The instructors were pleasant, and I liked the core workouts included in every class. In December 2025, I signed up again. I soon realized there were very few yoga classes, often in the early morning another in the evening, and they filled up quickly. There were mostly Yoga Sculpt classes. I tried one and walked out midway because the volume hurt my ears. It was so loud I couldn't hear the instructions. A young woman who also walked out agreed it was too loud. I tried Yoga Strength. It was okay, and I figured it could be compromise. The second class was louder, and afterward I asked the instructor to turn down the music. She said she understood it was too loud, but her manager wanted it to be even louder. The third Yoga Strength was deafening. I asked the instructor to turn down the volume. I said I couldn't hear her instructions. She said she'd turn up the mike. I started rolling up my mat. She turned down the volume, so I stayed until she turned up the volume again. Then I walked out. When I complained to the corporation, I was told I had to give 30 days notice, which meant they'd only charge me half price for classes I would not be taking. Restaurants and Bars play deafening music in order to get people to drink more and turn the tables more quickly. I do not patronize such places. I understood CorePower was NOT really yoga, but it is criminal to deafen people. DO NOT COME HERE.

READ THIS BEFORE JOINING EQUINOX…read more Let me preface this by saying I am not a member of Equinox (well now I am but read this first before joining. I'm thinking about getting a membership, and my friend told me about a robot massage service called Aescape, which is located inside some Equinox locations within the city. I went to Equinox to try the massage, and my wife tempered my expectations, so I really wasn't expecting much. I was greeted by the front desk (by the way, the Equinox is inside the mall--took me a minute to find it). The receptionist checked me in for Aescape, asked for my apparel size, and then told me where the room was. Since there was only one person at the front desk, she wasn't able to walk me there, which I understood. It was easy to find--just up the stairs and through the door that says "Spa." Pro tip: If you're thinking about getting a membership, Aescape comes with a day pass, so you can use the gym after your massage. This thing is straight out of the future--truly. It's a massage bed (that is quite comfortable) with two robotic arms and an iPad in front of you. You control everything from the screen--the massage type, pressure, music, focus areas, and even the setting (I chose a rainforest). This thing blew me away. The massage was damn good. And for $60? No tip required, plus access to Equinox? What a deal. I used the sauna and locker rooms after, got a workout in, and then went straight to the front desk to ask how to get a membership. I'm sold. My only complaint? Equinox members should get a discount on their massages through the app or something. It'd be a nice incentive to sign up (though, clearly, I didn't even need that to be convinced).

This is a $300+ month membership. I asked her about the Wall Street location hours and she lied and said it closed at 6pm. I called back and said I called Wall Street and they told me it closed at 7pm. She lied and said I said Tribeca. There were five other guests with me that heard me. She accused me of lying. She's a cheat and liar and Equinox is ripping people off by making them interact with her at all.

In this place I found that true self confidence comes from within and has little to do with the materials you own, the clothes you wear, or the money you make. I was in a bad place when I decided to try boxing. But I knew I was angry and wanted to punch something, so boxing was the light bulb that went off in my head. I did a lot of research trying to find a good gym. I read the whole website and was absorbed in the stories. Immediately inspired I booked it to the subway station. 45 minutes later I almost got cold feet on the 1 train thinking I couldn't walk into a boxing gym, I just thought I didn't belong. The lady at the front desk helped wash away my fears. She was so welcoming and genuine I became a little more comfortable. I signed up and continued to go (nearly weekly) until I left New York. All of the trainers are knowledgeable and good people. But no one tested me as much as Eric Kelly did. He had a nickname for me, 13, because apparently that's how old I look. He was brash, no nonsense, demanding your best only and always. It was exactly what I needed, I improved, I became strong, and most importantly I saw my limits and pushed past them, which was so rewarding. I faced my fears every time I walked into that gym and I felt invincible every time I left. Intensive. Life Changing. Shout out to Eric: thanks for everything.

I have always "worked out" from classes to trainers,…read morePilates, Yoga, running etc. I saw mediocre results. Three years ago, my good friend introduced me to Joel and I have been training with him ever since. "Excellent Trainer" doesn't do Joel justice. He is way more than just a great trainer - he is a fitness guru, motivational coach, and nutritional expert all in one. He personalizes my workout regimes to meet my goals and body type, and is genuinely invested in my journey to achieving maximum fitness. He is reliable, consistent, and inspiring - so much so, that I am willing to go to the financial district at 6am weekly to see him (despite living and working taxi rides away and being a night person! ) I highly recommend Joel for anyone looking to improve their overall well being, fitness and/or outlook on life!

Joel changed our workouts depending on my feedback and we found something that increased my endurance, strength and felt great during and after the workout. He is the kindest, most patient, supportive and entertaining trainer I have worked with!!

Without expecting it, this class was exactly what I needed!…read more I work at a non-profit where I currently practice immigration law under Trump, representing LGBTQ survivors of violence on asylum cases and domestic violence issues. My job has never been easy, but these past two years have been particularly grueling and frustrating. I often find myself having to hold my feelings of rage inside me when I am at court or at my office. For example, sometimes I want to just scream at an immigration judge or officer because of all the unfairness but I can't and I am forced to bury my feelings. I'm left walking around feeling overwhelmed, angry, and depleted. Sometimes I feel like I have zero energy to even make myself a healthy meal, let alone take care of my body physically and spiritually through exercise and meditation (which I used to do a lot of). Besides my stressful job, I'm also dealing with other everyday struggles ranging from overcoming childhood trauma to dealing with the messed up dating scene in New York City (hello f*ck boys). I've been trying to work on myself by being in therapy, journaling, and traveling. In fact, I just came back from a 10 day solo trip to Bali, Indonesia where I tried different forms of meditation, yoga, breathwork, and healing rituals. These were all lovely experiences for me and touched me in different ways. But, while the trip was amazing in its own way, I came back to New York in search of something more permanent and sustainable--and I think I found it with The Class. I took my first class yesterday with Zöe LePage, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. I came based on the Yelp reviews and a little research (I can't believe how little reviews this place has on Yelp!) Anyway, the class combined a little bit of everything I needed--an intense cardio workout, meditation and healing affirmations--all in a beautiful and serene setting that was not stuffy and overcrowded like the usual studio in New York City. The Class is an intense cardio workout with intermittent breaks between exercises for pause, rest, and contemplation. I never had this before in a Yoga or exercise class. The intensity builds up during the course of the hour, having you push yourself and question your limits. Of course, the teacher reminds you to check in with yourself and notice the difference between pain and discomfort. She is careful to tell those who feel any pain to adjust or hold off on a move, while those feeling discomfort should question their own discomfort and work through it. I don't remember the last time I sweated so much. I don't want to make it seem like this class was a miraculous end all to all of my problems--it wasn't. This class won't impeach Trump, it won't undo what I went through as a child, and it certainly won't find me a boyfriend in New York City. But what it did to was leave me feeling like I was on the road to a more sustainable and intentional way of living. I was left feeling more confident and powerful with new tools to tackle my hurdles--tools which I learned I have within me. I'll be back for sure! Thank you, Zöe and the rest of the team at The Class.
