I am a disabled mom who can't afford a vehicle to pick up 'to-go' food. I have many chronic health issues and there are days I simply can not make a meal. 2DineIn is there for those days. Sure a lot of times for a person living on disability I want to order but can't afford to so we set aside a certain amount each month for when I am simply not able to get out of bed due to my pain and my disabilities. We tried the national chains and they were terrible. None of them were based in Maine, so why would I want to support them in the first place? The fees, don't even think about it. If something was wrong or not delivered they offered me 5% off my next order. That is not acceptable. Neither was the attitude of their drivers. 2DineIn makes it right with a refund for the item or an offer to pick up what you are missing and bring it right to you with no extra fees. They are a local business that realizes they are serving local people and know they need to treat them right. In my experience with them, they absolutely do. I have never had an unpleasant experience with anyone, administration or driver from 2DineIn. I've been a customer for at least 6 years if not longer. You can track your order from the time you place it until it arrives at your door if you choose to do so. 2DineIn offers a wide variety of restaurants with something for almost any appetite. They are always working to add new eateries and frequently send out coupons for free or half-off delivery fees to introduce or reintroduce restaurants. I've been on both sides of working with 2dineIn: as a food provider (café Sip of Europe) and as a customer. I love this company from the bottom of my heart! In case you didn't know, working with 2dineIn leaves the restaurants more money than national companies such as Grubhub, UberEats, etc. Those big companies take every 30$ from 100$ earned, it wasn't great before the pandemic, now it is really unfortunate for restaurants who are trying to stay afloat. If you want to support Local companies, definitely order with 2dineIn! Another thing I loved about working with them was having a human on the phone ;-) you call the number = you get a real person, fellow Mainer who can help you in a fast and efficient way. I have UberEats and GrubHub experience in my past, it was a nightmare to try to get to them after being on hold for some time. Drivers were always very kind, cheerful and positive people, it was my pleasure working with each one of them. The owners and management team set a perfect example by being wonderful themselves. As a customer I always try to make my orders before or after rush hours because i know that resources of kitchens and drivers pool are limited and can cause some delays. It always surprises me how can people be upset about longer hours when they order at prime time...? Also what customers do not know is that the restaurants do not get orders as soon as you post them. 2DineIn management team checks the availability of drivers in the area and sends the request to cook food only after they found a dedicated driver. This is an inner kitchen of a delivery business, you know?) Since all my orders are placed not at a rush time, I normally get food within or less than 40 mins from confirmation of the order. In the end, we've decidedly stopped using 2DineIn. One weekend, we did the math and realized that our $90ish 2DineIn order was only $50ish if we just picked it up ourselves from the restaurant. That's a HUGE difference. Enough that we don't see the value in 2DineIn anymore. I'm going to agree with what others have said too: 2DineIn's customer service was once amazing (one time when my flight was running late, I coordinated with them where to leave my food on my porch; the driver texted a photo back of where it was hidden, and wished me a good flight!). The last few times we had ordered through them however, our food went missing to addresses in different towns. Then we would get phone calls and emails saying the driver had attempted to deliver our food, but we weren't home. The driver then always got a little blamey at us saying our address "looked too similar to another address" in our neighboring city and we "needed to be more clear" (I don't know how to be more clear than spelling out my exact address). That food arrived cold obviously. Maybe they have new drivers now, so maybe things have been improved, but I just don't want to spend 50% more than I have to to find out. That being said... 1. 2DineIn has the delivery market here in Portland. Hard stop. Through 2DineIn you can order your favorite foods from your favorite restaurants (and we're talking Greater Portland's BIGGEST players). Skip the lines and the waits, and enjoy the best of what the city has to offer at home! 2. The online ordering system is impossibly easy and convenient! 3. However, again, 2DineIn is NOT cheap: the prices have been inflated from what you see in the restaurant; the minimum order requirement is $15 for lunch and dinner; the delivery fee is $6 for Portland and SoPo (an additional $1.50 is tacked on if you're outside those two cities); while they'll pick up different food for you from different restaurants, they apply a separate delivery charge for each stop and that can add up; and, don't forget, you have to tip ("appreciated, but not required"). read more

I want to emphasize how great this company is yet again. Tonight I ordered from Willows, a delicious pizza/sandwich shop in South Portland. A medium two topping pizza, a large French fry and a Caesar salad came to $27 after all tips and fees. Barely 30 minutes later and the food arrived, smoking hot. In comparison, last week a large cheese pizza and Caesar from Otto was about the same price after tip. It took 1.5 hours and was cold, and the salad was limp. While it can get pricey solo, 2dinein is the perfect delivery service for couples or friends. Highly recommended. read more

They suck. Took me an hour and a half to get a pizza (from a place 10 minutes away) only to have it arrive stone cold. Never again.

This place becomes more laughably bad each and every time I go back and attempt to try them again. On this particular occasion, it's a snowy day, but nothing historic or major. Our groceries were delivered by InstaCart around 11a.m., during the height of the snowfall. GrubHub, Portland Pie Co., UberEats et al., they're all delivering. And yet, the local MAINE BUSINESS, the one who during the pandemic, nagged and whined for customers to add extra money to their bill to, allegedly "support restaurants" during the pandemic, (even though local restaurants were seeing incredible business via their take-out services).... they are closed as if it's a historic snowstorm. Maine service providers tend to be a bit slow or even lazy compared to their national competitors, at least in my opinion. But 2DineIn is clearly so fat on the bloated prices and fees they've charged their customers over the last 10+ years, that they've completely given up. Yet another argument to prove the "buy local" thing is a load of B.S. - You always, ALWAYS pay more, for less service and usually poorer quality. read more

Awesome food delivery service for a lot of local restaurants. Great for when you're stuck at work or the weather is keeping you from wandering outside. Benkay, Bonobo, Bucks, Nosh, and Green elephant are just a few of the places. The online ordering interface makes it pretty easy. It's a little added expense than just going to the restaurant and picking up the food yourself, but the convenience is totally worth it. read more

I ordered a month ago and delivery happened without issue. I ordered again tonight and was told I was "outside of their zone" (I'm in Westbrook right outside the Portland line). Actually, what i was told was "i see you had delivery before and I'm not sure how that happened." That's all well and good, but a bar had been set. I used to love ordering from this place. This service was great and the choices were amazing. My husband live in an area where our choices for delivery are limited to pizza or pizza, so 2DineIn was wonderful. Then they stopped delivering to our area of Scarborough, and when I tried to contact the company for an explanation, I never got a response. So frustrating! But because, when they did deliver to us the had great customer service, thats why they still get three stars - they really are great. Its just frustrating that we ordered from them frequently (my husband and I are both in professional school with little time to cook and 2DineIn was a god send for us) and then one day we went online and *poof* - they wouldn't take our order and when I tried to call and ask why they wouldn't deliver to us I got a machine an never a call back! read more

I am editing my original review based upon the efforts of 2 Dine In to rectify the original situation. On May 19, one of their delivery drivers drove into my garage causing several thousand dollars worth of damage. The initial response from the driver and 2 Dine In was lackluster, to say the least. However, after the previous review I left, I was contacted by 2 Dine In and from that point their response and efforts to ensure that I was properly compensated by insurance and for my extreme inconvenience was good, and I credit them ensuring their driver followed through on his insurance for a relatively speedy payout from that point forward. I am still not happy that it took me leaving a poor review in the first place to get the action that was necessary, but in the end 2 Dine In did ensure that all matters were handled and they have reached out to me since to confirm that there were no further problems. read more

I do not know what I would do without 2 Dine In. As a busy professional with two teenagers with completely different tastes and no time to go out to dinner, we order from our favorite restaurants (with about 40 to choose from in Portland) at least twice weekly. It's our Friday evening gift to ourselves and our mid-week "dinner in a rush". The food is fabulous and warm or hot upon timely delivery, the website allows you to follow where your food is, the drivers are pleasant and professional, and the prices are very reasonable. If something isn't right with your order or the timing will be delayed, they call you to let you know. My delivery took more than two hours to arrive from an eatery that's ten minutes from my house (not kidding) and when it did, was badly leaking in the bag. As in a soupy daal was open and had soaked my bread and appetizers.
