M. and I thoroughly enjoyed the two dishes we split (so that we could save room for 鷄蛋仔 around the corner!) We passed by early (~5:30 pm) last Saturday evening and the place was nearly empty (warning sign). Nevertheless, we went in, grabbed a booth, and started perusing the super comprehensive menu. There's a lot of seafood dishes - which I wasn't feeling too much that day, so I was inexplicably queasy. M. and I ended up picking our mainstay of pad thai, with a plate of broccoli & squid for some fiber and texture. The food took a little longer than expected (because first, the place is empty - second, Thai food's usually made screaming hot and quick). When it did come out, however, it exceeded expectations. The pad thai was truly authentic, quite alike to the ones I've had in the Bangkok weekend market. Smoky, delicately sweet, tangy, not wet, plenty of wok hei - it hit every note it was supposed to with pinpoint accuracy. The veggie dish was equally formidable; we were actually surprised it was broccoli as Americans know it, and not gai lan (which we had intended, haha). The squid was tender and was enjoyable to eat. I'm coming here again for sure! I'd try the mango sticky rice dessert and some of the curries.

And for dessert Mango bad Black Sticky Rice! But the food here is on point. I will continue to come back time and time again.

Wow! We were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this Thai delight. Online, through OpenRice, we…read morelearned that the specialty here was Hainanese chicken rice, and so we ordered two plates. However, upon arriving, we realized that this is actually a Thai place! In fact, it's very authentically Thai too, as the servers and workers speak some Thai dialect among themselves. We ordered two Hainanese chicken, one Cambodian noodle, and one Thai style coconut cabbage. The Hainanese chicken was decently flavourful, but I wish the rice was more aromatic and full of chicken oil flavour, rather than turmeric. I adored the Cambodian style noodle! Although the base was slightly heavier in coconut milk flavour (it could've done with less), it was very tangy, sour, and spicy. There was also a plethora of spices - full pieces of lemongrass, galangal, etc. They definitely didn't skimp out on ingredients, and it showed in the flavour! The cabbage was yummy too, but given the higher price point, the portion size was slightly disappointing. Overall, I left immensely satisfied with the food. The service is average - we did wait a long time to be served water and for our orders to be taken.

My parents looooove Thai food. We can all take spices and have travelled to Thailand in search of the best bbq or boat noodles. My culinary awakening was Thai curry crab, the first spicy dish I couldn't stop eating, at the age of 9. So here we are, years later, explaining to the mister that Thai food isn't just different curries over coconut rice. There are a myriad of spices in different dishes; seafood prepared multiple ways; stir-fries that burst in flavours. And Golden Orchid delivers. We had a whole fish sizzling in tom yum soup, pad kra pao (Thai basil with meat), and satay amongst other things; all of them deliciously spicy. There were some dishes that were a bit over salted, but overall it was a great meal. Service isn't really out of the ordinary comparing to most Hong Kong places - as long as you don't mind waving down wait staff and don't expect check-ins, you will be fine!

Food came fast, drinks were refreshing and they gave a lot of longan. Coconut flesh was soft and sweet. Minced pork lettuce wrap was blasting with flavors, probably better if we asked for spicy. Chicken wings were deep fried in light batter, came with a sweet and spicy sauce. Crispy and juicy but a bit too oily for my preference. Morning glory could use a little more salt, it was a good portion. We actually ordered the crab fried rice but got the shrimp fried rice. It was still very good but having some basil would of been nice. Tom yum was delicious! Pot came with fire to keep the soup hot. Staffs were friendly and I would defiantly return!

The waitress replied, "No, you're wrong. There's actually 3 shrimp in the pad thai!" LOL!!! The shrimp here are so precious that they counted them! Oh, my lord! To top it off, it was expensive, too.
