Not sure if the Texas heat was a contributing factor, however, there was no one at the park at the time we were there. The park is well maintained and super clean. The grassy areas were perfectly manicured and aesthetically pleasing. There is also a humungous pool onsite, however, it did not appear to be operational...perhaps waiting for the hot days of summer. Silverado Ranch Park serves as a great connection point for families, children's and others to enjoy some down time and experience the greatest of being outdoors in a relaxed environment.

It has 33 parking spaces including two handicap spots. It has a large covered picnic table area with a grill and there are several picnic tables scattered about on the property. One thing that caught my attention was the fact that this park has a fenced in dog park as well. The pool area is one of the nicest I've ever seen in a residentialy owned park and is accessible by a key given only to the residents here. This park is a true asset to those who live in this area and the photos included prove it.

One of the biggest sellers to families is the new splash pad, which, compared to other splash pads in Hutto, actually works. I don't think that's a hard ask, but at this point it's worth a celebration. In addition, there's a new all-wheels track, which is a slick-designed skate track for boards and bikes, a looping half-mile trail around the park that connects to the Cottonwood Creek Trail, a small stage with turf, cornhole, a great pond, and a sensory garden with objects to touch and fiddle with, the already existing basketball court and gazebo, and plenty of single-use family/all-gender bathrooms, which I think is great. If you gotta go, just pick a door. Lastly, there are two playgrounds for the younger kids and older kids. The younger kids' playground has musical instruments, swings, and other safe activities, while the older kids' playground has a rope climber, some American Ninja Warrior obstacle course, monkey bars, and more. It's pretty sick even for an adult. The slides on it are also pretty intense and adventurous. It's slick. Overall, I will be coming back to Fritz many, many times for as long as I'm in Hutto because it feels like a great space for community and just a fun spot overall. Parking is easily available in a medium sized lot or along Presidio or Union streets. The park has the most activities of all the neighborhood parks: basketball, soccer, swimming, plus a playground with swings. There is also a cabana with four tables. Benches are located around the park, generally strategically located near the activities. There are two rusty BBQ grills, and a large grassy area. The playground has a wide variety of activities for kids. This includes climbing a wall, going down a slide, crawling through a tube. Finally, there are easy paths to follow around the park, including from the parking lot. In all, the park is designed well and seems to serve a good purpose.

During the weekends, more families bring their kids to the playgrounds, but the park is more or less empty during the week. Buttercup Creek Park also features two tennis courts with lights. You must purchase a key from Cedar Park Parks & Recreation. The courts are well-maintained and open on a first-come, first-served basis. The pool is open to the public during the summer, but check the Cedar Park Recreation website for current hours. There is also ample parking available. I took off one star because the park itself is tiny. Though it packs a ton of amenities, one could walk from one end to the other in 1-2 minutes. Overall, Buttercup Creek Park is a great place to visit.

It is a large pool with a shallow and deep end with a diving board. There is also a ramp that you can walk in slowly with your babies or handicapped persons. The ramp literally looks like a wheelchair ramp that goes into the water along one side of the pool. The pool has a "lap" part where more serious swimmers can swim laps and an "open" part where you can just float around and play in the water freely. There is also a kiddie pool that is very shallow for toddlers and babies - still needs supervision of course. There is a fenced gate around the kiddie pool to separate it from the larger pool. There is shading under a large tree and small picnic tables, too. There were also lounging chairs that you can lay back on and sun bathe. They aren't open all year round but usually only during summer break. The lifeguards are usually highschool kids .. for summer jobs. There are plenty of parking spaces, restrooms, showers to rinse off and water fountains. Also if you're into PokemonGo there are a couple of stops and a gym here. :)
