I didn't know much about Belfast but I certainly knew that it was home of Game Of Thrones production. This Game Of Thrones Tour offers two routes from Belfast. South route(Winterfell) and North route(Ironisland). Since north route sounded more scenic as it goes along Northern Irish coast, we chose the latter. It was £50 per person and whole day affair. So, make sure to leave your entire day open for this. We rendezvoused at Jury's hotel at 7:45am and boarded on the bus. And our guide Richard was an extra in the show himself. His red long beard once made me think that he was a Tormond's stunt double.(but he wasn't) Entire way through he was talking but NEVER ONCE I wanted him to be quiet. Because he was very informative and HILARIOUS! They are also equipped with plenty of House of Greyjoy costume and weapons(swords and axes) for photo shoot. Although we were tourists, we became the attraction ourselves when people saw us in the group wearing those, carrying weapon at the House of Greyjoy site. Every stop was breathtakingly scenic. I honestly think that you can still enjoy even if you don't watch the show. Definitely check this tour out and ask for Richard. He's really a fun guy. read more

This is my second GOT tour. I was supposed to do two tours from Belfast: Winterfell, and Iron Islands. But due to storm Erik, one had to be cancelled. The communication was clear and they allowed me to choose which tour to do instead, and I chose Iron Islands. The pick-up time was exactly what was stated on the itinerary...actually, the bus was already parked at the meeting point 10 minutes early. The guide I got was Richard and I automatically thought in my head: "he must be a Wildling...maybe, even Tormund". A few minutes later, I saw a guy that look like Ser Davos who parked right in front of our tour bus! The tour was informative without being boring. And in true GOT fashion, there were curse words...yeah!!! We went to several filming locations in the northeastern part of Northern Ireland. Oh my, were the sites amazingly beautiful! We had a lunch stop at a GOT-themed bar in Ballintoy. We had a reasonable amount of stops to see sites, stretch our legs, grab a quick snack/ drink, and bathroom break. The bus has a USB power outlet which I didn't discover until we were almost back to Belfast. This was one of the most memorable parts of my European vacation. And whatever I did and wherever I went prior to doing this tour, I had forgotten about already. I'd have to come back to Belfast to do the Winterfell tour and meet the Direwolves as well. read more

Great great tour. The favorite part of our trip. Northern Ireland was full of memorable polite fantastic people but our favorite was Andrew. Me and my sons went on the tour. Didn't sleep the night before and just injured my back, and dealing with all that I had the best time I've had in years. We will be back and if possible to send me a way to contact Andrew to share our gratitude. I wanted to before we left but we with the help of Andrew and the driver helped us get on the train to Belfast before we were late and amongst the bustle I believe I forgot to thank them properly. It was so nice. Thank you Robbie and Trevor for an amazing journey. Beautiful scenes and a lot of reminder to the series. You'll see where Arya emerge from getting stabbed in Braavos; the Cushendun caves where Melisandre gave birth to the shadow, the islands that were the based for Iron Islands and Dragonstones, the Dark Hedges. There are other secrets about the series that were also unraveled during the trip. You can even get a photo of you sitting on the Iron Throne for free, and try the best food here as well. The tour was incredible and so worth it!! Our tour guide Bryan was so entertaining and it was cool that he'd acted in almost every season of the show. The bus rides play awesome behind the scenes videos of the filming. The first stop of the tour is Winterfell. Be prepared that it looks very little like the winterfell on TV and don't expect it to because I did. CGI is amazing! It was still so cool and Bryan showed us screenshots of the scenes in the exact spots they were filmed which really helps with the visual. From winterfell we did a beautiful hike that explored where they filmed The Twins, scenes from Brienne and Jaime's journey in season 3, and more. The scenery was gorgeous and I feel I learned so much about GoT, filming in general, and Irish history. The whole tour had a lot of Irish history which was cool. From there we went to the Cuan for lunch for a great meal and then the best part was meeting the direwolves!!! We met Summer and Greywind and they're the goodest boys that ever gooded. As an FYI they aren't promised on the tour because being live animals they just can't do that every day so I got really lucky. It's not scheduled activity. Next was Inch Abbey, where the scenes with Robb being named King of the North were filmed. Bryan gave us all cloaks and swords and we re enacted a scene from season 1 and it was so fun and silly to get into. Inch Abbey is beautiful too. Lastly we went to Tollymore Forest Park where the Starks found the direwolves and where the first scene of GoT with the white walkers was filmed. Not only was it cool for GoT but the gardens and nature is absolutely STUNNING. The tour lasted from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM and was one of my favorite days from the trip! read more

What an amazing tour! I travelled up to Belfast for the weekend specifically for this Game of Thrones tour. I was rescheduled to the Iron Islands & Giant's Causeway tour as my original Winterfell tour was cancelled due to our tour guide having an illness. I was a bit weary of the new tour but it was amazing. Richard was our tour guide and I learned so much from him. I would definitely do this again. A must do for Game of Thrones fans and a definitely should do for anyone else. read more

What a fun day! As a big fan of the show, I absolutely loved the tour! Our guide Aenne gave us great descriptions at every stop and showed us plenty of pictures and video to give us an idea of what we were looking at and a sense of how they used each location. We did the Dublin to Winterfell tour. The bus (a luxury Mercedes coach) was fun as they had plenty of videos to keep you entertained along the way. Our drive, Denis, was great getting us into some tight spots. From the tour, the great food at the Lobster pot, getting to use cloaks on our walk, pet real direwolves, play with swords, it was a great day for myself and even my wife, who has only seen three episodes. I love this tour! Our tour guide, Eric, was actually an extra on the show, so he had a lot of inside information about the cast, filming, and film locations. It was so interesting. We hiked to several different locations where the show was filmed, and Eric had screenshots of the scenes to help you remember. My favorite part of the tour was meeting two of the wolves from the show. They're actually dogs, and they were so sweet. It was worth every penny. An important note if you have someone with limited mobility in your party: they will not be able to participate in a lot of the tour. I am a healthy woman in my 30s, and I found parts of the tour challenging. You literally have to hike for hours. That being said, it was definitely worth it. You even get to play around with real swords close to the end of the tour. It was great fun! read more

We had a great time on our Game of Thrones tour with Adrian as our guide to the Iron Islands filming locations. Adrian was awesome, filled with info on what it is like to film the show, as he has been an extra on the show for a few seasons now. Great ride around the Antrim coast, it's honestly worth it for the scenic views alone. If you want to see the Game of Thrones filming locations, this is the way to do it. It wouldn't be the same trying to see it all on your own. Don't waste any time booking your tour! This tour is easy to book. Simply go on their website selected the date and it's about 55€ the bus leaves at 8am sharp. My friends and I went on a Thursday and the bus was at near capacity. The bus does not have wifi. It took us about two hours to get to Northern Ireland but the scenery was beautiful and our tour guide played behind the clips scenes of game of thrones as well as play a game to test your knowledge. The man and woman with the highest score get names King and queen of the north. Our first stop was Tollymore Park (note: DO wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking) the trek isn't a hard walk, perhaps 1-2 miles. However it's mostly down hill and flat terrain nothing crazy as they do take into consideration that there are people that walk slower than others. They do provide amazing cloaks as to feel as if you were one of the Starks as well as walking sticks and water. The tour guide was an extra in the show and wore his jacket proudly. We visited many locations from season 1 including where the Starks found their direwolves. After the tour we go to the bus where people can go to the restroom before departing. The second stop was lunch. We visited the Lobster Pot. (Note: the tab was in British pounds but you could pay in euros however your change will be in pounds) after lunch we crossed the street and met the direwolves!!! Grey wind and Summer. Super sweet dogs and their owners were awesome!!! We then take the bus for a 15 min ride to castle Ward where they filmed Winterfell. We walked about an easy mile. A lot of picture opportunities after that we got on the bus and went to our final destination where rob stark was named king of the north. Everyone on the bus wears their cloaks and prop weapons are distributed. By far an epic experience all my friends back home are super jealous!!!! read more

What an amazing and epic day in Northern Ireland! The Iron Islands tour covered areas which have been filmed in the Game of Thrones television series, along with the breathtakingly beautiful Giants Causeway. I would definitely recommend taking this tour, as it is not only a great way to see the breathtaking & beautiful scenery of Northern Ireland, but fun if you are a Game of Thrones fan. Our tour guide Bryan was an 'extra' actor in many of the series' shows, and so he had a lot of funny stories to tell about certain actors and scenes. In the early morning, we met in downtown Belfast, Northern Ireland and loaded onto a mid-size passenger bus -- guessing around 20 people. We had many stops, and during the drive we watched some videos onboard the bus, mixed with stories about where our next stop would be. Even though it pretty much rained steadily throughout the day, that did not dampen the spirits of my fellow tourists. We pre-ordered lunch in the morning, so that when we arrived at our lunch pub destination our food was ready and it was a very tasty lunch as well! There was a lot of walking on this tour, and since the weather can be unpredictable I would highly recommend to bring good walking shoes/boots that are weatherproof -- along with appropriate raingear. I wish I had been in Belfast longer, as I would have liked to go on their other tour of Winterfell. Also, sign-up early as seats sell out fast. BOOK IT !!!! If I could rate this tour 10 stars I would. Picked up from our hotel at 8 30 by the fantastic Robbie Atkinson our tour guide and one stop history encyclopedia and all round lovely guy....AND AN EXTRA from Game of thrones, a very loyal Baratheon Archer. From the very beginning of the private tour we were delighted with Robbies insider knowledge and insite into his many deaths as a archer. Our first stop was WINTERFELL CASTLE , absolutely breath taking surroundings, lakes and woodlands. Our tour of the castle and its grounds lasted approx 2 hours and was full of locations from the TV show, including video footage and screen shots. After this it was a stop at the Barn for a lovely meal , staff were lovely and food was amazing.Next off to Inch Abbey for so more locations from TV show, and it was time to CAPE up, and become the starks !!!! We felt a million dollars, especially when another tour pulled up and seemed very jealous of our capes, knowledgeable tour guide and of course THE REPLICA SWORDS !!!! I guess you get what you pay for.... book with the Game of thrones Tours and you won't be left feeling anything but Happy. Next stop..... Tollymore Forest ....aka where we first meet the white walkers ... where we found the Dire wolf puppies.... many camp scenes..... but its the mist stunning forest ever !!! And home to so much more which our epic tour guide dazzled us with unending fun facts and knowledge. BOTTOM LINE .... Definitely worth the cost of admission for this full day tour. Most/all of the guides are extras from the GoT series so have some great inside tips and are generally enthusiastic about the series and proud to be part of the series. Our guide (Thorn) is an extra in the Nights Watch and he has a cool perspective on the series and costumes and filming locations. This southern tour was of interest to us since we had already visited the Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede bridge on our own. This tour takes you to Castle Ward which was the filming location for Winterfell in the early seasons. The stop in the forest is beautiful and walks you through some gardens next to a river with wonderful "sexy" trees and to the filing locations where the dire wolve pups were born / found. Lunch is not included but they pass along a menu you can order in advance or you can bring your own food. They let you borrow cloaks and broad swords at one abbey site of you want to get some fun photos - and it wasn't hokey or required. They show some interesting behind the scenes GoT videos on the bus and the guide fills in on some other interesting Belfast/Irish history. read more

Had a brilliant day out with two friends. I personally don't watch the show but still really enjoyed it..Brilliantly organised, excellent driver and guide. Even though it was really windy, our guide, kept the mood up and brought interesting facts. Although it requires a lot of walking, the scenery is so beautiful you won't mind the walking. Personally my favourite part was when we were given the capes and swords :).To fully enjoy your trip, just make sure you are well dressed (waterproof, wind breakers, with a few layers underneath)!
