I didn't know much about Belfast but I certainly knew that it was home of Game Of Thrones…read moreproduction. This Game Of Thrones Tour offers two routes from Belfast. South route(Winterfell) and North route(Ironisland). Since north route sounded more scenic as it goes along Northern Irish coast, we chose the latter. It was £50 per person and whole day affair. So, make sure to leave your entire day open for this. We rendezvoused at Jury's hotel at 7:45am and boarded on the bus. And our guide Richard was an extra in the show himself. His red long beard once made me think that he was a Tormond's stunt double.(but he wasn't) Entire way through he was talking but NEVER ONCE I wanted him to be quiet. Because he was very informative and HILARIOUS! They are also equipped with plenty of House of Greyjoy costume and weapons(swords and axes) for photo shoot. Although we were tourists, we became the attraction ourselves when people saw us in the group wearing those, carrying weapon at the House of Greyjoy site. Every stop was breathtakingly scenic. I honestly think that you can still enjoy even if you don't watch the show. Definitely check this tour out and ask for Richard. He's really a fun guy.

The communication was clear and they allowed me to choose which tour to do instead, and I chose Iron Islands. The pick-up time was exactly what was stated on the itinerary...actually, the bus was already parked at the meeting point 10 minutes early. The guide I got was Richard and I automatically thought in my head: "he must be a Wildling...maybe, even Tormund". A few minutes later, I saw a guy that look like Ser Davos who parked right in front of our tour bus! The tour was informative without being boring. And in true GOT fashion, there were curse words...yeah!!! We went to several filming locations in the northeastern part of Northern Ireland. Oh my, were the sites amazingly beautiful! We had a lunch stop at a GOT-themed bar in Ballintoy. We had a reasonable amount of stops to see sites, stretch our legs, grab a quick snack/ drink, and bathroom break. The bus has a USB power outlet which I didn't discover until we were almost back to Belfast. This was one of the most memorable parts of my European vacation. And whatever I did and wherever I went prior to doing this tour, I had forgotten about already. I'd have to come back to Belfast to do the Winterfell tour and meet the Direwolves as well.

It's definitely the place to go to pick up a few leaflets on what's happening in Bangor, as well as the usual information on activities / places to visit / holidays around the rest of the province. My requirement was the latter, and so my sister and I popped in to see what we could find. Bank Holiday Monday was surprisingly quiet around these parts, so ironically the only 'tourists' in the place were myself and my sister. As soon as we got in through the door (with it's little dangly tune), we were greeted by a chirpy worker who asked us if we were ok or needed any help. I informed him we were fine, and satisfied with this answer, he went back to his seat and continued his conversation with his colleague (Bank Holiday Monday = easy pay, so it would seem). After a brief look around, I picked up a few leaflets on the North Down Museum, the North Down Coastal Path, events in the area, and that sort of thing. Content with my find, we left Mr Chirpy and the TIC, and went on our way. Four stars for little extra bit of customer service I've failed to find in any other Tourist Information Centre. I applaud thee Mr Chirpy.

On a whirlwind 2 week vacation to Ireland, the girlfriend & I tried to see & experience absolutely as much of this incredible land as we could. We did not accomplish every last activity we wished we could have on our rather ambitious itinerary. Nonetheless, we did discover a land of numerous stunning & magical wonders. We did see a land of unending natural beauty. We did learn of a land with a monumentally long history of trials, tragedies & triumphs. We did get to meet many kind, humorous, warm & generous people. Our vacation to Ireland was just 2 weeks, but that was time enough to know this is a land easy to love & a land to be sorely missed. The girlfriend & I had gone on a city bus tour of Dublin & thoroughly enjoyed it. Because of this, we decided to do the same in Belfast. Just like the bus tour in Dublin, Belfast Sight Seeing operates brightly colored, open-top double decker buses. For a fast & efficient way to see a very large portion & many different areas of Belfast, this is an outstanding option. Unlike the bus tour in Dublin where the driver of the bus was also the guide, the Belfast Sight Seeing bus tour divided the labor. Our bus had both a dedicated driver & a narrative guide who walked around & visited with us in between describing the sights. Our guide was knowledgeable & full of amusing anecdotes. One drawback of this tour compared to the one we went on in Dublin is the lack of structured stops along the tour route. This tour is billed as "hop on, hop off" but getting off the bus at any particular place has to be arranged. The bus tour in Dublin was much more flexible. In Dublin, we could get off at every stop & another bus would be along to pick us up 15 minutes later. Most of the time, I wouldn't necessarily want to get off the bus, but stopping near certain sights would have been nice just to have an extra moment to look around. Nevertheless, the Belfast Sight Seeing bus tour took us to many, many beautiful, interesting & historic sights in Belfast. In just the short time of this tour, we got to take a look at & get a feel for the city of Belfast & its character. Belfast is a lovely city with many warm & friendly people. I truly hope there can be balanced & lasting peace & happiness for everyone there.

A Belfast native, he grew up during the era of the Troubles, but his memory stretches from the settlement days and in and around every corner. You'll find on his eclectic tours that you can steer the discussion in any direction you wish. You'll only fail at trying to temper his enthusiasm. I understand that he offers tours that focus on history or street art or other specific subjects or neighborhoods, but I imagine your best bet would be to do as we did and just unleash him. Belfast is a city with good restaurants and attractions but a good tour helps bring out the incredibly rich history and will certainly show you a hole-in-the-wall or two you'd never have otherwise found. We went out on the town for a pretty unscripted three hours. My 78 year-old father started to fade along the way, so Marti detoured to a nearby spot for a quick cuppa, enabling our small group the legs to carry on. Next time I may leave Dad behind in order that I might test Marti's stamina in full. And if you still aren't convinced this is a great way to introduce yourself to local lore, take a gander at the glowing comments on Trip Advisor.

I attended today, Sunday 5 February 2017, and found it fantastically enthralling. Our Tour Guide Adam delivered an informative and entertaining two hours, which at only £8 per person, was great value for money. We wandered at a leisurely pace viewing a huge number of beautiful, thought provoking and inspiring artworks. It's great to see there's so much more to Belfast than old, sectarian murals from our troubled past. Instead this tour highlights recent, contemporary, Urban Art in and around Belfast's Cathedral Quarter which has sprung up over the last few years revitalising and brightening the city. We learnt how different pieces of Street Art were created, the techniques employed, who the Artists are and background stories of how the works came to be. Thanks to Seedhead Arts, this is definitely the best thing currently happening in Belfast. I very highly recommend this Tour - it's wonderful food for the eyes and uplifting for the soul.
