Hidden away in the basement of one of the recently redeveloped buildings downtown, this is basically a fairly classy martini bar with a small but rather good menu. Lots of martinis and other mixed drinks plus a pretty good wine and beer selection which is probably the main draw of the place. The menu is limited [a salmon, a steak, a chicken, a pork, a pasta] but the items are quite tasty and come in reasonable portions. Part of the appeal of the place is the atmosphere, a bit dark and with music later in the evening [even if jazz might have been better suited to the location than someone who sounded like they were covering the Cranberries]. Prices are a bit expensive by what I am used to in Fort Smith [$15-20 entrees, $8-10 martinis], but I really enjoyed eating/drinking there and would go back. Food was generally very good, but it took an hour to get a filet. It was definitely RMR, and was delicious; but why did it take an hour when my dinner mate had a salad?? The salad with blue cheese was very good and the mushroom soup en croute was tasty; although they should forego the bottom crust which was gooey and absorbed much of the soup. Nothing less than top notch! This steakhouse is charming, has a great ambiance, good serving staff and rivals any high end eatery in major cities across the U.S. Plan for about $50 per person if you want an entree and an alcoholic drink but it's worth every penny. Went for dinner with our best friends for Valentines Day. Had a late reservation (9:00) for Fort Smith. I can't say the service was exceptional but it was a busy night. I'm giving 4 stars for the delicious crab and crawfish bisque and the Sea Bass alone. On any other night I might complain about some things but, if you can enjoy an evening out on one of the busiest days of the year (Valentine's Day) and be served such delicious food without having to continually need your waiter, I felt , was because the food was great. The beans are fantastic, little disapointed on the small amount of potatoes served. Only draw-back of this place is very limited menu. This has to be the best place to eat in Fort Smith. I'm not sure where the chef learned to do what he does, but the food is absolutely amazing! The creativity of the dinner menu is outstanding, and the drink menu is awesome as well. The place is so nice that I'm actually having my wedding reception there. The owner was kind enough to let us rent the whole place on a Saturday, and the chef is working with us to make a custom menu for our guests. My daughter and I ate here tonight while visiting from Houston and it was excellent! We split the crab cakes for an appetizer and the sea bass (tonight's special) for an entree...both were absolutely delicious. My daughter had the hot and dirty martini and enjoyed it. Wow! This was an unexpected gem of culinary expertise in downtown Fort Smith, AR. I was not expecting the kind of nuance and flavor complexity found in the off menu special Duck Confit with gnocchi, portobello mushrooms and brussel sprouts. Apparently they are changing the menu tomorrow. I finished with the vanilla creme brulee - bruleed at the table. Coffee was the best I've had so far in FSM. This was my third time at 21 West End. I guess third times a charm because it was seriously the best meal I have had mayby ever. We arrived @ 8 for a 830 reservation not expecting to be seated. We only waited about five minutes and they had fixed us a table. We shared small plate apps of the duck, chicken and gnocci to start. WOW, is all I can say. Then for entrées we had Duck with perfectly crispy skin with blue cheese asparagus and mushroom cigar My husband had the filet. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned great . One of the best meals I've had, maby the best. Price was well worth it. Service was great. Waiter was awesome. Super knowledgeable about wine, beer, and menu! Hostess was super helpful. Other wait staff and manager stopped by to check on us as well. Great experience. My husband dropped his napkin and they replaced it before he even knew it was on the floor! Two stars only because the drinks were fantastic and so was the appetizer. We were so excited to have our anniversary dinner here as the reviews are so amazing both online and from friends. Boy were we disappointed. I will say that I think our bad experience completely falls on our server (I unfortunately didn't catch his name). Our experience started out really great. The bar made us some outstanding drinks and our appetizer came out quickly and was delicious. We had the seared tuna. The server came back to clear that plate and let us know that our food would be up shortly. My husband had the drink menu open and as he starts to ask for another drink the waiter walked away. We didn't see him again for 25-30 minutes when our food was coming out. Ok, so that's slightly annoying but let's enjoy our meal. Not quite, as both of our food was barely warm. I ordered the special of the filet with stuffed sea scallops and my husband had the duck. The food tasted like it would have been great if it hadn't been left under a warmer for so long, as I assume it was. Granted, we should have sent the food back but we aren't the type to do that. We decided that we just wouldn't order any more drinks or dessert. I also don't understand why on the phone you ask if the reservation is for a special occasion, yet the server or host doesn't say "Happy Anniversary" or "thank you for dining with us on your anniversary". You might as well not ask those questions when making a reservation. All in all, it was a disappointing experience, and we are pretty sure that our waiter knew it and felt bad about it. I loved everything about this place except for the fact that they didn't give us the menu right away, but the waiter later explained that they get drinks situated before sending the menu, which caused a little confusion for me. What a pleasant dining experience! Cool, intimate, basement location tucked away in historic Fort Smith's west end district, down near the Arkansas River. I took the family to the 21 West End to celebrate my daughter's birthday and we all had good food and excellent service. It was a quiet Wednesday night, so conversation was easy to have and the music playing gently in the background helped to isolate us from other diners. I had the Angus Filet Oscar and the chef got it spot-on medium rare. No steak knife was provided, but I didn't need it on this tender cut of beef. It cut just fine with a butter knife. The crab Bearnaise sauce was a nice touch, but the vegetables could have used a little help. The potatoes were lost in the sauce and there were only 5 steamed asparagus spears and they left me wanting more. Overall though, the experience was the best I've had in the Fort! read more

Wow, this place is amazing. It is the only 4 star dining in Fort Smith. They have fantastic service, a huge drink menu, and unbelievable food. They have an educated chef that is there every day (most places have a chef and about 4 other cooks that do the cooking). The pork is out of the world! My personal favorite is the Filet Oscar. It is a beautiful filet with snow crab meat, asparagus and a cream sauce on top. It melts in your mouth. I agree with the other reviewers that the interior is small, but personally, I feel like it adds a romantic atmosphere. If you have not been, I would recommend you call in a reservation today! As far as the entrance...I always park around back and go in that door. Much easier to navigate and you dont have to deal with the one way streets (pull onto second from garrison, take your first left, then first right into the alley way.
