Me and my big brother have been huge Man Utd supporters from the age of 4 years old, but untill a few years ago we had never been to see them because our Dad is amotor nut and hates football with a passion!That is when we decided to take things into our own hands! I have now been 4 different trips in the last year with Travel Solutions and they have improved their operations on the coachs immeasurably.The buses used to go via Dublin but now go straight from Belfast to Liverpool which saves a lot of time being cooped up! The trips are reasonably priced, for example for £159 my brother and I went to see the Champions League quarter final this year.The trip includes match ticket, all coach transfer, hotel for the night and free meal on re-entry to the hotel and breakfast in the morning.You could never get this kind of value yourself! Also all the tickets are season tickets, which means better seats and 10% off in the Superstore!On the occasion my girlfriend and I went to see Utd play Everton I was right at the corner flag, and got about 50 texts from my mates who seen me on TV abusing me for looking like I was taking a picture of John O Shea's arse! The guide, Bobby, was so friendly and helpful, he was very informative and open to questions. This is a very slick service, probably because they have been doing it for so many years. I wouldn't hesitate to use Travel Solutions again for another football trip.

I decided to call into their head office on the Lisburn Road to suss them out before I handed over a wad of cash. They are mainly Internet based so the office is just a phone and computer centre really. I spoke with a guy, Kevin I think, who reassured me that they were a well established and well run operation and that I would have a blast. The rest of my contact with Ski Mc Neill was done through the Internet booking service which was efficient and safe. We had an amazing week in Livigno with no hassle and at a decent and fairly competitive price. Look 'em up - I'll hopefully be using them again next year.

Nevertheless we went to a funfair the day after and I survived not throwing up... but only just... Thomas Cook do try to go the extra mile, arranging excursions and meetings, sorting out any difficulties and giving us a bit of information about the place we are staying and how to make the most of our journey. Sadly, every single rep that I have come across has been irritatingly smug and I would love to throw under a bus. I do like the way Thomas Cook try their best to give you a holiday experience, but sometimes they can throw themselves and their smug little faces into their job so much that they become almost patronising. Still, at least they make the effort. And for that I cannot really fault them. They aren't quite Brazil, but at least they are Thomas Cook.

Their fares are cheaper than the main taxi companies but they don't boast as many cars as the main ones so when you ring, you may be kept waiting slightly longer than you would want. I did have a bad incident whereby we were going to the bus station as we had to catch an early flight and they taxi was 20 minutes late. Luckily my other half is incredibly organised so we made the bus with seconds to spare. All in all a fair company but not the largest

It was bargain hunting as usual for cheap flights and accommodation in New York. We were planning on travelling in February and were thus hoping for a cheap trip, something sub-500 squids each. In the end a deal at Thomson in the city centre proved the worthy winner, with direct flights from Belfast to Newark and three nights in a superb hotel. This little store tried its best even to track down the cheap flight end of things but alas we came up a little short. We were looking at around £320 for flights alone whereas the whole thing worked out at £420 each for the hotel as well. Friendly staff though and it was a pleasant experience. The guy who helped us was, as is often said, 'sound as a pound'.
