A really great time at our recent visit to Vero Beach, this was a highlight. Located downtown, this place is beautiful inside and everyone is super friendly. Has the feel of a 1930s speakeasy. **INITIAL REVIEW** 21st Amendement Distillery is one of two distilleries operating in Vero Beach, and the "younger" of the two, too. Located within the heart of Historic Downtown Vero Beach, it is a fine place to visit if you want to enjoy a cocktail on the rocks. My good friend Patrick and I hit this place up, and I will say, it is defintely a distillery I would love to come back to. Maybe enjoy a nice cigar with my scotch bourbon. Though an address is provided, 21st Amendment Distillery (which I will shorthand to 21st for the remainder of this review) is located on a "minor road" that seems to run one end at the Indian River Chamber of Commerce all the way to American Icon Brewery. The parking situation includes street parking along 13th Avenue. Take note only the west side of the street has angled pull-in parking, while the east side of the street are parallel parking spots. There are some dedicated parking lots and even a parking garage but they are a couple of blocks away. Decor-wise, the outdoor seating arangement fits with the modern style Downtown Vero Beach is aiming for, but inside is an amazing mix of today's modern aesthetic without being overly modern and throwback to the 1920s and 1930s. Why? Because between 1920 to 1933, the United States had prohibition. It wasn't until 1933 the 21st Amendment repelled prohibition thus legalizing alcohol. And now you know why 21st is known as it is. Back to decor, 21st uses a lot of mahogany and wood (or at least it looks like it) furniture along with leather seating. There is a small outcrop of a stage for performers to entertain guests who come in and enjoy a glass of spirits. The bar looks like something out of a old Chicago mystery flick, and there is an area of lounge chairs reminiscent of a smoking room. Remember I said I would smoke a cigar here with my drink? Apparently, 21st has a fine selection of cigars. I did not see any of the patrons smoking any there, but I am sure if they provide it, it would be an option. As for my drink, I was suggested by our beautiful waitress, Brittany, to get the Night Shift as an hommage to the fact I've been working night shift for way too long and need to go back on days. It is an agave spirit with bourbon cream and vanilla. Needless to say, it was delicious... and STRONG! Got Patrick a latte in which they decored the foam in the classic leaf often seen as coffee art. We also split their version of a charcuterie board. Now pricewise, the food and spirits were a little high, but I consider that more of a testament on the standing 21st has over the other alcoholic places within the area or even the city. Side notes: the men's restroom was clean and stocked, but it is a single-server. Take that into account if 21st happens to be full to the gills with patrons. Also, 21st is one of the businesses featured in the Treasure Coast Wine, Ale, and Spirits Trail. If you want to partake on an adventure seeking out the Treasure Coast's best breweries, distilleries, and other alcohol-related locations, check this trail out. Ultimately, 21st was an excellent place to enjoy a mixed drink with or without a cigar, by yourself or with friends, while listening to local acts perfect their craft. And to be fair, this is a local distillery and not an extension or branch, ergo, 21st gets my highest rating for an initial review, four out of five stars. If 21st remains consistent with their service, their drinks, their food, and the atmosphere they provide, I will then grant them their fifth star for consistency. read more

Great to come back for a little celebratory drink. They didn't have the What's Up Doc cocktail on their menu anymore so I ordered a regular mule, which I liked. My husband had a cocktail flight, he loved it but the cocktails were quite strong. After a fantastic dinner, our friends took us to the distillery. This place was so cute and cozy, we loved the vibe. The servers were all so nice, helpful with explaining the menu, and their uniforms were fun and fit the theme as well. They have food, but we didn't get to try any this time. My husband got the coconut old fashioned which was very tasty and not too sweet or coconutty. I couldn't decide on what to get, so I did a flight of their cocktails on tap. I loved it! Such a fun way to try a few things. I got the Pack of Menthols (tasty and smokey), Giggle Juice (tasted like fruit juice, so good, would definitely sneak up on you), Rum Punch (loved the color, almost a lavender color) and Vinny's Bramble (probably my favorite of the 4). We can definitely see why this place is becoming so popular and will definitely be coming back next time we're in town! read more

A perfect chill spot full of unique crafted drinks and snacks.The alcohol choices are based only on the distilled blends on property . We had a cosmo, lemon drop martini, walnut old fashioned and a "pack of menthols" drink that were all fantastic and we ordered the chicken parm and the meatball sliders, empanadas and a meatball pizza and the food was very good .There is indoor and outdoor seating and the cleanest and uniquely decorated bathroom i have ever been in ! My father and I came to this place after reading about it in a whisky magazine. We wanted to do the tour of the distillery, but the establishment wasn't doing any due to renovations. Sad but it wasn't over, we decided to stay and have some drinks. To start off we arrived in the afternoon where it wasn't crowded and the music wasn't too loud. The music in the background was what you expect, oldies but this was Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and many greats playing. Which absolutely fit the place. The place was very clean and the staff were wonderful. For our flight we had samples of the 21 AD Rye, 21 Salute Bourbon, the 21 AD Commemorative Series Bourbon, and the Bourbon Cream. All four were great choices. Varied from smooth to strong to even creamy! As for the Old Fashioned, those were smooth as they were sweet, went down well. Since the tours weren't available we had one of the staff take down our information in the hopes that we can do the tour in the future, but none the less I will say that I will be coming back to try out their other drinks and to enjoy the atmosphere read more

Cool place! The atmosphere is very masculine yet chic. The bartenders were very well dressed and professional. We have a bartender named David. He was very nice and attentive. The forefather old fashioned was tasty! You must try the original old fashion as well super strong. They have a wall of flags to remember our veterans. While I did not eat, I did have a few drinks and a cigar. This is a high end but no to high end place. Meaning you can wear a three piece suit or a tshirt and fit in. The drinks are amazing. They pay attention to the littlest details and make everything just right. Dave was my server and he along with the entire staff was as very knowledgeable and friendly. In Vero for work and saw this place. 2 colleagues and I decided to give it a shot, as we're all whiskey drinkers. When we arrived, we were a little nervous as it looks quite upscale, and we had come straight from a long day at work and hadn't changed clothes. Not to worry, we were seated quickly and our server took great care of us. The food menu can be described as "heavy apps", and we all 3 ended up with the empanadas for dinner. 3 good sized empanadas and a spicy dipping sauce that was all magnificent. We all also opted for Old Fashioneds to drink, and they were really good. All the spirits are made in-house and available for purchase as a take-away bottle as well as on premises. I tried the 4 spirit flight with 3 house bourbons and a rye, and will probably go back and shell out the $60 for a bottle of their bourbon. Didn't adore the first drink I chose -- my fault, a bit too weak, bad choice, but switched to a BEE's Knee's and that was fantastic and pleasantly effective. A friend and I went to 21st AD for cocktails and happy hour bites yesterday. It was our first visit. Parking in front of the establishment was available at 5:30 when we arrived. The outside seating was inviting and cooled by a breeze, but we wanted to enjoy the atmosphere inside that we'd been reading about. The interior is quite eye catching. We were immediately charmed by the ambience of a different era. We found seating at a comfortable couch within a nice conversation area. Brittany was our server. She was friendly, helpful and professional. Following some guidance on the cocktail menu, my friend ordered a rye old fashioned (her favorite) and I ordered their Term Limits' vodka martini. All their spirits are distilled onsite. Our drinks arrived quickly and were delicious! Brittany answered our questions in the food menu. We ordered the beef empanadas and the meatballs. While we waited for our appetizers we visited with fellow patrons. Everyone we met were enjoying themselves immensely. Our food arrived in a timely manner. The empanadas were full of flavor and complemented their slightly spicy sauce nicely. However, the meatballs were the star! Huge meatballs smothered in pomodoro and topped with herbed ricotta. Frankly, the best meatballs I have ever had. Kudos to the chef! All in all, it was a fun evening. I look forward to returning. The 21st Amendment is a wonderful addition to Vero. read more

I absolutely love how the staff dress in black & white; raising the bar quite a bit. The bologna sliders are to die for and the Burratta Salad is amazing.
