. I've been to many used bookstores and some of them have very dull selections or just very old books that no one really wants to read anymore. This one has old books, newer books, a large kids section, reference, cooking, every genre you could want. And it's walking distance from my house. I probably wouldn't sell books there anymore because it's not really worth it, like CENTS for a brand new book and you don't get more for store credit or at least they didn't offer when I was there last. This used book store is jam-packed with a huge selection of books. I took my daughter here to pick out a book of her choice, and she took a long time to make her selection because there were so many options! Pricing is very reasonable, and many of the books look basically new. You could spend a long time browsing here, and there's even a comfy chair that you can sit in. In terms of children's books (for the 4-5 year old range), the organization could have been a little better & many of the books were more vintage-y -- so my daughter wasn't able to find some of the ones she really likes (like Pete the Cat or Mo Willems/Elephant & Piggie, for example). There was a large selection of early readers (step 1, step 2, level 1/2/3 etc.) which is great! read more

Wow!! This is the neighborhood bookstore we wish we all had close to home.. Stopped here while on vacation and could have easily stayed all day. Huge selection packed into a cozy little space, with ALL the charm and friendly customer service that today's big bookstores truly lack. The gentlemen at the counter were helpful and extremely friendly, clearly sharing the same passion for books as their customers. We bought 8 books for less than $40! Are you kidding me?? As far as those folks who choose to complain on Yelp that little shops like the Book Stop don't have the same selection or prices as Amazon, then by all means keep shopping Amazon for your books and leave a sweet store like the Book Stop to the true connoisseurs. I've been driving by this place for some time. Given our heavy use of iPads and iPhones we do not read in the old fashioned way like we used to do. Still we had a need to search out a book to provide to someone in the hospital so we took ourselves over to this place which has great reviews. My gosh what a selection they have and it's well organized and full of used books in decent condition. We were in a rush so we could not stay to browse but we do plan to return to see all that is there. There is something solid and meaningful with actual books. Ebooks provide you with all the content and they are convenient but there is something to curling up with a real book and blocking out all the rest that comes with electronics. So I'm on my way to cancel Comcast, which is a fiesta or three for me, and of course they put their payment center out in the middle of nowhere on 44th Avenue right before I-70 and the foothills. Screw convenience. No sign of wheat, anywhere. I wasn't expecting much. Not even a Seven-Eleven for Milk Duds and a Slurpee. On my way back from a successful service cancellation, I saw the red sign and I stopped. After all, it did say BOOK STOP. So I did. In the middle of the road on 44th Avenue.Cars swerved around, honking, flipping fingers - but the force field of the almighty Book Stop had mesmerized me. Plus, it was Friday. This tiny place houses over 75,000 books. I felt like a nerd in a candy store of sheer knowledge. I found my second grade favorite mystery, The Adventures of Cam Jansen, in this store. For seventy-five cents. Don't ask how or why I remember such things, but I do. Not to mention, all the newest releases including Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time. The owners are an added deee-light. From audio CDs, to classic cassette tapes, to children's books from when you were a child, to the latest autobiography from what's-his-name-conniving-politician, this store is a must-visit for any book lover. This is the BEST used bookstore I have ever found! It's very small and cramped but a *goldmine* of out-of-print used books at very good prices! It's literally a maze to navigate the close-cramped shelves and stacks of hard and softcover books but the selection here is extraordinary and you are likey to find some very rare gems here. I found my wife a hardcover first edition of Big Trouble signed by Dave Barry in excellent condition with dust jacket for only ten bucks! I also found another out-of-print rare hardcover here for only $7.50. The lady/owner was extremely helpful and located some Time Life Mysteries of the Unknown books we were looking for. We had them already but it was good to see that they have them. You could literally spend hours and hours searching in this tiny little bookstore that feels cozy and comforting surounding you with walls and walls of old lost books from ages past. Truly a treasure trove bookstore if there ever was one! We just happened to be driving by and saw it and it was the best little discovery in quite some time! Be sure to Stop by the Book Stop. Updated! Whatever the smell was I remembered from years ago, it's gone now. All I smelled when I went back to visit was old, glorious book smell. You know, the reason that you buy BOOKS instead of apps? Because you can bury your nose inside a book and smell that BOOK SMELL. I went in looking for some new series. If you like used bookstores you'll be drooling like a Dog de Bordeaux when you enter The Book Stop. There are thousands and thousands of books stacked up on little shelves all over the store. Luckily the aisles are pretty well labeled and the books are segregated by category. I came across a few books that I have been looking for, including one that has gone out of print and is hard to find. Most were about $2.50/each. One of the great things about this store is their inventory is on-line, so you can peruse the shelves from their website, or the store manager can look up titles for you. I tried to sell about a dozen books here but that part was not as good. They took half of them and I only collected about $3. I guess used books are a dime a dozen these days. This place is a quick trip of off I-70 and is easy to find. I highly recommend it. read more

I wish I would have found this place sooner. It's the greatest used bookstore I've ever stepped into. At first it seems overwhelming because the store itself isn't that big and the books are floor to ceiling, but it is extraordinarily well organized. The sections are categorized, subcategorized, even alphabetized! The owner, who is super sweet, must be some kind of genius for getting so many books in such a little place without it being a chaotic mess! It's easier to navigate than Barnes and Nobles and has a genuine collection of quality new and old books. AND, even more impressive than the organized variety is that the owner actually knows her inventory. As I browsed, several customers came in looking for a specific book and she knew if she had it and exactly where to find it.... My friend and I were looking for a good used bookstore where we could find some cheap classics as well as look for some more obscure titles and authors. This store was a God send. Very good titles and a lot of varieties at a very nice price, organized enough that you could find things, but also find new ones. We went in looking for one book and walked out with about 6 each!! Visited the shop for the first time on a trip visiting family. Was a little overwhelming at first just because of the sheer quantity of books, and but after about three minutes we were in heaven! The owner is very knowledgeable about what he has in stock and very willing to help my 8 and 10-year-old girls, my 17-year-old son, and myself.
