I had an unfortunate experience at Barefoot Landing Nails and I have been trying to contact the business to get it figured out to only be met with radio silence. I went in to get my nails done for a wedding at the beach and it was the only time I had to get them done. I showed the nail tech, who was very lovely and kind so I hate writing a review about this, a photo (attached) that I thought would be simple. Round nails, french tip. I thought it would be relatively easy and told him if he couldn't do it a regular straight nail french tip would be fine, but he protested and said that he could. He kept saying almond shape and I was like that's fine, it was close enough. I originally asked for gel but he said that the dip nails would look better, so I said I trusted him to do what he thought was best. After an hour of filing and drilling, my cuticles and the skin below them were so irritated and red that I couldn't imagine being in the chair any longer. The nails were bumpy, turned upwards, and had specs all in them from the powder. He could definitely see that I was uphappy with them because I was on the verge of tears, and assured me that he'd fix them if I wanted him to, but not only did I have no more time (I was already running late as this appointment had taken an hour and and a half already when I was only expecting 45-an hour as my usual appointments are) but my cuticles hurt so bad and were so irritated that I couldn't imagine him going back in and fixing them. I told him that they were fine, paid upwards of $80 and moved on. As you can see, this are not $80 nails. I don't live in the area, I was here on vacation, so it's not like I can just go back and get them fixed. As they refuse to answer my emails, I am writing this as a cautionary tale to everyone who chooses to go here. Stand up for yourself and hopefully you don't have the same experience. read more

Not impressed. My niece got gel and her technician did great, but I always get regular and I got the $48 pedicure instead of standard. She cut the side of my nails so they get caught on things, and painted my cuticles. I pointed out a lump in the polish on a toe and she made it worse when trying to fix it then asked if that was better. I just said yes. See photos of my nails. read more

They were initially very friendly however, the gentleman who did my manicure and pedicure was in such a big hurry, that he literally painted my toe. When I explained to him that my finger was not smooth and was lumpy, he said, let it dry it'll be fine, but I made him fix it and you could tell he was very frustrated with the fact that I wanted what I paid for. When I was ready to check out, he was already on his way out the door. My business clearly did not mean anything to them. I will not return. read more

I had high hopes that our appointment for two mani/pedi would be respected. What I experienced was that one of us got a start with a pedicure immediately and the other of us waited 40 minutes to begin. The issue at hand developed as both pedicures were deamed complete at the same time. One for an hour, one for 20 minutes and both charged the same price. Rather than an apology or an attempt to reconcile the disparency in service, I was publically shamed and humiliated as an irate customer. I wont be going back but if you do, ask for Liam. read more

Ehh. My friend and I came here based on the decent reviews and the fact that everywhere else had less stars. Y'all! This is the sloppiest sns manicure I've ever had. Myrtle Beach manicure at its best. If you don't mind polish / literally dip powder cement all over your cuticles and skin, then you're fine. Nails were filed crooked and cuticles not even trimmed. If you prefer a clean manicure...the don't go here. I should have polished them myself at home....or let my 4 year old polish. Also, they're already cracking and chipped in less than 24 hours. I mainly stick to the same place when getting my nails done because I always have a great experience. A friend of mine raved about her positive experience here so I decided to try them out with her. We didn't have an appointment but there was no one in the nail salon when we got there at 4:30, so we figured this wouldn't be a problem getting in. My friend got a full set and pedi while all I wanted was a full set. I don't know what the mans name was but it was an older man who did my nails. I showed him a picture of a set of nails that I liked and wanted, a simple nude with a black outline. He said he was not able to do that on a square nails shape.. So I told him a simple ombré nail would be fine. He said he wasn't able to do that either. I figured if he couldn't do either of those then maybe he could do a simple full set painted purple. What I got was awful. He told me to get up and wash my hands and by the time I went to pay he'd already packed his stuff up and was sitting at the front on his phone. He didn't ask if I liked them and didn't care whether they were completely flawed or not. I have been to multiple nail salons in North Myrtle/Myrtle and I have never experienced anything like this before. There is chipped polish on all 10 of my nails, as well as no color on the tops of them. They are unevenly thick and they are uneven in length. They look like what my nails look like 4 weeks into a fill. This salon is very old fashioned in their nail techniques; I don't recommend them if you're wanting anything modern. It was also very dark inside and didn't look very clean. I gave them an extra star due to one of the techs being so friendly. Maybe it was just a bad experience but I'm not willing to waste another $100 bucks on having them fixed to find out. read more

Probably the best nail experience I've ever had! Everything you read about the friendliness of the staff, while true it just doesn't do justice to the experience I just had. I was uncertain about what I wanted, no issues that I changed my mind after she painted a few of my toenails. My boyfriend was with me & his experience was just as pleasant, both techs took their time with us. The massage after both my pedicure & manicure made the experience over the top. read more

This wasn't a manicure. It was a rough filing and bad polish job for $39. Everything was dingy and dirty. The woman had her eye on the parking lot the entire time. I don't know what business they're in but it's not manicures. Fyi it's called Barefoot Landing Nails now. read more

The owners are amazing and so friendly. It was a great experience, but didn't love my nails. Even with an appointment I was being fit in with other clients so the focus on my nails wasn't there. To be fair, I didn't pre inform them that I needed acrylic removed, so that took longer. But all the acrylic wasn't removed and my polish is lumpy and messy. Though I was given exactly what I requested, which took some extra time, and as I said the staff was super nice. I'd go back. read more

I have been to 17 Nails four times now. The first pedi was nice, the second took care of an ingrown nail. It's been downhill since. The third had a gel nail come off completely (I have a funky nail that has to be covered by a gel nail or tip) and the polish peeled off one toe. The fourth pedi was just a mess. Dry skin wasn't clipped, my toenails weren't cut, and the polish was sloppy on the skin around my nails. I went home and removed the polish and made an appointment somewhere else. I went in for a polish change and apparently I wasn't spending enough money. There was 1 person ahead of me and the owner told me he didn't have time. He just informed me that I would have to wait an hour I said that was fine. He then told me again that it would be an hour and I told him I heard your u the first time. The ambiance is dark and dingy. It does not look clean or well kept. I would not recommend them. read more

Highly recommend this nail salon. I called ahead to get appointment and unlike many nail salons, they actually honored the appointment and were ready for us when we arrived. I've been a loyal "local" customer for a long time but I'll be going somewhere else. They are understaffed and they are too rushed to do a good job. It is unfortunate because they are nice people...they just don't turn anyone away which means that they hurry too much on the customers they are working on. The last few times I've been there I've had to go home and reshape my nails. As for my pedicure, my feet were so rough when I got home yesterday it was like I never had one.
