My dog, broken arm
Cynthia F.

I dropped off my 5 month old puppy at 1pm they just called me and are sending me home with a dog with a broken arm!!! They wanted 1200!!!! After keeping her in that cage for over 8 hrs!!! It's 9pm they charge 250 just to be seen!!! Horrible place!! Heartless people.. update I found a wonderful place that I will be leaving a review on just around the corner from them who took my dog in for 150 did the two x-rays for 300 and the cast for two and also help me out on a payment program. Thank God, they're still good people out here.. some people just work at places to work there to get paid others worked there because they actually care.... If the voice is high-pitched, it's fake. This place basically abandoned my dog for several hours and had me pay over $400 just to bring her home with a broken arm not even an x-ray done. Nothing at all she just sat in that cage!!!

Well the good is they are convenient location for me. The bad Horrible communication We waited 30 mins before being seen No updates etc.. only to find out they had an emergency that's fine but there were two people sitting at the front desk that could have updated us. Then the vet sees him and we decide to do a ear wash and she was gonna draw up a sedative to give him We have been waiting ANOTHER 20 mins!!!!! Communication is horrible!!!!! I am big on Communication!!! Plus I have a very anxious easily stressed out and this visit has been very stressful for me and him!!!

Happy dog

My dog was bit by a Rottweiler in his groin area. There was a very deep hole that tore through tissue making it a high risk wound. Took him here for an emergency visit. 2 visits and 3 weeks later my boy is back to new running around like nothing happened! I swear he has even more energy than before. The doctors and staff here are awesome. The prices were very fair for the operations he needed (except for the x ray, but those are expensive everywhere unfortunately ) and they offer a 6 month 0 interest payment plan which is nice. Also, he is as anxious as a dog can get when at the vet. They were all very understanding and patient with him. Thank you to everyone here for giving me peace of mind during a scary time and helping Jax! Side note: Im surprised to see a lot of reviews talking about being pushed expensive treatment options and a lack of care from the staff. I didn't get that feeling at all. They were open and honest about what was necessary and what wasn't. I didn't get the feeling they were looking at my dog with dollar signs in their eyes. In fact, what inspired me to write this review was thinking back to how comfortable they made this whole process.

They handle my dog Bleu with care. He was 13 years old. He was coughing up blood every so often. He wasn't really eating and couldn't drink water unless we brought it to him. The day we brought him in he had a fall outside trying to do his potty time. The first place we took him to he was in pain and couldn't even get himself up. They refused to help. They said there was nothing they could do unless I prove ownership. Even though the chip company had a picture on file with me and him in the back of my excursion. The chip company is closed on weekends come to find out. I called 1st pets in a panic. They were so kind even though I was a bit snappy. When we arrived they brought out the gurney to bring in Bleu. They made everything so comfortable. We were in a private room. It was as calming as can be even though I was mentally overwhelmed. They had treats to give to him and chocolate kisses for ourselves. It was truly a great experience for the circumstances. Not only was I losing my service animal I was losing a family member. I came to pick up his ashes and everything and I couldn't say much once handed everything. The lady didn't just hand me his ashes but she went through it all with me. They even put in a card signed by staff and a grievance pamphlet. I can't even express how pleased I am. I want to thank the entire staff at the location on 7th ave and union hills.

VEG saved my dog's life!!!…read more My dog, Emma, was getting very sick very fast, when my vet recommended taking her to a hospital for 24 hour fluids and monitoring of her kidneys. I took her to VEG, and the experience here was nothing short of exceptional. To start, checking in was like going to a real hospital. When we walked in, she was immediately triaged by the vet and techs. They talked me through their process, recommendations and provided pricing for total transparency. All of this took place on the open floor, so I could stay with my dog through it all which was comforting. They also let me know that we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted and even stay the night, which was an incredible offer. My dog ended up needing to stay for 4 days, which was scary and stressful, but we felt so much more comfortable leaving her there because we knew she was getting the best care. Everyday we received progress update calls from the vet. We also got to stay and sit with Emma for as long as we wanted each day, where we got to witness how much everyone truly cares for all their pet patients. Honestly, the amount of love shown to every person and pet was moving. When Emma finally turned the corner to safely bring her home, the staff literally rolled out a red carpet so everyone could clap and say goodbye. It still brings a tear to my eye that they did that for her. I am so grateful to everyone at VEG for taking amazing care of my baby, but an extra special shoutout has to go to Emma's nurse Mary. She was so kind, open, gentle and loving with Emma. The love Mary showed us all will never be forgotten. Thank you VEG for making the hospital process so transparent, for everyone's hard work, and for making our baby healthy again

First off I didn't ask to take out a line of credit .(My credit is shit personally) I asked for RESOURCES THAT WOULD HELP fix my service animal leg I would never recommend this place of any emergency unless you're rich. Maybe then they will treat you like a human and treat your dog with respect. Even with pet Insurance you STILL have to pay UPFRONT and you'll just get reimbursed. Pet insurance is a scamm and these people don't gaf unless you're flashing money in their face. Fkkk your emergency. Literally ask the nice nasty receptionist If I can give them negative stars I would. Worst experience of my life goes to VEG

My baby was a senior cat and when I asked the vet what she would do her eyes filled up and she said it was time. I wasn't ready but the vet and techs made me and my boy as comfortable as possible, gave me time to be with him and let me tell them when to start the process. I suggest anyone that feels blindsided or unsure about any kind of life-altering medication or surgical procedure, to take their time. It is your choice as to how to approach things. It is tough here to get consistent care because you need to schedule with a vet that you like. Dr Buscema, has been helpful and a good communicator. The technicians were Andrea, Roxan, and Lily. The procedures went well and my dog has recovered very well. This surgery was a precise surgical procedure because they shaved her eyelids. They then removed the cyst and added stitches. There are of course no guarantees as to how your pet will respond to treatment. I had also requested a callback about other testing and did receive a phone callback, this was appreciated and helpful. Sometimes as pet owners we have to take time to understand things. Keep in mind these people work very hard long hours. We responsibly bred TICA & CFA registered Ragdolls, brought all of our cats and litters here, referred our own clients, and spent thousands of dollars with this practice. I genuinely felt like I had finally found a vet I could trust. Our healthy 2-year-old male, Burleigh, went in for a routine neuter. He had idiopathic cystitis, a common stress-related bladder condition that was managed with diet and medication. We actually decided to neuter him because we suspected being a stud was causing him stress since he couldn't be with the girl cats he adored. A few hours after surgery, the vet called and told me Burleigh had started bleeding significantly and they had to put him under anesthesia a second time. When I picked him up, I was shocked by the dried blood and bruising all over his stomach, hind legs and tail. They assured us he would be fine. Over the next day, he became extremely lethargic, wouldn't eat or drink, and started having small seizure-like movements. My husband and I called and emailed Ingleside multiple times, sent photos, and explained exactly what was happening. We were repeatedly told this could be normal after surgery and to bring him in "if we felt like we needed to." This wasn't a normal neuter followed by a sleepy cat. They knew he had already had significant, unexplained bleeding and been put under twice. We were clearly concerned, but trusted the professionals telling us he was okay. By the time we rushed him to the ER, his kidney levels were off the charts and he was in acute kidney failure. The team at VEG told us they had rarely seen numbers and bruising this severe. I can't even describe how bad his surgical area looked. We transferred him to a second hospital that offered dialysis, but he ultimately went into cardiac arrest and died. I'm not claiming to know exactly what caused his kidney failure. I understand surgery and anesthesia have risks. But significant blood loss can affect blood pressure and blood flow to the kidneys. Given what happened during surgery and how quickly he declined afterward, I don't understand why our concerns weren't taken more seriously. I spoke with the doctor who performed the neuter several times over those couple of days. To her credit, she tried to answer my questions and seemed genuinely upset about what happened. But when I repeatedly asked why Burleigh had bled so much during a routine neuter, she ultimately didn't know. I can accept a doctor saying, "I don't know." Sometimes complications happen and there isn't an immediate answer. What I could not accept was how the manager, Kim, handled it afterward. Instead of acknowledging what had happened or the fact that the doctor herself couldn't explain the bleeding, Kim made excuses, blamed Burleigh's "medical record," and reminded me that I had signed paperwork acknowledging the risks of surgery. Both their own vet and the ER vets had already told us they did not believe his previous bladder condition explained what happened. Her response felt completely inappropriate and uncalled for after we had just lost our 2-year-old cat. We spent around $10,000 trying to save Burleigh and never asked Ingleside to help cover those bills. I asked them to at least refund the roughly $200 neuter. They refused and took zero responsibility. Our issue is simple: Burleigh had a known complication during surgery. We repeatedly reported serious symptoms afterward. We were repeatedly reassured. Shortly after, our healthy 2-year-old cat was in catastrophic kidney failure and died. We knew something was wrong, reached out for help, and trusted what we were told by professionals. I'll always wish we had trusted our gut instead. I would never trust my animal at Ingleside again, especially after the way the situation was handled afterward. We miss our Burleigh.
