"16 handles" will be how you describe my mid-section if I eat here weekly! At it's heart, 16 Handles is a create-your-own fro-yo joint with a literal cornucopia of topping to choose from. The name says it all - 16 choices (each dispensed from a handle - get it?). After you select your choice (or in my case, 4 choices... cookies and cream, birthday cake, red velvet cake and peanut butter), you meander over to the topping bar and select from probably 50+ choices. It's all "help yourself", and you pay by weight. The price didn't strike me as overly expensive. A neat spin on an exiting market. read more

I usually love this place. Today I went and walked into a swarm of fruit flies near the yogurt and toppings bar. I asked about the fly issue. The employee just shrugged. Zero f@cks given. Real nice. This place was filthy! The counters were messy and the syrup containers were covered in syrup. When I picked up the marshmallow container, I got more marshmallow on my hands than in my froyo because it was empty. The employees weren't cleaning anything, even when no one was in line. My family & I are frequent 16 handles Customers & I have been totally dissatisfied lately . First upon walking in we were told they were out of pink cups so we were forced to purchase the green cup for my toddler which is absolutely ridiculous due to the fact it wasn't BY CHOICE. Then a few customers come in after me & helped their selves to the cabinet where pink cups were actually in stock! Maybe it's because we got here at 10:00pm on a Saturday, but this place is filthy. The floors are dirty and sticky, there was no fresh fruit, the counters were dirty, and the bottles with the sauces were covered on the outside with sauce. The froyo selection and topping options seem limited compared to other places, and the staff isn't at all friendly or helpful. I do not recommend this place. read more

This was my first experience at 16 handles and I was very excited. I was looking forward to tasting a few before I purchased for myself and my 13 year old cousin. They informed us that it's "one sample cup per customer" and that you can't re-use the sample cup. I almost walked out right then. There are no signs in the store that say this. I understand that they don't want people to taste a bunch and then leave, but it's a rude way to handle frozen yogurt places. I will not be coming back here. I find myself continuing to go here as my late-night desert spot. The hours run late, which is highly convenient. All employees there are extremely friendly, greeting you as you walk in, and all smiles as they ring you up. I feel like almost every other time I go there, I have rewards for $5 and up toward frozen yogurt. Awesome. Cute set up. Not a fan of the neon colors, a little too saturated for my taste. However, the service was friendly. They were really helpful and patient (I had to dig up my last dollar and they waited with ear to ear smiles). I love their banana, dulce de leche, and euro tart. I have never wrote a review in my life! But tonight I have too, I went to 16 handles tonight with my brother. The worker that has red hair with glasses was the most obnoxious rude person ever. She told us we couldn't get sample cups after 6 pm and I said ok how would you like me to test the flavors and she suggested I put in the the cup and SCOOP IT OUT WITH MY FINGERS. It doesn't stop there then when my brother did not like the flavor and wanted to throw out the cup to get a new one, she said what are you doing you cannot throw that out reuse it, then I said why not? Why are you being so stingy about cups. She told me to speak to the manager. The worst customer service ever. I understand you have teenagers working there but maybe they should get their attitudes checked before they come into work. read more

Pretty cool concept EXCEPT the employees are disgusting. They were eating the toppings with their hands and putting their fingers in their mouths, to make it worse they were putting their fingers under the yogurt nozzles and putting yogurt on their fingers and licking them. Then they went back to work like nothing had happened. I have worked in restaurants and that is a health code violation that will get you shut down. The pistachio flavor is the best flavor I've had (I only tried two: vanilla bean and pistachio). It wasn't overbearing with that taste of essence or sweetness. Same applies for the vanilla bean. I'm a huge fan of vanilla but not much of a vanilla bean person because the taste in my opinion is a bit overbearing and rich for me. I would definitely go back again and get a bigger size. I never finish my small but I definitely did this time around. Also, they have a good amount of toppings to choose from. I'm a simple person, so strawberries and mangoes are always my go to (although I don't think I ember seeing mangoes). I was super excited to see cookie crunch though. I actually hate giving bad reviews but maybe this will be more like constructive criticism. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 16 handles franchise!!! I go to all of their locations in the city and LOVE the other location in Lynbrook. However... This location falls waaaaaaay below what I'm used to when visiting a 16 handles. There was hardly any yogurt in any of the machines. I had to stand there waiting and hoping some would eventually come out. The toppings area was was messy and the fresh fruit was not so fresh. I had even asked the guy behind the counter as to why the strawberries looked so old and gross... His reply was "we actually just put those out" Moving on to eating the actual yogurt... It was not good at all. That was the first time that I didn't actually all but inhale my frozen cup of goodness. It tasted kinda sour and being that it was mixed with the sucky toppings... I had no choice but to give up and throw it away. The customer service also fell way below any other store I've visited as well. Probably won't be returning to this location unfortunately. I almost gave up on 16 handles all together until I got my fix at their Lynbrook location yesterday. FYI- you would think all of this happened at the end of the day towards closing as to why maybe this visit was such a train wreck... But no. It was the middle of a beautiful weekend day. read more

I know there is Alot of criticism out there but i love this place. Even though there is Alot of yogurt places i always come back here. They have a great selection and a great staff as well. The yogurt there is creamy and stays in place not looking like a puddle after i put it in the cup. they have such a great assortment of topics which are all delicious as well. They keep the place clean,noticed alot of sweeping, wiping and tidying while we're there. There is a punch card for discount after ten yogurts. I thought price is reasonable compared to other ice cream/ yogurt places. Last time we bought four decent size yogurts with toppings for $17. BEST FROYO PLACE ON LI My experiences coming to this fine establishment has always been on point. The interior is always clean and well kept by the friendly staff. Its has a comfortable sitting area with fun stylish furnishings. Reminds me of the board game Candy Land with its bright fun colors. The interesting name comes from the availability of 16 different flavors of frozen yogurt. From classics like Vanilla and Chocolate. To all types of variety based on the season like Nutella to Mango. After you get your choice of different frozen yogurt. The fun part is decorating your own masterpiece from up to 25 different toppings from healthy choices like fresh fruit or nuts. Or for the sweet tooth lovers all types of candy- from cookie dough to mochi. I get my froyo hooks up from here on the hottest day in the summer to coldest days in winter.
