Jeff was my chef and he was great! Their prices are crazy good! I loved their uni especially! The vibe was good as well. All in all good experience!

-- FOOD -- For the price the fish quality was good. It was very apparent that the fish used was very fresh and it did not have a fishy smell or taste. I do wish they included a miso soup and/or dessert though as it felt like not a complete meal with just the nigiri. -- SERVICE -- The service was good and the sushi chef was skilled even though the nigiri served was very classic and not creative. The server was attentively refilling our water's. I wish they provided a printed menu on what the order of the fish served for the nice was, and I wish we were provided with a drink menu when we were seated. -- AMBIANCE -- Absolutely loved the interior of the restaurant. Several intimate sushi bars create a nice quiet atmosphere. The decorations in the lounge area is nice too. Overall I think this is a good deal and a safe choice if people are looking to try their first Omakase experience in Atlanta.

$78 for 16 courses but they also offer a 12 course option for slightly cheaper ($65?) The chef didn't talk too much other than when he gave us our pieces to explain what it was. I would say that the price is definitely good for the quality of the fish. Each slice was thick so you could really tell how great the quality was. Each piece was flavored in some way, either slightly with a soy sauce or topping. I will say that most of the pieces were on the saltier side.

Found this new omakase spot that opened in December 2025 through Instagram lol and their main differentiator is the $78 price point for 16 courses. Given the high quality of the fish and generous portion sizes I'd say it was a relatively good deal! The bar / waiting area is super dark and had a strange ambiance before we got ushered into the dining area which has 8 seats that are right next to each other (so not much personal space ). Each party got seated right to left in order of who got there first which maybe isn't great for people who made it a point to get there early. My boyfriend and I got slightly lost trying to find the location inside the plaza since the storefront is very unassuming and showed up 3rd but I somehow got the prime viewing point of the chef making everything which was really cool! The fish was all presliced which was a slight bummer since I would've loved to see them slice it right before it was served but still got to see the assembly. Some of the garnishes were on the experimental side (like chili crisp) but somehow the flavors worked alright with each other. The nigiris started out on the gentle flavor side and gradually became more pronounced in later courses. I thought the wasabi was too strong and drowned out the fish flavor for some of the earlier courses but maybe that's because I don't typically like wasabi. I felt the wagyu didn't need uni on top and perhaps even would've been a disappointment for uni fans since the wagyu flavor overpowered the uni but I'm not complaining since I don't like uni by itself. Spicy tuna roll was an odd follow up to the wagyu which felt like the main character of all the courses and it was a bit on the spicy side. That said, I really enjoyed the nigiris that I favorited in the photos! They were really delicious and memorable A couple of service mishaps that could be easily fixed and greatly elevated the experience are: - Rolled up hand towel is set at each place setting before you arrive. Unclear when you're supposed to use it, and if they came around with a tea pot of hot water that would unfurl the towel for you, that would easily level up the experience there. - Water kept getting refilled right when I was grabbing the nigiri with my chopsticks. Pretty bad timing especially since they have to precariously reach in between people to do so. Guy next to me ordered a drink which was filled to the brim and it was hard for him to get it behind his shoulder. - They were playing EDM which didn't match the vibe at all - Chef didn't explain any of the philosophy behind each course, he was pretty quiet and just announced what each item was before handing it to us and that was it Overall I'd come back if I was craving high quality nigiri but I do wish they improved their service to make the experience more elevated!

It seems like the front and back room experiences are very different in terms of ambiance. I specifically requested the front room and we were still seated in the back room with the weird curtain. I peaked in to the front while waiting on my husband and they looked like they were enjoying their experience a lot more. Our chef didn't really have much personality and we barely understood what each course was. It felt rushed. We did the 12 course lunch menu. The fish was high quality and we enjoyed all of them. The standouts were the salmon, scallop, and tuna. I am not sure if we would be back to try dinner. There are so many other omakase options in Atlanta now, I think you would probably get a better experience at a different location.

16 pieces for $78 is a good deal for the amount of pieces you get. I loved the Wagyu and uni hand roll as well as the squid nigiri. Unique flavor pairings, not sure if I liked some of them such as the salmon with citrus. Slices were on the thinner side for me. Loved the miso cod hand roll as well.

The staff here is delightful. The older lady hostess is so sweet and customer friendly. I started in the bar while waiting on my other friends. I've been to a LOT of omakase across ATL, NYC, and CHI. And Michelin star omakase. Love omakase. I found the fish to be fresh, but it's not the best omakase I've had. I think more hype than anything imo. The handing of the sushi through a little opening is odd to me. The chef, while friendly, didn't go into much detail about the fish. They should likely have a menu so you know the fish for each course. You can barely see the chef. I did find their bar menu to be VERY offputting. I was charged $39 for a g4 reposado bartenders special that was well balanced but not spirit forward. In no world should a drink be that pricey. IF I return I wouldn't drink. Things like this (bar greed) turn me off about places. My gf ordered 2 and was shocked when she had a $80 bar tab alone. You can also order other nigiri and my friend ordered a hand roll. There was no matcha or dessert offered fyi so maybe that's changed. But I am now read ing when you go to the back room they cut those things out yet still charge the same. I don't think I would return for $120 - this was not the experience.

Johan the sushi chef and his beautiful box of fish. (Plus mini blowtorch!)

Really delicious. An overall lovely experience. I love that there's an option for an omakase lunch. There is a lot of parking around, but not many open spaces on a weekend afternoon in that busy shopping center. Give yourself extra time to park. I wish we lived closer so we could go back more often. The fish and shellfish were outstanding. The extra flavor touches were delightful as well. My favorite extra touches were pickled wasabi on one piece and a dab of a yuzu pepper sauce on another.

Incredible service, one of a kind omakase that was carefully crafted. Food was incredible, though it's really only nigiri sushi and a couple hand rolls. Drinks are expensive but good quality. I was full by the end but my husband was still hungry!

Heard a lot of amazing reviews about this place that recently opened and was lucky to get a reservation. If you love sushi, 1678 Omakase is a must, especially for the price. Every course was -- super fresh fish, clean flavors, and perfectly balanced bites. Our Chef, Chef Joe took a lot of time and effort to curated a lot of care into each piece, from the knife work to the seasoning. Chef Joe explained what each piece was paired with without being over the top, which made it easy to appreciate the different fish and textures. The progression of the courses was spot on, and nothing felt rushed. The vibe is relaxed, with a separate waiting room which they plan to turn into a hand roll bar. They have super limited seating, 8 guest at most, making the experience super intimate. Hands down one of the best omakase experiences I've had. Already made another reservation for this weekend! At $78 for a 16 course omakase, this price can't be beat here in Atlanta. Here are the ones that were included in the course + I ordered a Kani Nigiri as well: 1. Hamachi - Yellow Tail 2. Squid - Ika 3. Albacore with Ponzu Sauce & Scallion 4. Botan Ebi - Sweet Prawn 5. Kanpachi - Amberjack with Ginger Scallion Sauce (reminded me of the Ginger Scallion Sauce for Hainanese Chicken) 6. Hirame - Fluke with Lime Zest 7. Madai - Sea Bream with a Chili Crisp Sauce 8. Ikura - Salmon Roe 9. Hotate - Hokkaido Scallop with Charcoal Salt 10. Miso Black cod with Yuzu Miso Sauce 11. King salmon with Yuzu Pepper Sauce 12. Akami - Bluefin Lean Tuna with Pickled Wasabi (had a kick to it) 13. Chutoro - Applewood Smoked Fatty Tuna with Caviar) 14. Otoro - Fatty Tuna with Pickled Daikon) 15. Wagyu with Uni (Uni from California) 16. Toro Hand Roll 17. Unagi - BBQ Eel 18. Kani -Blue Crab

U N I 2gether 4ever Check out 1678 Omakase, Brookhaven's first Omakase spot. 16-course for $78, hence the name lol. They also have 12 or 20-course option available. We opt'd for the Signature 16 course & it was the perfect portion. The freshly whisked matcha compliments it well since they don't have drinks menu for now so you can BYOB. Intimate 8 counter seatings w/ Chef Johan, a must visit before they change the name to 16100 or something higher LMAO :P Here's our line-up: 1. Hamachi (Yellowtail) 2. Ika (Squid) 3. Kanpachi (Amberjack) 4. Botan Ebi (sweet shrimp) 5. Albacore 6. Ikura (Salmon Roe) 7. Shima Aji (Striped Jack) 8. Hotate (Scallops) 9. Madai (Sea Bream) 10. Salmon 11. Akami (Lean Tuna) 12. I've been to a lot of omakase, some VERY pricey, but this was hands down the best experience I've had! It's a very intimate dining experience, max seating is only 8 people per group. Definitely an upscale experience, so dress nice! They have deep house music playing which gives it a chic vibe. We came early and the staff were all super polite and professional. Our sushi chef, chef Joe, was funny, and very talented. Every course of the 16 course meal was hand made right in front of us and served by the chef straight to our plate. The food was phenomenal. Each hand crafted course had distinct and vibrant flavor profiles. We did the 16 course experience (which only cost 78$ per person! So affordable!), and chef Joe added the unagi nigiri on the house. We ordered the Kani to as extra. 1. Hamachi yellow tail 2. Squid ika 3. Albacore ponzu sauce with scallion 4. Botan ebi (sweet prawn) 5. Kanpachi (amberjack with ginger scallion sauce) 6. Hirame (fluke with lime zest) 7. Madai (sea bream with chili sauce) 8. Ikura (salmon roe) 9. Hotate (Hokkaido scallop with charcoal salt) 10. Miso Black cod with yuzu miso sauce 11. King salmon with yuzu pepper sauce 12. Akami (bluefin lean tuna with pickled wasabi) 13. Chutoro (apple wood smoked fatty tuna with caviar) 14. Otoro (fatty tuna with pickled daikon) 15. Wagyu with uni 16. Toro hand roll 17. Unagi bbq eel 18. Kani (blue crab) I cannot stress each course was sensational in presentation, flavor, and freshness. As I'm writing this review I'm already looking to book another reservation!

Great place for lunch omakase! Came here on a Saturday lunch and did the 16 course omakase. Was planning to do the 12 course but everything was so great that we decided to do 16. The quality of the fish was amazing and it was a nice 8 person setting. Took around an hour or so for the whole meal and the chef was very knowledgeable about the fish and had worked at omakase and restaurants for over 10 years. There were some fun bonuses like matcha cheesecake and matcha with our meal. All in all I was super impressed by everything especially the otoro hand roll. Will definitely be back!

We've tried various places around Buckhead for sushi and after one visit, this became our favorite place. The menu is huge and they offer small portions of rolls so if you want to try multiple different rolls you can. Their miso soup has noodles in it and was really tasty. All the sushi tasted fresh and was nicely played. We actually ended up placing a pickup order on a day they opened late due to the ice. Totally our fault for not calling first. We visited the next day because we were still craving sushi and told them how we had placed (and paid) for an order and they immediately started to offer us solutions. We had the choice to either get a refund or bring the receipt back another day and have the order made then. We naturally came back the next day because the food was great and upon walking in the door they greeted us with a smile and immediately brought the ticket back to get our order made. Would absolutely recommend going here, both for great food and great service

Ru San, situated amongst a sea of pricey sushi joints, is a solid 4, but the service we received from LAN today made it an unequivocal 5 in my book. Takoyaki: a nay if you've had real takoyaki before. It was soft, pale, and doughy. So if that's your thing, the flavor was great, so have at it! Everything else was delicious, although I did miss having tofu in the miso soup (they had vermicelli noodles instead). The flavor was one of the better ones I've had, hands down, but I need that tofu! Portion sizes for the rest of our appetizers and entrees were so satisfying. The fish was fresh, and I loved the creative combinations available on the menu. We had an ice cold Sapporo and cold sake to wash everything down with. Most enjoyable of all was getting to know Lan, who's been with this restaurant for almost TWO DECADES!! Her energy, and shameless enabalism (sp?), made our dinner (celebrating 15 years together woot!) a memorably enriching experience. We'll be walking back to Ru San tn for a few drinks with Lan, and will definitely be revisiting this affordable yet delicious sushi restaurant again in the future. Many thanks, Ru San!

We ordered the panang gyoza x2, panang curry with chicken, spicy thai basil fried rice, and the wagyu minced beef. All the items had great flavor and at medium spicy, they were perfect. We also ordered the Tom Ka hotpot family style soup with shrimp and chicken and it was delicious. Stayed at a great temperature with the fire heater in the middle and was good. We also ordered 6 different sushi rolls, Eye of the Tiger, Lobster Roll, Kamikaze, and a few others. The presentation as well as the flavor were all great. This place really is a hidden gem. I had a 2:00 PM reservation, and while I understand the restaurant closes at 3:00 PM for turnover, that timing seemed to impact the overall experience. It may be helpful for the reservation system and website to clearly reflect this closure window, unless I overlooked it, so guests can plan accordingly. Service was okay. One area for improvement is the parking lot, which could benefit from repaving and clearer line markings. All in all, it was an okay experience, the food and service were decent, but not compelling enough for me to return.
