The cocktails were great, staff were nice and the place wasn't too busy. There's a bit of outside seating just on the street. I thought this place was quite trendy, nice and clean interior and felt comfortable here. The music was to my taste, they had some good tunes and it wasn't too loud either. I'll definitely be coming back, this might become my new usual stomping ground!

Ok well I didn't but I could have, you bet you behind I could have... ish! I went for the house cheese burger which is made with prime Angus beef, cooked perfectly and served on a slate with a small side salad bowl and the most amazing wedges. They were huge, like half a potatoe huge (see photo.) The upstairs are of 1920 is home to number of pool tables and downstairs is the second bar and the more cozy drinking are. It had a rather good vibe and I think I'll be going back to sink a jug or five.

They have a bar downstairs as well, and basically anything you wish for - some nice couches where we sat, pool, ping-pong, foosball, arcade games and more! Definitely an entertaining fun place :D Ambiance was really fun as well - pretty popular place with everyone out to have fun :)

The venue is cute and clean, and they were pretty good about making sure everyone adheres to the booking times. The hour we booked flew by - with six people on our team, we only managed to squeeze in one game. But that's a pro and a con: it's a busy venue, so we were always checking the clock to see how much time we had left. It was actually a bit of a killjoy. It's a nice experience, but I felt that everything -- including the food and the cocktails -- were overpriced. I know that's the trade-off you make for having a central location, but I would have preferred to have a more old-school bowling alley experience, even at the cost of having to travel farther out... you know, the kind where you goof around with a few close friends while putting away onion rings and beer into the wee hours of the night while "Roxanne" plays for the fifth time over the speakers. I don't need my bowling to be glamorous, but I suppose that's a personal preference.

Can you tell I don't get out much? At least for drinks. Anyway. We came here with some friends and took advantage of their 2 for 1 offer (meaning you get two drinks for 10 pounds). It impressed me that they served really good drinks for such a good price. I personally loved The Last Word (super strong but great flavour) and the Elderflower Margarita (YUM!). They both packed a punch but weren't so overpowered with liquor that they didn't taste nice. The bar staff was fun as well. The one that wasn't popular was the honey one. I can't remember the name but none of us liked it. It's a cool bar!

Bright and Victorian in looks (though current location was built in 1936 and survived the Blitz), be warned that like pretty much all London pubs in summer there is no A/C. Nevertheless, they offer 4-6 Cask Ales at any given time, and a decent, tasty food menu with dressed-up versions of traditional pub fare, made from locally-sourced ingredients, but perhaps not quite the true London gastropub experience one might get down the road at The Lady Ottoline, or what have you. Look/atmosphere: Caters for american, european pool and snooker also has a couple of poker tables to hire. You need to buzz in at the slightly dodgy looking entrance but don't be afraid the interior looks nicer and more bar like! Is a standard old school snooker venue, quite dark dim lighting too. Has about 7 of each table available. Cues and tables are decent for non professionals and has a lot of regulars there too. Service: Can be very busy at peak times queueing for tables can be up to 10-15min but has small seating area. Drinks are cleared away regularly in the gaming areas too. Bar staff are nice. Well, isn't this a sexy little thing…read more I've been eagerly awaiting a time to tipple at Portside Parlour...having noticed them rehabbing the space for several weeks before opening, I just needed the stars to align so I could get in there. Luckily for me, our sitter showed up early last night (Friday), we skedaddled out to have a birthday drink before dinner at Merchant's Tavern and we rocked up to 3 bar stools with our name on them and ample time to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail. It's dark, with rich textures, friendly barmen and just fancy enough cocktails. However, the almost required air of snootiness was nowhere to be found. PRAISE be! I opted for the Thymol Spritz (excellent decision) on the semi-warm late summer evening...my pals got the PP version of a Manhattan and a dry martini. One had squid ink it -- don't say I don't show people a good time, just got a guy from Texas to drink squid ink! They are operating with a restricted license (I'm not entirely sure what this means) but it meant to us that we needed to order some snacks/food. The croquettes were quite delicious though next time I'd skip the olives in favor of another of their small plates. After doing a bit of research I realize they've relocated from a pop-up space on Columbia Market. Score one for Shoreditch, this spot is sweet. Great for a date. Comfortable booths, great bar, tucked away on Rivington Street so you'll be shielded from the elements of Old Street menagerie. Total bill for 3 inventive cocktails, olives and croquettes - £37.

Dark wood, dim lighting and such lend an air of romanticism which we appreciated. They explained the cocktails well as well as the menu and we decided to get some bites and drinks. I got the Bello something or other and it was DELICIOUS. Tequila tamped down with fruity notes, it was strong. I next got what the gin cocktail and again, a wonderful balance. My husband enjoyed the smoky, peaty bourbon cocktail he had. Oh and the food, oh the food!!! For a place with small plates, it does it out of the park! The pumpkin salad with goat cheese, crispy black cabbage and pine nuts blew me away. The arrangement is also quite nice. Same goes for the other veggie dish I wish I could recall- I closed my eyes for the sheer bliss. Even the croquettes were stunning- rich with the taste enveloping your whole mouth. The staff was pleasant and joking the whole time, sharing tips on where to go in the UK for weekend trips. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

There's always a good vibe, good decent international and cosmopolitan crowd which is so very modern London. There's a DJ on Sunday evenings I think in the summer. Not disappointing at all. Service impeccable as always. Strongly recommend for an evening chill to "people-watch" the cool Londoners walk past and dazzle you or a quick bite where you'll get decent service which will not cost you an arm and two hooves.
