AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!…read more FYI: The following information was gathered from two other sources that also inspected the plumbing and correctly determined the problem. My elderly mother-in-law's home had waste water starting to back up into the house so 250 Plumber was called in a panic. Brock came to the residence to investigate and apparently spent 6 hours there (according to the bill), scoped the drain but reportedly went the wrong direction (uphill, when water generally flows downhill). In addition, I believe this also involved installing a new cleanout although one already existed. The scope reportedly went uphill after meeting the tee to the main drain, rather than downhill, and ran into the termination box at the upper end of the drain pipe. I mentioned the situation to the plumber but the plumber stands by his work, despite the errors confirmed by the other plumber and property owner and refuses to negotiate the amount of the bill. Like I said: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I had called this company at least five times to fix Toilet valves, Taps and tub valves. Yes, they…read morecame out and fast fixed the problem. They gave me bills of two to $300 each time. Each time it was a different plumber, older guys that looked like they were experienced and honest. Now I wonder about that. I had to call him twice for one toilet to come out the second time and twice for a shower to come out a second time to fix the leak They just fixed weeks earlier. I figured it was the luck of the draw all my stuff was leaking until I found out why. The valves were leaking because the pressure reducing valve leading into the house was blown and the was 120 psi pressure instead of the normal 50 to 65 psi pressure. Not one guy from Norm's checked the pressure of the water coming into the house, would've found out the pressure reducing valve was blown, causing all these leaks. Apparently, these valves should be tested every 3 to 5 years and replaced if they're leaking. I did not know this because I come from a part of the country that do not use pressure reducing valves. I Called ServiceXCEL once and they spotted the problem right off the bat and brought it to my attention

We did some research and got 3 quotes from local companies that all have very good reputations. We decided to go with Servicexcel even though their quote was about $800 more than the others. The main reason we went with Servicexel is that they quoted on higher quality equipment and their system designer took the time to explain why, in plain simple language. Plus the equipment they quoted on have a better and longer warranty. After they provided the quote, they were very quick to answer all our questions. The ladies that answer the phones were very knowledgeable and prompt to help however they could. They also took the extra step to arrange for the rebates that we qualified for. Once they started to do the install, the technicians both were very knowledgeable and able to explain what they were doing and were very efficient. It was not the easiest install (due to the cramped and awkward furnace room and crawlspace), but these two technicians took it all and made it look much easier than I thought it would be. During the install they were very good at keeping the area clean and went through the whole area afterwards to vacuum up and make sure everything was back to normal. I would highly recommend Servicexcel and their dedicated employees to anyone that needs any type of HVAC service or replacement.

We called Roto Rooter Parksville at 8 AM on April 25, to clean an exterior drain root problem…read more They scheduled the service fo 2 to 4 hours from tme of our call. The dispatcher called shortly before 10AM to confirm we we home and said the technician would arrive shortly. The technician arrived promptly, and proceeded to extract 20 feet of root from the drain, then did a high pressure flush to clean the remaining dirt. He accomplished the whole job in an hour and a half. He was polite, efficient, competent, and very skilled. The fee was very reasonable, compared with the alternative of digging up our lawn replacing the pipe. We also received a senior's discount! Thank you Roto Rooter Parksville. They advised that they could send a plumber on Monday morning and so began the planning process for a few waterless days - no tea, no showers, no dishwashing, no laundry... A few minutes later Roto-Rooter called about a cancellation. Did I want a plumber now, Ok he is on his way. He arrived shortly thereafter, evaluated the situation, arranged deliver of a shiny new hot water tank, completed the installation, removed the old tank and departed at about 4:00 pm. He brings years of German trained experience which is superior to what the average Canadian trained plumber brings to a job. Plus his work ethic and attitude towards work is way better than what I have experienced with other plumbers that I have hired (who think showing up warrants a minimum charge of $120.... before they walk in the door!).
