Their minimum was $10 for laundry so my total came out to be $11.90 and the jacket dry cleaning was $25. Originally, she asked if I could pick up the following Monday, however, I told her I was leaving on Saturday so she was really understanding and allowed me to pick up my laundry that same day and my drycleaning at the end of the following day (~5:30PM both times). They accept cash and card and everything was ready when I arrived. No stains or color issues; everything was folded nicely and bagged up. Really happy with my experience here. Worst possible experience. The owner "lost" my dry cleaning: 3 items of clothing. I kept having to come back every couple of days for a month, asking what was going on. Finally, she told me that it was "lost" and offered me $20 for everything. I told her that was unacceptable and she began to insult me. K D Laundromat is the only place I could find that lets you do your own laundry. They charge $1.50 for a washer and $1.50 for 36 minutes on the dryer. For a week's worth of laundry, I spent $4.50 instead of $14. Soap is 75 cents extra, or you can bring your own. K D Laundromat isn't anything fancy (a tiny space without much room to move), but the people were nice. I already separated the clothes and gave them 2 separate bags. they came back in one bag and clearly were washed as one load. 2. I gave them a shirt and said please don't dry this shirt. of course, they dried it. 3. I gave them 3 oxford shirts that were separate from the laundry bags. I dropped about 25 lb of clothes off yesterday afternoon for wash/fold and they were ready for pickup by this morning. Could've had it done same-day, but I wasn't in a rush. There I knew this place was a keeper - all clean, great-smelling, folded, and most importantly SORTED. The previous place where I took my laundry (Skirts and Suits) basically threw all of my underwear and socks at the bottom of the bag, and piled a bunch of unsorted clothing on top. 217 Laundry (formerly K&D Laundry) in contrast has surpassed all of my expectations. Pros: - Least expensive wash/fold in the area ($0.75/lb) - Clothes come back sorted, and underwear/socks folded Cons: - No delivery service (could explain the lower rate they charge) Neutral: - Some of my "no-iron" shirts came back wrinkled. It was my first time using this laundromat because my usual place was closed due to COVID-19. The people seemed relatively nice, the price was fair, and I was happy with my experience until I got home and noticed stains on 4 of my nice shirts and a pair of my nice shorts. Upset because $200+ of clothes were ruined, I went back to ask the owner if she could try and get the stains out as well as refund the cost I paid for my laundry. The owner proceeded to tell me that she is not responsible for the clothes and won't try and get the stains out because she didn't inspect them before washing them. Eventually she admitted it could have been their fault, but she did not know for sure and won't do anything else to make it right. It is disappointing how rude this business owner is to customers and won't take responsibility when mistakes are made. I warn anyone who is trying this place for a first time. I've been using this laundromat for 6 months and I love it! .75 cents per pound and you simply drop off your clothes, get a slip, and return the next day for a bag of washed, sorted, and folded laundry. I bring my laundry basket every other week or so, and it's usually between $12-$15. You cannot beat that value for all the time it saves you! The employees are so sweet as well. DO NOT GO HERE! This place's name has changed to 217 (for anyone who is looking on google right now.) I chose this Laundromat to clean my delicate bedspread. I saw that this location had rave reviews, so I decided to give it a try. When I first arrived, the owner (who's name escapes me) was very lovely and very honest. She told me what needed to be cleaned and what/how I could clean other items in order to save money. I really appreciated her honesty and her kindness. So why am I so unpleased? I went in last thursday. The owner ASSURED me that the comforter would be ready by monday. With that being said, I stayed at my parents' in long island for the weekend. I came back to the city ready to relax and sleep under my clean blanket. I found it strange that I hadn't heard from the owner (who promised to call me when the comforter would have been ready.) She told me that I'd have to wait until tuesday afternoon. I spent my first night at home with no covers. The next day, I called in the afternoon to check on the comforter. THIS is where I started getting REALLY pissed off. The owner was nowhere to be found. Instead, her employee, a moron with a poor command of the English language and how to conduct business answered. She was COMPLETELY incompetent and dumber than a box of rocks. It's not even so much about how poorly she speaks English, it's the fact that she has NO idea how to do her job and gives terrible customer service! You may be thinking "how can you say that? Long Version: A great wash + fold place - best prices in the neighborhood by far, quick turnaround and good quality. The owner is extremely nice. During Hurricane Sandy (the block had no power) she was actually the only business still open - taking laundry uptown to a location with power in her car, and then back downtown for customers to pick up, for the same price. This was quite helpful for us having no power for the week. She is also open late (9pm) every night during the week, and open both Sat + Sun, very helpful if you're working long hours. She does dry cleaning as well - also the best price in the area, and fine quality. I was very comfortable taking suits / etc there. Horrible! Worst cleaners ever! You get what you pay for. The clothes smell worst that when I sent them. My cleaners is always closed by the time I get home so decided to go here, close to work. Big mistake. First time clothes had a musty smell. Worst than prior to "cleaning". Second time same thing and the clothes had a dingy look. Looked dirtier. So I thought maybe it's done deliberately to keep me from using their business. I finally confronted the owner and before I could finish my statement she started yelling at me. "You don't like...take you clothes somewhere else!". Once she got quiet I tried to explain why I was dissatisfied and she wouldn't let me finish, yelling over me. This is a great place. First, the woman running the place is friendly and affable. She will wave to me as I walk down 26th Street - no laundry, just walking by. Now, the place itself is quite small, almost claustrophobic. However the prices are so ultra reasonable here to have your laundry done, it would be foolish and a waste of time to do your own laundry. No need to provide detergent and softeners (as in some neighborhood laundry places) and the results are great. They also do excellent dry cleaning, one day service. I love this place. It has been renamed 217 Laundromat. KD is reasonably priced. They do a great job, sort and fold beautifully and returned your laundry in a tightly sealed clear plastic bag. The layering in the bag looks like art work. I mainly give them my sheets, towels, blankets, socks etc. I always pick up the same day and within a few hours of drop off. The ladies who work there are very friendly and polite. Message for Samantha who gave it 1 star .... why on earth would you give your delicate bedspread to a Chinese Laundromat?
