Purchased my daughter's Jr. prom dress at this store. Big selection, not over crowded but all the same designers as the other more popular local locations. Happy with experience . The owners are not warm and fuzzy but I felt confidence in a seasoned owner instead of teenagers selling dresses. Price was comparable to all online and local dress stores. I have been shopping for a dress for my daughter's upcoming wedding in June 2022. I have been to several stores and everything i have seen is either loaded with beading which makes the dress very heavy! Not only did 2 BE SEEN have an excellent selection the ladies were very helpful in helping me choose something that was elegant and was a great fit for my body type. Also, shopping for dresses, the selections are sized in 0,2,4 and 6. Most women wear a 12, 14, 16. 2 BE SEEN had a selection that was truly sized for a woman's body! I brought my daughter with the local business coupon book to the store named "2BSeen". This was my first time visiting the store, even just 5 minutes away from my home, since I saw a $50 off coupon code on the coupon book. And my daughter was looking for a Prom dress for the June Prom party. Even though my daughter already did a lot of homework online to buy her favorite prom dress. She had the choice she wanted in her mind. But I suggested that she should go to a local store to try it on. We tried 6 dresses, I took four pics when my daughter tried on that day, the other two were totally not suitable so I wasn't even willing to take the pics . What a joke the merchant said we tried many many dresses, the whole try-on time was less than 1 hour. Under all our suggestions, my daughter chose the white dress. The dress was $400, and I brought the $50 coupon code from the coupon book, it wasn't her the merchant proactively gave us the $50 discount. The total was $350+$30(tax), I was required to pay the $200 deposit, I will pay the remainder $180 when we pick up the dress. Just as the traditional routine, the girls shared their dress picture in the facebook group, my daughter got all the comments that the dress looked like a wedding dress instead of a prom dress. So my daughter said she still wanted the one she picked online which was absolutely her choice without anyone's opinion. So we went back to the store, and asked the owner if we still can change our mind to switch to one my daughter likes. She said yes, but obviously she wasn't happy. She showed an attitude on her face which we can feel. Since we didn't see the price tag on the dress, I asked how much the dress is, even though we know the price online is $265. She said the price is the same as the white one which we chose for the first time. I told her the price online was $265. Then she said, "okay, I adjusted the price for you", so she changed the selling price to $300, since I already paid the $200 deposit, I need to pay the $100 when we pick up the dress. By switching the dress, she didn't honor the $50 coupon. And I can feel she started doing disgusting things, she stamped "final sale" on the receipt but didn't explain anything to us. She didn't do that the first time but the second time! I can feel she was happy at first, since my daughter took her suggestion also, chose the white and expensive dress. When we came back and asked to switch the dress she wasn't happy and was afraid of something. Why final sale!? Doing business all by her mood? She can say it is final sale then final sale, it is not final sale then not final sale? We were asked to come back in May to pick up the dress with dress shoes, she will base on the height with the shoe to do the alternation of the dress, if she finished the alternation, I have no argument of the final sale, I am a very reasonable person! I didn't argue with her, since I wanted to give my daughter a good memory, and dress was my daughter's choice, I definitely will pay for her. But the experience with this merchant was horrible. She wasn't an honest person! She can say how much is how much of the dress! And since the prom party would be on someday in June, we were told by the merchant to come to pick up and tryon the dress someday in May, she will measure and do the alternation ,just give her a call before visiting. It wasn't she described that she contacted us to pick up the dress, and never heard back from us,I never got contacted from her, no voice message at all! She lied! read more

Oh my god. Words cannot explain how terrible this place is. The three women are so overbreaing and demand to pick out dresses for you, aka all dresses that are over 600 dollars also they don't speak English to each other and just talk and basically talk shit about their costumes.. Very unprofessional. I went to get my dress in April and I was waiting for a phone call to pick it up so I waited 3 weeks I go in and they didn't even cut it and hem it!!! So had to wait another 2 weeks to get my dress! Go in after two weeks and still they messed up on the hem and missed half my dress! I wouldn't even give this place one star! I went there for the first time today to get my prom dress. At first when I was looking around I didn't think I would find anything but one of the ladies that worked there helped me find the types of dresses I would like. I tried on 4 dresses and the women who worked there we're very helpful by helping me zipper my dress helping me decide on a dress and giving me a good discount for buying it that day. They also do alterations which you have you set up an appointment for. They helped me find shoes and jewelry to go with my dress and since my dress was very simple they helped me choose something glitzy to put on it to tie it all together. I have to go back in May for my alterations because my prom is in June but so far I was very happy with their service and would recommend this store for anyone who needs a dress for prom, sweet 16, quincera, special occasion because they are the best!!! read more

I feel the need to write fabulous things about the women hiding behind the rows of dresses at 2B Seen. I started shopping there when I was 13 for my Bat Mitzvah dress and suit, followed by two prom dresses and endless amounts of tailoring. These fabulous ladies do a top notch job of fitting and tailoring your most prized pieces, in fact I've moved into NYC recently and make sure on my trip home to stop by for any tailoring needs. If it's not done right the first time, they go back and fix it, no questions asked. You've got a deadline to meet, they'll get it back to you in time. They really are an unbelievable duo! read more

I agree with Christina. Went in there with my daughter to look at dresses. Same experience: They didn't let me browse but insisted they pick out the dresses. When I told them I wasn't prepared to buy that day (it was our first dress stop), they turned cold. I then asked if they could note which dress it was we liked (i wanted to think it over), and they said, "The dress may not be here when you come back if someone else buys it." I said, "Well, then you could order another one" (the dress was way too big for my daughter, anyway), and she said, "No. That's the only one. We won't order it." She said other rude things to me; I don't understand why, if they want my sale, they'd be so rude. I do not respond to pressure sales tactics (let alone rudeness). I contacted 2 B Seen on the hunt for a dress that a local dress store insisted that I order in a size too large. Unfortunately, the dress would have been difficult to alter, and the smaller size was unavailable on backorder from the manufacturer and due to arrive in 3 months, only 1 week before my party. I called over 20 dress stores across the U.S. and 2B Seen happened to have my size in stock. Fran was very helpful on the telephone and located the dress for me and had it waiting after my almost 2 hour drive. She spent a lot of time with me ensuring that it was the right size, (a tight squeeze-lol), and offered kind advice regarding appropriate undergarments. Her price for the dress was very fair as well. I wish I lived closer because this dress shop had many beautiful gowns at a fraction of the prices that I found at local dress shops. read more

I purchased a gown from here and when it was time for me to pick up the dress, the company was on vacation. This is not a big store, and not a very busy one. It's a small boutique. I still cannot understand how can someone be so irresponsible and just leave without looking at their records and check to see if any dresses were not picked up. My daughter's wedding was July 28th. I had to run around town and buy another dress and have it altered. With only two days left!!! We paid over $600.00 for this dress!!! I also found out they did this this other customers. My family has gone to 2 B Seen for both of my daughters Bat Mitzvahs. They were wonderful to all of us, especially my mom, who was sick and needed some extra help and care. We were able to find dresses, with their help, for the service and for the party. The prices were great and the alterations were included. They were able to get us a dress we had seen elsewhere at a better price because the alterations were included. They did a great job at making us all look beautiful and accommodating any needs that we had. The tailoring was perfect! I will never set food in 2B Seen ever again! I went there looking for a dress for my son's bar mitzvah. At first the salesperson was nice and brought me some great dresses. This is a big pruchase and I just needed to think about it.When I told this to the saleslady she said (in a rude tone, as I was getting redressed) "If you aren't going to try on anything else then I'll need the fitting room for someone else." She then turned her back on me and walked away without another word. How rude! I saw a dress there that I loved and ended up buying that same dress in another shop because of how rude that woman was to me at the store. They lost a sale and I would not recommend the store to my dozens of friends who are shopping for their childrens' bar/bat mitzvahs. read more

I bought two gowns there when my daughters' got married and was thrilled with their knowledge, gown selection, service and their free alterations. I recommended many people there. The last gown I bought was beautiful but something happened that left a very bad impression on me. I bought a pair of $25 earrings to match my gown. When I went to put the earrings on the morning of my daughter's wedding, the back of the earrings kept falling off and I couldn't secure the earrings to my ear. In a panic, I found another pair to wear but they really didn't match. Then, when I wore the gown it was too long and I kept tripping on it during the wedding. Maybe the crinoline relaxed, I don't know but it was extremely uncomfortable. I brought the gown back to be re-hemmed and brought the earrings back, too. I got a strange vib when I explained the situation and requested a refund on the earrings She replied first she'd see what the alteration involved then decide if a refund was appropriate. I left feeling very disappointed but decided to see how it played out when I went back for the gown. When I went back she told me she sold those earrings to another customer who reported they were fine and there was nothing wrong with them. She wasn't going to return my money for those earrings. I felt completely violated and wasn't satisfied with paying for defective earrings but more importantly I felt accused of lying. I asked for a replacement pair of earrings which she agreed to but I left feeling totally exploited because I would never lie about $25 earrings and I will never trust them again. read more

The staff is the rudest I have ever encountered in retail and they don't get any nicer once you find the dress and have to come back for alterations. They have no respect for your personal space, literally opening up the dressing room curtain while you are half naked! I had brought my daughter to this store eager to find a dress for my daughter's bat mitzvah. When we entered the store they asked my daughter for requests and they didn't even budge. They looked for about a minute for dresses and only came back with three dresses and an attitude. The lady went into the room with my daughter and LEFT THE CURTAIN OPEN! She even led my daughter out of the room with her whole back showing! This all happening when other people were in the store! Fed up my daughter asked if I would take a picture already so that we could leave. Then the lady shouts "No pictures! Do you see the sign?" My daughter stood there in shock and the lady yelled "Well? Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! Go somewhere else. High pressure sale, LOW quality service and over priced merchandise. When there with my daughter to look for a prom dress. The lady there approached us to find out what we were looking for. I showed the picture of a 2 piece off-white dress on the wall in the store as an example of what we liked, she then pull out a maroon dress, I told her no. A light color 2 piece dress is what I wanted, she seemed irritated that I didn't like her choice. She finally pick a dress similar to what I was looking for and show us to the fitting room. My daughter tried on the dress and wanted to take a picture to get her father's opinion (as sales are final) and was told it's not allowed. As my child was changing, she was only in her panty the sales lady barged in without notice exposing her to the other customers and made her feel very uncomfortable. Worst experience ever!!! Runway NY in the Roosevelt Field Mall have dresses from $70 and up with way better customer service. read more

Horrible and very rude service!! When it comes to dress shopping, the women there have NO manners what so ever! They have no patience and put you in constant rush- it's either find a dress now or get out!! As soon as i walked in they gave me no space to look at any of the dresses myself, and just plucked whatever they found and threw me in a fitting room. They were breathing down my neck as I was trying to take a look and rushed me to try on the ones THEY picked out....The fitting room experience was horrendous! Every second they would literally OPEN the curtain as i was half-naked or undressing to check on me. I didn't even have time to think of how the dress would look on me because as soon as i got out, all they wanted me to do was just buy it!! When they realized I didn't have the money that day, since i was just planning to look at what types of dresses they had, they wouldn't even let me try on anymore!! They were very stuck-up and just plain ANNOYING! This was honestly the WORST dress shopping experience of my life!! My friend and I ran out of that place within minutes because we couldn't stand their attitude!! All they want is your money and cannot even give quality service. Stay away from this dress shop!!! There are so many other shops with owners who actually care about their customers that there is no reason to give people like the owner of 2BSeen any business. We had gone there to look for a Bat Mitzvah dress for my daughter and found one that she fell in love with. At first, the owner was very nice, but as soon as I told her that I would have to come back with my husband, she became very curt and rude. We returned within 2 hours, and even called her to tell her we were on our way and wanted the dress, and when we got to the store (5 minutes later), someone else was in the process of purchasing the same dress for more money. The owner didn't care that she made my daughter cry, she just wanted to make more money. She never apologized and when we confronted her about why she didn't say anything to us when we called that there was someone else interested in the dress or hold onto the dress for us when she knew we were on our way, she just said "so". She has lost any business from us and anyone I can tell this story to. Only after we had this awful experience did I find out that many other people I talked to had similar experiences with 2B Seen. read more

Normally I'm not the type to do reviews like this, but after the experience I had here with my daughter I feel like I have to share it. The ladies at the store were unbelievably rude to me and my 17 year old daughter, who was looking for a prom dress. First they started by insisting my daughter should try on dresses that were a much larger size than she actually is, because according to them she is "heavy". My daughter is not "heavy" at all, and I could tell she was offended (as was I). When my daughter picked a dress that was a 6 (her size) they would not even let her try it on, insisting that it'd be too small. They then put the dress back and handed her dresses that were much more expensive, and not her size. After the sizing issue, they then began handing my daughter dresses that were much more revealing. My daughter and I attempted to explain that that was not what she was looking for, as she tends to wear more conservative dresses, as that is what she is most comfortable in. The lady would not listen, and said that since my daughter was "grown up" that she needed a "grown up" dress. They then called my daughter's selection of dresses to try on "childish", and they proceeded to hand her dresses that we had already said no to. Eventually my daughter and I just walked out, as it was not worth putting up with those women for a dress. Never have I experienced anything like this, and I found their comments completely unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more
