Long story short, I made the 4 hour trip again the next day to finalize the sale and pick up the car. Classic Motor Sports will definitely be the first place I look for any future vehicle purchases.

Earlier this month I purchased a beautiful 1965 Corvette Coup from Andrew Davenport, the owner of…read moreClassic Motor Sports in Merrimack, NH. Right off, I have to thank Andrew because my first experience buying a vintage/classic car could not have been better! Besides being extremely experienced and knowledgeable about cars, Andrew was always patient in answering my myriad of questions related to the vehicle and our transaction generally. I never got the impression that he was only concerned about making the sale, but I always felt that Andrew had my best interest at heart and ultimately he wanted me to be happy with my decision to buy the car. At all times I found Andrew to be honest, sincere, helpful and professional. And, most importantly, he proved trustworthy and always kept his word. For example, when he said he would fix a minor turn signal issue, he did. He was also patient in allowing me to keep the car at his facility until it was convenient for me to bring the car back to Massachusetts. Now that I've been bitten by the vintage Corvette "bug" I'll be checking Andrew's web site regularly! And who knows, I think I'll drive to Merrimack on occasion just to have coffee and talk cars with Andrew. Paul J. Boston, MA

This is an old school mechanic's shop. They're honest. Reasonable. Unpretentious. And, they know…read morecars. Yes, there's stuff everywhere and the dogs are under foot. That's just part of the character. Darrell is one of the nicest persons I've ever met. If you want a more modern, impersonal experience, just take you car to a dealer, sit in the lounge, some guy you'll never talk to will work on your car, and you'll get an inflated bill for that privilege. I just hate to see a 1 star for these nice folks go unanswered.

Very disappointed. The mechanic (owner) was rude to my daughter every time she called and enquired…read moreabout what was wrong with her vehicle and he offered minimal information about the repair. The day after she picked up the car, she drove it and it overheated again. This was the same symptom it was brought in for and allegedly fixed. We had it towed to a dealership to discover that the mechanic at Beard's used the wrong type of coolant in the car, which caused the engine to overheat, burn all the coolant, and there is possible damage to the radiator and head gasket. We do not recommend this place. The office was filthy with junk upon junk piled everywhere, a dog laying across the counter. prescription pill bottles on the counter sitting on piles of food and what appeared to be trash. He also replaced a part that he admitted was not broken. He said that he seemed "soft". He did not call my daughter for permission to do this. He went ahead and replaced it and included the cost in the final bill. To be fair, when we picked up the car, he was nice and he did a good job explaining the repair to us .

As a result, delivery was delayed by several days. This year, after replacing the battery, the fridge stopped working. I waited nearly two months for a service appointment, and ended up dealing directly with the manufacturer to get the fridge replaced in order to avoid an even longer delay. The replacement fridge arrived scratched during installation. While at the dealership for the install, I pointed out that the rear brake lights were flickering and not functioning properly--complete with photo evidence. I was told they couldn't help because they were "unable to replicate the issue." They offered to order parts, but only if I paid out of pocket and waited. Frustrated, I decided to purchase and replace the brake lights myself due to the obvious safety risk. To my surprise, they actually had the parts on hand the whole time--clearly trying to dismiss the issue by claiming a delay in ordering. Overall, this has not been a great experience. Poor communication, avoidable delays, and dismissive service have made what should have been an exciting purchase into an ongoing source of frustration.
