I used this company because of their environmental policy. At the bottom of their website page under the heading "Company" is "Environment". It states: " At 1-800-GOT-JUNK? we believe that together we can make a difference for future generations by focusing on responsible environmental practices today. We try to keep as much junk out of the landfill as possible, by repurposing or reselling items, donating items in good condition, and recycling where possible." Not so. According to an email I received they stated, "Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent appointment with us. We're sorry to hear that our service did not meet your expectations. We do our best to donate and recycle as much as we can. However, each region has different processes around donations and often most charities have limitations what they will accept. Our apologies again that you felt misled, this was certainly not our intent. If you have any further questions or details to add, please feel free to simply reply to this email. Thanks, Brett Customer Experience Team" So, the msg here is if you're hiring them to help you recycle, ask them who they partner with in their quest to..."make a difference for future generations by focusing on responsible environmental practices today." I asked when I called about their environmental policy and was told they do recycle but the schedulers are either told to say yes, or they really don't know, or care what the policy is. When the truck arrived the employees got out and assessed our junk and gave us a quote. We agreed on the quote and the guys started loading the junk into the truck. After a few minutes a 2nd truck showed up and the boss informed us that he was raising the quote 400+ dollars. We, of course, did not agree to this as we had already agreed with the estimate his employees had provided. The employees unloaded our junk that had already been on the truck and left. Totally unprofessional to try to up the price that much after his own employees had agreed on the price and started the work already. Will never use again. read more

I got 2 quotes from them to remove my couch. Both were $180. But when they came the priced changed to $198. I paid, and then called the company who promised me an $18 + tax refund. I never got it. 6 weeks later I called again and was told the couch cost $188 and they will refund me $10. I don't believe I will ever see this money, as they just change their prices as they go along. Not only that, but they scratched my floor badly pushing the couch out. Used the service yesterday 7/24/20 and it was an upsetting experience. I will never use this service again, they are a bait and switch company, and they don't care about customer service. When booking the service, I made it clear to the rep that it was a houseful of furniture and I needed a big truck to haul it off. The rep said, "No problem", told me the estimated cost of $914 and cost may go up a bit depending on the volume. The movers get there, announce that the cost would be $1,800, and needed additional 2 trucks because there was other customers' stuff already on the truck! I am like WHAT?? I was not told that much, never was told that there would be other customer's junk on the trunks, did not explain to me how the cost works with other people's junk in the trucks, no upfront explanation on how the process works. The company is slick because they get you stuck when the movers arrive and you have no choice but to do it. Not only that, the movers threw my grandmother's chair over the front stoop railing and broke it. That was my grandmother's chair - just show some respect. Called customer service, the rep kept interrupting me and would not let me state my case. I was appalled at the sticker shock and the lousy attitude from your company. The rep said she would have an agent from Staten Island call me to handle the matter. Did I get a call? No, of course not. Buyer beware, and I will be filing a report with the BBB. Your company is not transparent and you hold back information that the customer needs to know. Shame on you!! read more

Spent $500, did not remove all of my "junk" because their truck was too full, did NOT clean up after themselves. Service a far cry from what website claims. GO ELSEWHERE read more
