More: Went out on a 3-day charter with three other guys (two old friends, and the brother-in-law of one of the old friends, who is now a new friend), making my first deep-sea trip at the age of 59. Definitely a bucket-list kind of thing. Captain Johnny Greene's expert knowledge of this fishery is peerless -- and not only is it a fun fishing trip, it's a masterclass on how a top professional's decision-making works. I loved catching fish -- we went back to the dock with full fish boxes -- but what really made the trip was being out with a captain who really loves what he's doing, wants to share that with others, and has an equally fantastic crew making it happen on deck. As to the crew -- Jake, Gabby, and Grady are an amazing team -- and each one qualified as a captain in their own right . They're great coaches for the newbie (like me) and expert support for the highly-experienced like my friend who organized our trip. They are super-efficient and always getting something done. It was fun watching them do their thing... and they cook and serve great food! Go out on Intimidator -- it'll be a great fishing experience for the novice and expert alike.
