Well the good is they are convenient location for me. The bad Horrible communication We waited 30 mins before being seen No updates etc.. only to find out they had an emergency that's fine but there were two people sitting at the front desk that could have updated us. Then the vet sees him and we decide to do a ear wash and she was gonna draw up a sedative to give him We have been waiting ANOTHER 20 mins!!!!! Communication is horrible!!!!! I am big on Communication!!! Plus I have a very anxious easily stressed out and this visit has been very stressful for me and him!!!

Happy dog

My dog was bit by a Rottweiler in his groin area. There was a very deep hole that tore through tissue making it a high risk wound. Took him here for an emergency visit. 2 visits and 3 weeks later my boy is back to new running around like nothing happened! I swear he has even more energy than before. The doctors and staff here are awesome. The prices were very fair for the operations he needed (except for the x ray, but those are expensive everywhere unfortunately ) and they offer a 6 month 0 interest payment plan which is nice. Also, he is as anxious as a dog can get when at the vet. They were all very understanding and patient with him. Thank you to everyone here for giving me peace of mind during a scary time and helping Jax! Side note: Im surprised to see a lot of reviews talking about being pushed expensive treatment options and a lack of care from the staff. I didn't get that feeling at all. They were open and honest about what was necessary and what wasn't. I didn't get the feeling they were looking at my dog with dollar signs in their eyes. In fact, what inspired me to write this review was thinking back to how comfortable they made this whole process.

They handle my dog Bleu with care. He was 13 years old. He was coughing up blood every so often. He wasn't really eating and couldn't drink water unless we brought it to him. The day we brought him in he had a fall outside trying to do his potty time. The first place we took him to he was in pain and couldn't even get himself up. They refused to help. They said there was nothing they could do unless I prove ownership. Even though the chip company had a picture on file with me and him in the back of my excursion. The chip company is closed on weekends come to find out. I called 1st pets in a panic. They were so kind even though I was a bit snappy. When we arrived they brought out the gurney to bring in Bleu. They made everything so comfortable. We were in a private room. It was as calming as can be even though I was mentally overwhelmed. They had treats to give to him and chocolate kisses for ourselves. It was truly a great experience for the circumstances. Not only was I losing my service animal I was losing a family member. I came to pick up his ashes and everything and I couldn't say much once handed everything. The lady didn't just hand me his ashes but she went through it all with me. They even put in a card signed by staff and a grievance pamphlet. I can't even express how pleased I am. I want to thank the entire staff at the location on 7th ave and union hills.

1st Pet Veterinary's amazing staff saved my pups life after ingesting a lethal amount of xylitol. I literally had to carry in a 75 pound dog going into hypoglycemia. They kept him for 3 days and cared for him like you wouldn't believe. They sent pictures and called with updates multiple times a day. I will forever be thankful for their quick to take action and professionalism. I am forever grateful that you saved Bear.

RIP; Loved our boy. Euthanasia

I truly hope assurances that he wasn't just suffering and ignored until I showed up true. Quick to suggest just transferring somewhere else when he's now unstable due in no small part to unnecessary surgery. We had already given him Benadryl before arriving. The staff told us they were going to administer a steroid injection, which we agreed to and believed had been done. Later, we found out that no steroid was given at all. Instead, they gave my dog another shot of Benadryl--something he had already received--while acting as if it was the steroid they said he needed. Because his condition didn't improve, we had to rush him to another clinic, where he was immediately given the steroid shot that actually helped him. Beyond the medical issue, the staff was rude, dismissive, and lacked compassion. They acted as though they cared about my pet, but their actions proved otherwise. This felt careless and misleading, and it put my dog at risk. Now I'm stuck disputing the charge with my bank for services that were either misrepresented or not properly provided. Please think twice before bringing your pet here. When it comes to your animal's health and safety, honesty and proper care matter--and that was not my experience at this clinic.

When we arrived, the team triaged her quickly. Kaitlynne was incredibly patient and understanding while gathering information from me. My cat is quite spicy and only made it through the weigh-in before we discussed sedation. It was very stressful signing paperwork about resuscitation, but Kaitlynne and Edie remained kind and empathetic while I signed paperwork and paid through tears. I later received an update call from Jasmine, who let me know she was able to handle my cat without sedation. It was such a relief and I was pleasantly surprised that every effort was made before resorting to sedation, even after I had approved it. Yami helped process the discharge and provided the updated invoice reflecting that sedation was not needed. She was friendly, sweet, and very informative. Jasmine provided me with a Certificate of Bravery for my cat and a detailed explanation of the care provided and what to keep an eye out for at home. Although I did not have direct contact with him, I am extremely grateful to Dr. Huitt for caring for my cat. The entire team was a perfect balance of professional and compassionate throughout the stressful experience. While I hope I never need emergency vet care again, it is comforting to know such exceptional care is close by. Thank you, BluePearl Peoria team!

The entirety of the visit, I could hear staff giggling through the door of the euthanasia room. At one point there was loud laughing right outside the door from the treatment area. I was having the worst day of my life and having to deal with a lack of professionalism from staff made it worse. I want to note that this does not involve the front desk or attending veterinarian. Coming from the veterinary field myself, hearing laughing during a vulnerable moment in your life is something no client should ever to experience. It's rude, disrespectful, and not good practice. I spoke to the manager when I went to pick up my dog's ashes- I realized I do not want an apology from the manager. I want an apology from the staff involved. I also believe they should pursue training on behavior during end of life cases. Do not go here if you are seeking an ounce of compassion from the back staff. I cannot say goodbye to my pet again, but you can hold in your laughter until I am out of the building.

-- Our experience with BluePearl: Please read before choosing an internist…read more I don't often write reviews, but I feel a responsibility to share what happened with my dog, Dresden, in hopes of helping other pet parents avoid the confusion, cost, and heartbreak we went through. We brought Dresden to BluePearl because we were concerned he might have Cushing's disease. We were prepared for diagnostics, answers, and a clear treatment plan. Instead, after 2 visits, thousands of dollars, and a long list of tests, we left with less clarity than when we started. Despite our concerns about Cushing's, Dresden was never actually tested for it. Dr. Ford told us she didn't think he had Cushing's--and even if he did, she likely wouldn't treat it. That was extremely confusing for us as owners trying to identify the cause of his symptoms and advocate for our dog's health. Over time, Dresden's symptoms worsened. Eventually, he ended up in the emergency hospital after what was likely a vascular event triggered by untreated Cushing's. Heartbroken and desperate for answers, we took him to Salt River--where he was finally tested, and officially diagnosed with Cushing's disease. I understand that medicine isn't always straightforward, and no internist can predict everything--but what we needed was someone who listened, took our concerns seriously, and followed through with appropriate diagnostics. We didn't get that from Dr Sara Ford at BluePearl. In fact, we were poorly treated, misinformed and made to feel we were bothering her for following up for direction when his condition worsened. If you are seeking an internist who will be thorough, proactive, and aligned with you in getting to the root of your pet's issues, I urge you to look elsewhere. You deserve a team that takes your concerns seriously and doesn't leave you with more questions than answers. We wish we had gone to Salt River from the start. It could have saved Dresden pain and us thousands of dollars months of stress, fear, and unnecessary expense.
