Jimmy and his warehouseman saved the day today for our customer. They went out of their way when they didn't have to, good caring men over here thank you. We've used them before and the customers were stoked with their service. They have warehousing, equipment and the works. They gave us the service we requested and was excellent value for the money spent. It was hard finding movers in the area that had their capabilities, but we found them at 1776. read more

Do not use this company. Thousands of $'s in damages. Good luck with a claim. We were offered $101.00 in compensation. Brand new Peloton tread taken apart incorrectly. Broken wires and missing parts. Brand new Pottery Barn mirrors. Never hung. Packed facing each other with no protection. Scratched badly. Broken dishes. Boxes packed with kitchen knives poking out the bottom and then dragged over our brand new hardwood floors. Showed up at 9:00 in the morning and finished at around 11:00 at night. If my husband hadn't starting working with them it would have gone well into the morning. One person had to leave during the move so we were offered a $200.00 credit. Big deal. No empathy from the manager. He was actually aggravated that we were upset. They know once you sign the agreement they basically can't be held accountable for anything. I recently hired 1776 Moving for my moving date of August 10, 2024 and was extremely disappointed with their service and deception. They quoted 5 hours for loading and unloading my 3-bedroom townhome but failed to clarify that 2 1/2 hours of that were actually allocated for travel. This left only 3 hours for the actual move, which was completely unrealistic. On the estimate breakdown, it states (on three separate line items) Moving Labor as 5H, Travel Time 2H and 35 minutes, and Fuel Surcharge. A reasonable individual would be led to believe that travel time is its own separate charge (given the separate line item as such) and moving labor is simply just moving labor for the workers. Instead, they stated that the 'Moving Labor' line item is not just moving labor, it includes 2 1/2 hours of travel time to the new home, and the 'Travel Time' line item is the travel time to return back to the office. This is extremely unclear and purposefully misleading for the intention of financial gain. Ultimately, this led to a surcharge of almost $600. I understand an estimate is that - an estimate, but I do not stand with getting intentionally underquoted and purposefully mislead on the quote provided to take advantage and believe my moving charges would be a reasonable number closer to the quote. My movers even advised that they (Jimmy, Cam, team, etc) tend to purposefully underquote and multiple clients have had similar issues as mine. Their website claims 'Tired of companies offering confusing estimates?' - but that is exactly what I've experienced, as well as others in their past reviews. Complete false advertisement. The lack of transparency felt ridiculously misleading and disingenuous. We wanted to support a local business and gave them ample opportunities to make things right, but they did not and do not care. The movers stole roughly 25 grand worth of jewelry and family heirlooms, and 1776 did nothing. Police couldn't get our Jewlery back. Update: The owner contacted me directly and stated he had no records this move ever occurred as their records dont go back that far, nor does he have records of a police report. I supplied him all the paperwork, and he then said there was nothing he could have done. He stated he didn't remember as the date of the incident was too long ago but then counterdicted himself, saying this is the only time this ever happened. Our experience with 1776 Movers started out well but ended up being a financial disaster. We moved from Central Florida to Central Virginia in Fall 2024. Cameron, who told us he had 12 years of estimating moves, spent time going through everything in our house - all the furniture and other goods. We opened every cupboard so he could see what was in them. We told him we would pack all the non-breakable goods, and wanted them to pack all the breakable goods. After that we sold a number of heavy goods (examples: a backyard grill, a firepit, a heavy glass display cabinet.) Our move took place in two stages - first a move into their storage warehouse for three months. Once our goods were in storage, we were informed that they would not deliver them to us in Virginia (the second stage) because they had underestimated the weight. We would owe them ALMOST DOUBLE their estimate. (Original estimate was $5494. Eventual total we paid was $10,118.) Unless we agreed to the new amount, they would not deliver our goods to our new home. A much smaller problem, but still worth mentioning is that they promised delivery on one date, confirmed it the day before. But then they didn't show up. When we called, they told us they were delayed and would deliver a day later. (So why did they confirm the delivery, and why didn't they call us to let us know about the delay?) read more

The moving team was amazing - courteous, fast, careful, personable. Best movers I have ever used. I had my floors redone, so everything had to go out, then back in. The movers moved the "heavy" stuff to the garage and storage pod, and also took my baby grand piano and digital piano to storage then brought them back. After a year being out of our home from Hurricane Irma 1776 Movers returned our goods. Before they would unload they made me pay them and sign that everything was ok. Well it was not. They charged me $2,900 in packing supplies but when they returned the boxes they had recycled boxes from a move to Alaqua Every closet had their clothes dumped into a large box. Not hung in a garment box but dumped hangers and all. Broken furniture, destroyed antiques, stolen property, and clothes damaged. Moved from Kissimmee to Melbourne, hired 1776 and was happy I did. They showed up on time, looked at what needed to be moved. Then they started work, they did not stop once except to have lunch. We had more "Stuff" and a second truck was needed, second truck arrived and the work continued. They arrived at 9am and finished packing the two truck at 10pm. They stored our belongings for two days while we closed on our new home. At our new home they once again arrived on time and worked until that evening unloading. Willy was the man in charge for our move, nice friendly guy who packed the two trucks floor to ceiling. The crew of three were workers all friendly and professional. Not one item was broken or scratched. They wrapped all furniture in moving blankets and taped the blankets around the piece. They must of used a hundred blankets and to many rolls of tape to count. Abolutely the worst moving experience. They have great reviews but I just don't see how that is possible.Many pieces of furniture broken and angry aggressive worker throwing boxes and complaining that he needed to be somewhere. Everything was literally thrown on top of each other into a storage unit which is actually the largest one available but I cannot even get into it the way they did not organize at all. Do your research. We were 100% ready exactly as they told us. 1) Told us and on email that they will package 2 TV's no charge. The movers get there $75 each. 2) Light clothes can be left in drawers. We had socks, underwear and T-shirts. They said 25 per drawer. 3) Paid for 2 garment boxes. Big used washing machine boxes with clothes thrown in. 4) We needed bed frame/headboard taken apart. They said $100 and have no tools. Just everything we planned for and asked was not true. Just can't be trusted. So after paying over 3000.00 for movers we were scrambling to pack clothes, TV's in our cars. Hired them to move a 4 BR house on July 8, 2022. Please do not hire these people! While the gentlemen doing the actual move were polite, they became increasingly careless with my items as the day progressed. They worked hard and I tipped them generously, but as I was unpacking and inspecting everything over the next few days, many items were broken. One of the movers pointed to my office desk where they clearly broke the front leg and proclaimed "we did not do that". Ditto for a side table with all the legs unable to be screwed back in. We are missing a keyboard as well. The list geos on! I called to complain and was told that they basically did not want to hear my concerns and to call the claims department if I wanted to file a claim. You have been warned of my experience. read more

We hired this company on the recommendation of another moving company that did not serve our area. We incorrectly thought we were hiring professional movers. The three men they sent in a rental truck were not. They argued amongst themselves, referred to our possessions as shit more than once, damaged nearly everything that was not boxed (so all large furniture, including broken table leg, broken glass shelves, severely damaged our stove, damaged leather chairs, bed frame, dressers... if it was uncovered, they managed to damage nearly all of it). They were not on time, and caused a delay in delivery claiming the truck would not start when they tried to leave the place from which we were moving. They did not discuss the plan for moving the items (like every other moving company we've ever had) and barely spoke with us at all. Damaging the wall by throwing items down the stairs was deemed our fault by their so called insurance company that said it was our responsibility to protect the walls. So, we were to know that they'd throw things? Lesson learned. Do not let your need hold you hostage. We should have refused them when they were an hour and a half late, and pulled up in a rental truck, and did not introduce themselves. I had a horrible experience with 11776 moving. The 3 man crew arrived over 30 minutes late, and the man in charge was nasty from the start. They bumped into many walls, didn't inform me that they broke a glass shelf until I discovered them kicking the glass into a corner. They seemed to work very slowly. All of my boxes were labeled what rooms they were to be placed in including the garage. They were split up working in different rooms so I couldn't manage or fully direct them. The nasty man set up my heavy office furniture until and companion pieces in a layout ,without consulting me, that I didn't want. When I explained what I wanted his response was, "We only move things once". Taking way longer than they should have, they announced they were done and the nasty man was intimidating saying they expect a big tip. I did tip more than I should, and when I was able to inspect how they left things, I was very angry. Heavy boxes were stacked quite high and some belonging in the garage were inside and vice versa. The queen mattress was placed on the bed still in the moving bag they insisted I have. The trundle bed metal sliding part was not only installed under the daybed, but it was left in another room. The mattress to go under the daybed was left standing up at the end of the bed. I also discovered that none of the screws were put back in the 2 hutches for the desk as well as some other components. I found them in the ziplock bad I gave them, stashed inside the cabinet. Every single piece of wooden furniture they moved now has damaged corners. They broke the leg off and antique armoire and left 2 wooden pieces behind they stashed inside the armoire. Initially they were responsive and apologized and said they'd send 2 men out at no charge to fix things. I needed to cancel that time because I was unexpectedly called into court. Ever since then, they kept promising to come, but were full of excuses not to schedule. Then a couple dates were promised then when I called to confirm, I was told they needed to reschedule. Yesterday, I told them if they didn't commit to a schedule that I'd need to find another company and contact my credit card. Their response was that I could pay their travel time, gas, and hourly rate as they would consider this a"second move". They "generously" offered a $150 discount. I don't understand how a company can mess things up so badly, promise to correct it, and then renege on their offer. Buyer beware about using them. read more

Worst experience I could have imagined. Three hours late! Began complaining about what was expected of them for this move upon their arrival. The details of the move were negotiated with a female who answered the phone, seems the two movers were aware of what she said they could do, move some items to a second floor, but the movers sure didn't like it, and they made us aware of their dissatisfaction by complaining. First item they moved was a night stand with the drawers intact and they transported it on it's top! I should have cancelled the move right there but we were up against the clock. One mover asked to use the bathroom and I said "of course,". As they moved the last piece of furniture out of the apartment, I went to shut off all the lights and found he had left the water running in the bathroom and it overran the sink and soaked the bedroom carpet and pooled on to the living room floor. There was damage to our furniture as well to the floors and walls of our new residence where they scraped against walls and floors. When the movers presented the bill at the end it was more than the estimate. We said we would take up the disputed amount with their boss, the one man was threatening in his demeanor and insisted on immediate payment. We refused and he made a big scene for all the neighbors to see. Left message for the office to call us. They never called, just took the entire amount out of our credit card they had on file for deposit. If you value your belongings and your home from being damaged don't use this company. read more

Our move included a month of storage so two different crews loaded and unloaded our belongings. A new desk that has 4 screw in legs was moved with the legs attached and one leg was broken beyond repair. Our expensive mountain bike was damaged and stored incorrectly. I lost a kitchen plastic crate with my blender and other items. A leg of the footboard of a king bed was broken -- should not have happened. They could not figure out how to assemble the three king beds. And two of the support posts for our king bed were broken in the move and not installed. I had outlined my conversations with the two managers I spoke with after the move. One was extremely unapologetic and said the dirt was my fault as I had them move a couple of plants. I explained to him I was not talking about my dirt I was talking about other peoples dirt his employees brought in to both the condo they moved out and the home they moved the furniture. He became quite defensive and I simply let him know I was calling to let them know why I was going to give them a negative review. The second manage was apologetic and said they did not deliver the experience expected. I let him know they moved the white leather couch to the truck w/o wrapping it and they told me they were going to wrap it on the truck. He said everything inside. I also let him know that they were on their phones constantly and even pulled a box out of my closet and set their phone on it to charge. I explained they were walking and talking on their phones at the same time. He said that meant that at least they were working. I advised their attention should have been 100% focused on the move as I was paying by the hour and they should not have been on their phones at all. I let him know I had a video of all the dirt they brought in to the condo and photos of them standing in the back of the truck on their phones that I could send. He did not give me his email to send it too. He said I should have called to complain. I let him know I did call Courtney when it took them almost 2 hours to drive from Daytona to Deland. He checked the GPS and confirmed the drive took them 1 hour and 40 minutes to go 22 miles. He said I should have called about their specific behavior as well. I let him know that if I needed to call the company multiple times to get his employees to do their job he was 100% confirming I hired the wrong company. read more

My husband and I hired 1776 to move us from our three bedroom two bathroom condo on June 18, 2022. In addition to moving our furniture and some personal belongings out of the condo we also wanted to get our blog eats out of storage and this was to be a one day job. With the workers arrived for the move we asked them what they would prefer to do the storage unit or the condo first? Their response was since they were already here at the condo they would prefer to do the condo first and follow up by doing the storage unit. They arrived at the condo at about 8:30 AM there is three guys we had take it all the boxes we could left downstairs and put them in the family room by the front door and we'd also take it all apart all the beds and everything was packed ready to go. One of the guys constantly was grumbling about the other guy and apparently these two gentlemen were on the job for their first day. The young man who was there supervisor was working extremely quick and did a lot to get prepared to move everything into the truck while the other two men were very slow and taking a lot of breaks and not performing as we would have expected. Yeah I'd like to say that my daughter has use this company on two of her moves over the last 6 to 7 years and I witnessed a remarkable quick professional move with 1776 for her. Our move unfortunately did not go that way. So after the grumbling my husband offered to buy them some lunch to help get them moving a little quicker. So he left purchase their lunch brought it back and the gentleman who had been grumbly got under his skin and he was grumbling Sabor my husband just told him the Grubbly has got to stop well this man did not like my husband saying anything to him about that and so he started yelling in front of me my daughter my five year old grandson dropping the F bomb telling us that we were disrespecting him and my husband finally told him that he needed to go outside and get out of our condo. Well this gentleman took that as get off my property which is not what he was saying he was asking him to remove himself so he called out but that did seem to do the trick he continue to yell and then he said he quit that he was going to go catch a bus which he never did do he went and sat the truck while the other guy was still moving at a snails pace to make a log story even longer once they got the truck finally loaded they were driving to our home rather than the storage unit to unload the truck based on the way they packed the truck there's no way they could fit any more boxes so we drove it to our house our new house they only had to put three pieces of furniture in the house everything else we also just put in the garage very simple. During the process my $2000 leather sofa the young man who is the slow mover tried to carry my loveseat on a dolly ran it into the door bringing it in and also drag it on the ground tearing up the backside of the leather when he ran it in the door he tore up the side sleeve or are near the armrest and he hit the button so now the electric headrest will not move it's stuck in a forward position in addition and when they were packing up our picnic table which is a foldable picnic table the same gentleman tried to fold it up without properly folding the legs and proceeded to break it and it totally fell apart. So be that is Florida and the truck wasn't completely empty yet we had a raid store and there was a 45 minute delay for them not working because of the rain storm they finally finished unloading the truck after the rain has stopped and it was about 5:30 PM and the supervisor said OK so now you want us to go to your storage unit? Here we had a job that it was supposed to be done in one day had already taken had 8 1/2 hours they only did half the job they did a very poor job they were very unprofessional and my husband made the decision to not go to the storage unit we did not want to be up till three or four in the morning because they could not get the work done enough quick enough time. In the meantime my husband had to sign and pay for the moving expense that they charged us for a whole job of which they only did partial and they threaten to call the police if we didn't pay the entire amount so we paid it we signed it under duress contacted the company and the company has been unwilling to help us out or even give us a credit or help us get our other property out of storage that they were supposed to do in the beginning so long story short again I would say do not I repeat do not hire 1776 moving and storage for your movie needs it was horrible I cannot stress that enough it was horrible. read more

Stay away! The team was late, inefficient, and unprofessional. I had to babysit them the entire time to ensure the move was completed in a reasonable amount of time. When I called to discuss my disappointing experience with the management team, they just didn't care. I had used them before a few years ago for a move, and they were great, so decided to use again. We have no complaints. The men were very professional, patiently wrapped our most fragile possessions, and worked hard to get us moved as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you ae looking for a moving company that will handle your furnishings with care I would suggest you keep looking! Even worse when they damage items they accept no responsibility at all except to defer to the .60 per pound insurance. Should you decide to move forward with this company I strongly urge you to take out additional insurance. I had many items damaged; however, the furniture damage was extensive. I had to take pictures and send them in to their insurance company. I then had to schedule time for an adjuster to come out and look at each of the damaged pieces. The company offered to give me $250.00 (which is already an admission that damage was done) which doesn't begin to cover the repair costs. Their very own adjustor provided a bid in writing which I provided to the company at just over $3,000.00 to repair the furniture. This included a large dent in the dining room table, (2) living room chairs that looked like they were dragged across gravel removing the finish on the legs, a dining room hutch had a piece broken off, kitchen chairs with several legs damaged, a desk with a chuck out of one leg, a sleigh with a gouge in the side and multiple other nicks, scratches, gouges, etc...... The company said this was all within the normal realm of damage in any move??? While I do not expect perfection in a move I have moved many times over the years and this was not close to the normal damage one would expect or accept. I had no expectation that the company would pay for the full repairs at over $3000.00; however, I would expect they meet me halfway. This has not yet been the case and they offer $250.00 based upon weight at .60 per pound. The dining room table alone weighs more than what that calculates out to. They didn't bring a big scale to weigh all the furniture so not quite sure how they arrived at 416 pounds. They were always available to trouble shoot any issues and very professional. On the move day the crew showed up 10 minutes early and was ready to work. 1776 Moving & Storage made our moving day quick, painless, and easy. For starters, before the move they were very prompt with answering emails, changing times (and then changing them back when I realized I had a meeting I couldn't miss!), and answering any questions I had. On the day of the move, they sent three guys (for $150 p/hr that's pretty good) who arrived right on time, even though it was morning rush-hour time in Orlando. We had packed stuff in boxes, but none of our furniture was wrapped in anything, so they quickly wrapped everything in protective blankets and got it out the door and into the truck. One of them even dissembled our bed for us, took him 5 minutes (would have taken me 30!). I think it only took 1 hour from the time they pulled up to be ready to leave. They got to our new place quickly and began moving stuff in...up six flights of stairs, with no elevator. They were super quick, and once everything was in, they even helped us reattach some lights to bookshelves they had to remove before putting them into the truck, and reassembled the bed. At the end, a move that I thought would take 5 hours ended up taking only 3, which is the minimum they charge for. I would definitely recommend 1776 Moving and Storage for an easy, quick moving company that really value customer service. There was no purposeful time-wasting to get us to pay for extra time, and the guys were friendly. Next time I move apartments, I will definitely be using them. read more

This is a horrible company! All the movers arrived to our house a little bit late not even wearing masks during this covid pandemic. This was very concerning to us. They are so unprofessional, disrespectful and careless. They damaged so many of our things including furniture, collectibles and valuables. We had boxes labeled fragile and everything in them was broken once I opened them up. It rained very hard on and off that day and they refused to work during that time and they left many of our things out on the street by the truck to get completely soaked. They were always taking breaks and even smoking on their truck and we have cigarette burn holes on some of our leather furniture. I have so many pictures of all the damages. We had some very nice furniture and it is basically completely destroyed now. Scratches, dents and burns on almost every single piece. They also banged up several of the walls in our house and scratched our wood floors. We had a in-home estimate before the movers showed up that day and they we were told that it would not be more then 15 percent of the quoted price. They charged us over 40 percent more. When they arrived for the estimate they looked everywhere in our house and even in closets, cabinets, garage and every single room. We even sold a bunch of furniture before the movers arrived so the estimate should have been lower if anything. When we said we were not comfortable paying 40 percent more they threatened to load up our valuables and electronics and got very aggressive. Was really scarey and we agreed to pay then so the situation would not escalate. This is criminal like behavior! Reported this to the BBB and the movers denied and lied about all of this and the BBB just closed the case. Very disappointing! Consumers need to know what this company is all about. read more

They are highly rated, but I wasn't even able to get a quote from them... a last minute reschedule, and then a no-show at the rescheduled time. Good luck if you use them... read more
