In Sept 2024, we had 250 Plumber come in to install 3 new toilets, which they purchased on our behalf. Two of the toilets were the exact same toilet make, brand and model number. The one downstairs was working fine, however, we noticed a funny sound coming from the same toilet we had put into the ensuite bathroom upstairs. We called Marcella and told her what was happening, so she sent Wyatt to take a look. He came back 3 times to change out parts in the tank. Nothing worked; this went on for several weeks. Finally, we said we would just like them to replace the whole toilet. We had also told them that the toilet upstairs had a hole in the bowl and we were wondering if that was a manufacturer defect. I sent them photos, but failed to hear back from them for quite some time. Then they sent Dave out to change a rubber ring or something in the tank. Still no success! Again, we told them we would like them to just take that toilet back and replace it with another that was the same model as the one downstairs. (I actually think they may have bought this toilet on sale as the identical toilet they installed downstairs did not have this extra hole in the bowl). They said they had to get the OK from Splashes to change the whole toilet. We waited and waited, it got to be 2 months later when we asked them again what was happening. Then we were told that Splashes had agreed to change the Tank only. We said NO, everything in the tank has already been replaced, we want a new complete toilet. After not hearing back for about 3 weeks we contacted them again and left a message on their answering machine (I think they were now avoiding our calls). Then we got a call from Marcella and she said, good news, Splashes is going to give us their showroom model if we bring the other toilet back. I said to her, So you mean they will replace the entire toilet, and she said YES! So, she booked Dave to come out to take the old one away and put the new one in. When Dave was at our front door a week later, he said he was here to replace the tank on the toilet upstairs. I said Now wait a minute! This has been going on since September and it is now March and you are telling me you only have the tank to replace! I said that's not happening, I have had long conversations, text messages and telephone calls and Marcella said they finally agreed to replace the whole toilet, so come back when you have the whole toilet! He did not seem too happy, but this was what we had waited almost 7 months for with numerous phone calls and text messages going back and forth. There had already been 4 attempts at changing parts in the tank, it seems that isn't the issue. We have nothing against Dave or Wyatt, they were both very kind, excellent people. We tried phoning the office, but it became rather obvious that they were avoiding our phone calls. Then we found out that what the real issue was, is 250Plumber did not want to have to send their guys out to replace the toilet and pay them, they wanted Splashes to pay the labour costs. We told Marcella that this kind of information should never be shared with a customer! Then we sent a long email with a timeline of what had happened in the last 6 1/2 months (including any text messages and phone calls). This was in March, it is now the end of May and we still have a noisy toilet and nothing from 250-Plumber about what they intend to do about it. Today we needed a plumber for a completely different issue...we did not contact 250-plumber! As far as prices go, I'd say they were pretty comparable to other plumbing companies in town. We had used 250-Plumber several times in the past and had been happy with their service, but something has happened that has made them far less attentive to their customers' needs. AVOID! read more
