My stay at 21 East Battery Bed & Breakfast was absolute perfection from start to finish. The property itself is stunning -- a true piece of Charleston history. I stayed in the carriage house, which is gorgeous, spacious, and full of charm. Walking through the beautiful wrought iron gates leading up to it felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way.
Inside, everything was spotless and thoughtfully designed. I loved relaxing on the 2nd floor, the perfect spot to curl up with one of the many books from their charming in-house collection.
What really made the stay unforgettable, though, was Julie, the innkeeper. She could not have been more welcoming, kind, or accommodating. Every morning she drops off a delicious homemade breakfast, and she goes out of her way to make every guest feel special. Julie is truly one of the best hosts I've ever met -- it's easy to see how much love and care she puts into everything she does.
The property itself has so much historic charm -- you can feel the history in every detail, yet it's so comfortable and relaxing. Honestly, I'd recommend staying here over any hotel in Charleston, if you want a truly relaxing experience. You just can't beat the atmosphere, the location (Walking distance to rainbow row, waterfront park, elegant Broad Street shopping & dining), and the genuine hospitality.
