After going to Penske Toyota twice in two weeks and being told their smog check had "network issues" one time and the second time that their smog guy was "sick," I decided to try my luck at 16 Minute Smog. I walked in a little past 8AM on a Friday and it was empty. I was in and out in the promised 16 minutes. I love how courteous the older gentleman was and how friendly his cat is. I will definitely be back! The price was also very reasonable ($30 less than what Penske Toyota was going to charge me!) The only con is that the place is a little hard to find. When you make the right into the driveway, there are two mechanics, keep going all the way to the back, there are big signs letting you know where the smog check is, you won't miss it! read more

Went early and literally was out in 15 minutes and the cat was actually there. Cost literally $65.

I took a 1984 Porsche 928 in to get a SMOG test, and the owner/operator decided for some reason that he did NOT want to follow through with the test on my car, right in the middle of the test. He started raising his voice and said "Its a waste of my time! I don't wanna do it!". And sent me on my way. If you have an older car that requires "more work" in order to test properly, then you might avoid this place!!!! Why spend 45 minutes testing an older car, when you could test three or four newer cars in the same time??? Greedy? Lazy? Both? You be the judge. read more

This business needs to be held accountable. During a recent inspection, the technician checked my catalytic converter and recorded the wrong serial number. As a result, my car failed the inspection, even though everything else passed. I immediately took my car to the shop where I had it inspected last time. They had my correct catalytic converter serial number on file and confirmed that the original inspector had made an error. When I confronted him, he dismissed other businesses as incompetent, but several local shops believe he may be doing this intentionally. This kind of behavior is unacceptable read more

Have been to this place twice now (one for each of the cars in my family). Each time it took approximately 10 minutes. The owner is super hard working, kind, and even explains what needs to happen with the DMV after the smog check as well. He gave a $10 discount for mentioning that we found his place via Yelp (no review required) but just giving him a review because he deserves it. My first car I brought in with the battery hanging by the threads (I had just jumped it). He gave me a fair warning that it might fail the smog check but there is free retests within a 5 month period. He had me not turn off my car to do the smog check right away and thankfully it passed. All in all, this is my go to smog check place. Appreciate how hard the owner works. Appreciate the $10 discount (he even gives you a coupon to give out to friends for referrals as well). I was recommended this place by a mechanic. I've had my truck for 20 years and pass led countless smog tests other places. The first time I bring it here it doesn't pass. It's written as a catalytic converter tampering. I've never changed my converter, ever. Wtf. I asked him for more of an explanation and advise he said return them to whoever installed them. Ridiculous. Now he has me flagged with the state and I have to make an appointment with BAR. Be weary if you have an older truck going to this place. read more
