Last night was my first visit but it certainly won't be my last! My friend and I both got the rainbow trout with red pepper mashed potatoes and asparagus- it was phenomenal! We started out with a little spinach artichoke dip and some bubbly but saved enough room to even have some carrot cake. By far one of the best meals I've had in months and from a little small town haunt like this- what a treat!!! read more

First time we've eaten here this year. We got there at opening and luckily we got a table outside on the patio. The evening was perfect for outdoor dining. We didn't have reservations, but they are strongly recommended! The food was excellent. We had sea bass in a lemon beurre blanc with rice and asparagus and we each got a house salad. The sea bass was cooked perfectly - moist and flavorful. We started with the shrimp tempura appetizer which was good. Very nice experience overall. read more

I so want this place to survive and thrive. The food is really good but I'm worried about some of the pricing for the area and clientele. Not sure people visit CO for lobster tails although apparently delicious! $12 for brussel sprouts? $10 for fries? Come on. And prob shouldn't charge for table bread. The Sea Bass and crawfish etouffee were delicious although could use more roux on the fish. Looking forward to the chicken & dumplings special on Monday's! read more

Very good food and excellent menu. Very professional and attentive service. Creede can be challenging for fine dining so this is a great addition to the community. We enjoyed the braised short rib with a no-starch accommodation, very nicely prepared fish dish, crispy brussels, and wedge salad. Everything was great. Wine and beer only, but good choices on both. Campy but very nice atmosphere - comfortable for dressed up fine dining or casual attire. Staff was very professional and attentive. Only hiccup was that apps, salads and entrees all came our on top of each other so felt very rushed, but could have been a one time glitch. Looking forward to a return visit. read more

Food was great, service was incredible. Couple cars of tourists filled one corner of 8 males and females. I hesitate to use the phrases ladies and gentlemen. Loud, rude, obnoxious, seriously obnoxious. We eventually left early because we couldn't carry on a conversation. There's not much to be done with this sort of riff-raff, but as it appears that southern manners continue to deteriorate, it will be a long time before we come back. read more

We had a wonderful dinner while visiting Creede. Beautiful western and mining decor in the restaurant. We had the fantastic wedge salad -loved that it was Romaine lettuce! Salmon with crawfish étouffée was wonderful. Staff was very friendly. One downside -we hadn't finished our salad and our dinner was delivered. read more

Cozy, quiet dining atmosphere. Service is attentive but not pushy. Menu is very good plus they have add-ones that allow you to create your own meal. Good wine selection and pricing. We had dinner there 5-6 times over the summer and were never disappointed in our meal/service. Can't wait to go back next summer. read more

We tried their prime rib night. I had Feta Stack and Green Chili both were very good especially the Feta Stack. Ordered bread for the table okay but won't order again. My friend ordered the prime rib since she's not a broccoli fan I got it, delicious cooked just right and tasty a little bit sweet which was different. The prime rib was very good, not a lot of fat the burn edges were my favorite. Bread pudding was not too soggy. It was interesting because my friend was saying there was too many apples and raisins on her side and mine had neither we should have stirred it all up better but the bowl was so full more than enough for 2. My only disappointment was that we weren't offered a wine list until we ask at the end. Definitely make reservations. This was second prime rib night and the restaurant was fully booked. read more

What a subtle and intrepid surprise to be driving along the 149 on the way from Creede to South Fork and discover the "149 Eatery". Camping in Creede, we wanted to treat ourselves to a sit-down meal. Unfortunate the bulk of restaurants in town were closed. We set out on the route to South Fork, having remember a fast food kind of place along the way. We pulled over, happy to see that there was indeed a place to grab a bite. However, after sitting down and seeing the menu....it was clear we had stumbled on something other then a simple roadside cafe. What followed was a delicious and amazing presentation of gastronomic delight. Shrimp tempura, bison burger, short ribs, and the most sublime blackberry cobbler. Two bottles of Belle Glos to accompany the meal. We kibitzed with the proprietor, a truly delightful and amazing purveyor of culinary and life experience. It was a wonderful evening, we closed the place down and the owner was kind enough to keep it open for us. We will not soon forget this amazing experience and will be back soon to try more selections. A beautiful and delicious evening. Thant you 149 eatery! 149 Eatery was absolutely wonderful! Food was delicious and service was amazing! Everyone from the owner to the staff was incredibly friendly. We had the fried chicken breast, bison burgers, and catfish, along with tempura shrimp and cornbread loaf appetizers, and all were divine. My daughter has severe food allergies and Isaac (house manager) and Mia (executive chef) were so helpful and went out of their way to accommodate her special needs. We rarely let her eat at restaurants but after speaking with Isaac we felt completely comfortable. Thank you for a lovely evening. read more
